The terrace was fabulous

September 2016 - We enjoyed Villa Barbara A very much. The terrace was fabulous. It was actually to big for us, we could have stayed at any of the other units and saved some money and been happy. The pictures did not do the other units justice they all had some sort of balcony or terrace. My wife thought it could have been a little better equipped with essentials, kitchen tools and such, and the ants took over the last couple of days.

Great place, wonderful land lady. The beach was beautiful and we enjoyed the small village of Santa Maria di Castellabate every day.

It's so special

July 2016 - This was our second visit so that says a lot. As I remarked the first time, it's not luxurious inside but it's the view, the setting and the nearby town of Santa Maria that make it so special.

The manager, Anna, is helpful and welcoming but not intrusive.

We have wondered what it would be like if you had poor weather as it's essentially a beach holiday but that's a chance you take anywhere. The sunbeds and parasol on the beach are included. You need to pay more if you want more than two. The terrace is huge and a very pleasant place to see the stars at night and the beach during the day.

We really like your company because of your honest descriptions, that you print full reviews and how helpful you are in advance. This was our third booking with you (the first was in 2008) and won't be our last!

June 2015 - Basic accommodation which might even be a bit disappointing were it not for the location and the view. We like a bit of luxury but thanks to Summer in Italy's honest description we knew what to expect.

It's a seaside holiday and you will be spending a lot of time on the beach. If that's not for you then maybe this complex won't suit. If a beautiful sandy beach with crystal clear water and friendly people is what you seek you'll be in heaven. There's aircon for comfort. The bathroom has seen better days but works okay and is clean. There are some annoying things like no nightables - weird. Nowhere to put water, book, phone, tablet next to the bed. No tray for carrying drinks, plates etc to the beautiful terrace. Small things that could easily be remedied.

Getting into the pretty town of Santa Maria is a walk on the beach or on the road. We did it every day. The steep hill into the complex is not for those with walking difficulties or our Fiat 500 which really struggled even in first gear. You get your own beach umbrella and chairs included.

Bottom line is would we return. Answer: We can't wait!

May 2014 - The location of Villa Barbara A is excellent and due to the time of year of our visit it was quiet, peaceful and everything we could have hoped for.

The people who work there were all very helpful, friendly and looked after us so well. We were made to feel very welcome and at home immediately. Even though we did not converse in each other's language very well, we all managed and found a way to communicate.

They were all lovely people and we would love to return to this property and location again in the future.

I personally feel Summer In Italy is a great company to deal with and that your contact and communications are an excellent aspect of what customer service should be and is all about. Your information supplied has been accurate and most informative and it has been a pleasure doing business with you. Summer In Italy is certainly a company I would have no hesitation in recommending and I hope to return to Italy to visit more of your beautiful country at which point I will use your services again.

June 2011 - We had a very enjoyable stay. The view is brilliant, short walk to the village, a very short walk to the beach with own parasol.

Kitchen etc a little basic. Did not like having to check in every knife, fork, plate etc and would rather have paid for the cleaning as part of the price, not an extra.

Car parking tight and got car scratched. Despite this the whole family loved the holiday and we would rent here again.

June 2008 - This is the third year our family has visited Santa Maria and rented Villa Barbara A. We truly love the village, the people, and the setting.

We especially appreciate Summer in Italy for all the detail that is shown in making certain the reservations are correct.

We would also like to say how wonderful Ms. Annarita [the caretaker] is and how much we appreciate her kindness, her attention to detail and her willingness to answer any and all questions we have regarding our holiday.

May 2008 - The Villa Barbara apartments are very well located right on a beautiful sandy beach with great sunsets and views across to the distant Amalfi Coast.

The apartments are a very short walk from Santa Maria di Castellabate - an unspoilt local town with a lovely traditional feel to it that has not been over-developed by tourism. It has a good selection of shops and services although some of the restaurants were not fully geared up for the summer season when we visited at the beginning of May.

The best part of our holiday however was spent on the beach and in the beautifully clear water right in front of the apartment.

Villa Barbara A has a fantastic terrace that caught the sun all day long.

The other rooms were fine although the kitchen was quite small and located in the main living room.

Anna Rita, the caretaker, was very helpful to us and was happy to translate for us when we had an issue with the hire car company.

All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

Summer in Italy were a pleasure to deal with and responded very promptly to any questions we had. This was our second time to use the company and we found them to be very efficient and helpful. We have recommended Summer In Italy to many of our friends and we will use them again in the future.

July 2007 - Wonderful. This was our third visit and we just don't get tired of it.

June 2007 - This visit to Villa Barbara in Santa Maria di Castellabate was the second, our first was last summer. When our stay ended last year our family knew instantly that we would return very soon! Returning this summer was filled with the emotion of returning to an old friend, very comfortable and welcoming. It was if we never left and that one year had not passed.

The surroundings and the apartment are incredibly beautiful. Every detail is paid attention and you are instantly taken in with the charm of Santa Maria and Cilento Coast.

I need to give many thanks to Ms. Anna Rita [the caretaker], this women is fantastic! She is extremely helpful, very concerned that our stay was enjoyable and any and every question we had she answered with true completeness.

We are already looking at our calendar for next to return to our old friend Santa Maria and Villa Barbara.

Summer in Italy is truly a professional organization and has the travelers interest at heart! I have recommend them to many people who are planning an holiday to Italy.

July 2005 - Villa Barbara was the most fantastic location you can imagine. We could get out of bed and swim in the sea. The terrace was superb, the appartment was beautiful, spacious and very clean.

The sea was warm and safe and the welcome by the caretakers was great.

Our part consisted of two adults and three difficult teenagers but it worked for all of us. We will definitely be back.

Keep on doing what you do. This the second holiday we have had with you and both have exceeded expectations. We have passed your website on to several other people.

June 2005 - Lovely place and wonderful view. A most excellently designed apartment. Occassionally it was a little chilly which was rather a relief.

It felt like being on the bridge of ship when sitting on the terrace. The beach and water were perfect.

The nearby town was a little bit of a walk on the soft sand but a joy to be there. Breakfast of croisant and coffee in the square was an early morning treat. The fish shop was a frequent stop. Great fun to try to speak Italian as much as possible.

Would certainly revisit.

The kids loved the dvd, the view and the closeness to the beach. We loved the view, particularly the sunset. The terrace was brilliant.

The apartment was very clean, and access to the beach great. The boys could play volleyball on the beach and we would relax on the terrace.

The owners were very nice and helpful.

Late in the afternoon we would walk to Santa Maria to purchase our food for dinner. A delight.
