Lovely villa with a great view

October 2018 - Lovely villa with a great view. We were close to small towns to explore and felt very safe in the gated property.

Summer In Italy was invaluable and we couldn't have done it without Luca's help. It was nice to have a resource to provide insight on villas as well as transportation and activities. THANK YOU!

Travel tips

  • We enjoyed Montepulciano not too far away.
  • Restaurant Al Casale provided a great dinner and service and it's only one mile away.
  • I highly recommend a wine tour.

We loved Villa Bambina

June 2018 - We loved Villa Bambina, it was very spacious for 8 adults. Our friends commented on how much nicer the villa was than the pictures showed. It has a lovely covered outside dining area, large indoor table for 8 and has more seating in the downstairs living room than the pictures show. Screens in the windows were appreciated. Large unheated pool. The views were spectacular.

Raffaele, the owner, was very nice and immediately took care of any small issues. He welcomed us with a bottle of wine and two bottles of his own olive oil. We really enjoyed the property. Grazie mille!

We liked that fact that you were reachable, responded quickly and that you had actually seen the property. You were easy to work with. We will definitely use Summer In Italy again!

Travel tips

  • We had an excellent dinner at Restaurant Al Casale, just a few minutes away.
  • Montepulciano is about 25 minutes, Montalcino 55 minutes, Pienza 30 minutes.
  • Right across the street is Azienda Agricola La Cignozza. Super nice people who gave us an impromptu wine tasting when we dropped in on them, but call ahead to make sure the owner is there.
  • Also, don't miss Poggio del Moro boutique winery down the street. Beautiful place and lovely wines. Call ahead.

Fantastic

June 2015 - Villa Bambina, the Heart of Tuscany!

We settled on having a big family gathering for a birthday milestone here in the middle of stunning Tuscany! The traditional style farmhouse accommodated 7 adults comfortably between two floors. Three bathrooms and a backup kitchen for overflow worked well. Only one problem two weeks was not enough!! The weather heated up and the pool overlooking lush patchwork countryside was hard to leave.

Mr Raffaele [the owner] looked after our every need (welcoming us with wines, fresh eggs, cherries and his own olive oil, and we were also invited to pick fresh lettuce and herbs from the garden). He was a wonderful host that definitely contributed greatly to our special two weeks!

The crowning experience was a birthday lunch cooked at the villa by Leonardo - we all participated in making pici pasta ("tipici" of the area), and learnt to make a number of other traditional dishes. Leonardo then served lunch and provided accompanying local red wines. The meal was delicious and surpassed any restaurant experience! Bellissimo!! We all recommend Villa Bambina!

I thought the booking procedure, follow up and communication that Summer In Italy provided was excellent. I will be happy to approach them again when I am ready to book another stay somewhere special in Italy! Thank you!

Travel tips

  • Our local town, Chianciano Terme was 5 minutes to the Coop for provisions and cafes for the morning fix of espresso doppio! How lucky were we!
  • The house was particularly well placed for quick visits to some beautiful towns: Montepulciano, Pienza, San Quirico d'Orcia, Montalcino. Florence and Siena were also not too far.

July 2010 - What a superb place to stay. The Villa, garden, pool and surroundings are beautiful.

Raffaele is a wonderful host and looked after us exceptionally well. The feast that he and his wife put on the last night was great, it was certainly worth it.

Would love to come back one day.

October 2009 - We loved the Villa Bambina and would love to go back.

It was very clean, conveniently arranged, and very roomy.

We especially appreciated the owner's attention and dedication to making us feel comfortable and well cared for. His kind gift of wine, olive oil and eggs was particularly thoughtful.

The home was beyond our expectations and we heartily recommend it to visitors.

Summer in Italy was very helpful and efficient. The web site was very user friendly and responsive.

Travel tips

  • Restaurants we enjoyed were L'Assassino Ristorante in Chianciano Terme and the one right up the road.
  • The Coop was a particularly good place to shop for supplies and the staff was helpful. They were patient when we carried produce to the checkout before weighing it. (We learned that you're supposed to weigh it and get a price sticker first in the produce dept.)
