Absolutely loved it

June 2019 - We stayed here for nine days and absolutely loved it. The rooms were nice and clean, with the photos not doing justice of how nice they are.

To top it all, the view and central location are just incredible. Worth every penny just for that.

Summer In Italy service has been brilliant. Kept me informed with constant communication.

Travel tips

  • We loved Restaurant La Lanterna and visited it several times.

Fantastic

April 2015 - We enjoyed our stay.

The owner was a fantastic host, arranging for dinner our first night at a great restaurant and arranging for our laundry to be done during our stay.

Travel tips

  • We enjoyed dinner at Restaurant Donna Sofia (if you call the restaurant they will come and pick you up and take you home). Interesting ride there (very narrow street), great food.

Very good

July 2013 - This was the apartment for my parents during our stay and it was a good escape from the rest of us when they needed it.

The air conditioning was essential for the loft bedroom and made it comfortable and it was very quiet on that side of the house.

Travel tips

  • Boat trip to Capri and taking evening strolls was a favorite pastime.

Very good

May 2013 - Wonderful location. Villa Azzurra C was small, but adequate for 2 people. Next time we would upgrade to a larger apartment. Have seen almost all of Italy. Would definitely go back to Sorrento next time and book Villa Azzurra

Travel tips

  • Two blocks to center and right above ferry dock. Perfect location.
  • To access boat dock, leave driveway and take your 1st right until you reach the park on your right - St Francis church and the Cloisters. Look on your left for elevator lift down to the pier. Much better than taking all those stairs.
  • Don't go to Positano unless you LOVE waking up steep hills to shop. Take ferry to Capri and go immediately to Anacapri -- awesome!
  • Don't bother taking bus ride thru the hills -- we found it boring.
  • Didn't have a bad meal anywhere. Just count the change they give you. 10% tip is plenty --but check bill for gratuity charge.
  • Try to fly into Naples and ask Andrea to hire a driver. 90 euros each way. Heard the train from Rome is exhausting.
  • Hope you like lemons!

May 2012 - I enjoyed staying at Villa Azzurra C very much. It was ideal for my situation.

Andrea [the owner] is a very attentive owner - during my stay he was at the villa every day.

I feel I was privileged to be able to stay at such a beautiful villa. Enjoy every moment of your stay.

April 2012 - This is by far the best location in Sorrento! On our previous trips there we used to look at the villa and think “What a place!”.

The villa is split into smaller units very well and the atmosphere is excellent. Azzurra C is the smallest of the units, but fits a couple very well. There is no sea view from this unit [which you have from the shared terrace], but the yard and garden outside the kitchen window is pleasant. The terrace above the harbour is open to all guests, so having your morning coffee watching the ferry traffic is no problem. I spent hours with my binoculars following the harbour and the cruise ships.

Your service has exceptional. We will surely turn to you again when we return to Italy.

Travel tips

  • The villa is located very centrally, so all shopping is close by.
  • There is a washing machine in the unit.
  • If you are tired after long walks on the hills, Ulysse Wellness has a spa with e.g. sports massage on Via del Mare 22 (phone 0818774923).

June 2011 - We have just spent one of the best weeks of our lives staying at Villa Azzurra in Sorrento. The view over the Bay of Naples is nothing short of sensational, facilities provided everything we needed, and the bonus was it was just five minutes walk to the main square.

Love you guys you made us feel a connection with Italy before we left with your funny and informative newsletters and your directions to and about the property were very clear.

Travel tips

  • The location gives you a wonderful base to make trips to Capri, Amalfi Coast and Pompeii -- bus, train and ferry services very reliable.
  • Hotel Syrenuse on north side of town wonderful location for romantic dinner on terrace overlooking water with piano player.

August 2010 - We have just come back from a fantastic week staying at Villa Azzurra C. You could not get a better location. Terrace and pool is right on the cliff edge in Sorrento overlooking the port and beautiful ocean views with boats and ferries coming and going all day. Right in town and very handy to shops and restaurants.

Very private accommodation with five apartments all different in size. Villa Azzurra C is only for two people. It has a bedroom with small kitchen and bathroom but quite adequate.

Andrea, the villa owner, was great and offers boat trips for the day around the Isle of Capri going to lots of caves and grottoes where you can jump off the boat and swim around. This is a great day.

August 2010 - We absolutely loved it! The room exceeded our expectations - the pictures on the Internet did not do it justice. It was very clean, quaint, and comfortable.

The terrace overlooking the bay was the highlight of the trip and the location was central and very convenient.

Travel tips

  • Be sure to take Andrea's boat trip around Capri!! It will be the highlight of your trip... be sure to take a mask and snorkel for all the cave swimming you will be doing.

June 2010 - We spent 2 weeks here and enjoyed our time

Very friendly owners.

The terrace and pool area had views which would be hard to match anywhere.

The apartment was just and the kitchen utilities were very poor.

Travel tips

  • The best location in Sorrento.

April 2010 - Villa Azzurra fit us to a T. For two people it was very comfortable.

Andrea, our host, was wonderful and very helpful.

The view from the terrace is a picture for a travel brochure.

Location is wonderful for enjoying Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast -- transportation was very close for all of our day touring.

Our experience with Summer in Italy was a very easy, pleasant experience. We will recommend your services to friends.

Travel tips

  • Great restaurants and shops. Andrea [the owner] can help you find anything you may need.
  • Suggest using the bus for traveling down the coast -- the road can take your breath away it is so narrow and curvey. Use the train for Pompeii.

June 2009 - Myself and partner had a fantastic stay at Villa Azzurra.

The location could not have been better. It was a five minute walk into town, but because it was set apart from other buildings, it was very quiet and peaceful.

The views from the terrace were particularly incredible. We spent ages just looking out to the Napoli coast. It was gorgeous! The building itself was fantastic too, and our apartment had all the amenities we needed.

If we had any questions, Andrea, the owner was always happy to help. He was easy to contact, and had lots of stories for us. We thought he was great!

I was very pleased with the customer service from yourselves, and appreciated all the e-mails prior to my departure. There is lots of choice of apartments on your website. We are already thinking about our next holiday, and we would definitely consider using Summer in Italy once again!

Travel tips

  • The best restaurant and best value restaurant is the Trattoria Emilia by the Marina Grande. Just watch out for the midgies!
  • The best bar is the lovely Cafe Latino which is surrounded by orange and lemon trees. It's beautiful and the cocktails are good too!
  • The transport options to visit all the local sites are good. We hired a scooter to travel the Amalfi coast (not as scary as you think-lots of fun)! We went by train to visit Pompeii, which was brilliant. And we went by boat to Capri and hired a small boat to travel round the island when we were there. There is so much to do!

July 2007 - Our stay at Villa Azzurra C was amazing. The terrace and pool were great - the perfect place to enjoy an espresso in the morning or a glass of wine while relaxing after a day of sight-seeing.

The view from the terrace was stunning. Also, the location couldn't have been more central. The villa is right in the middle of town -- close to shops, restaurants, nightlife.

It was perfect all around!

Travel tips

  • Ask Andrea, the owner, for tips and advice. He's very friendly and speaks English! He even took us out on his boat to Capri (for an extra fee)!

July 2007 - A very enjoyable holiday in an excellent location.

Everything in Sorrento was in walking distance from the apartment.

The private entrance/road to the villa made takes you away from the main street which makes it very peaceful.

The owner, Andrea, is very helpful and is always on hand to give advice on the local area.

Azzurra C apartment was a bit smaller than we expected and does not have a scenic view, but the communal terrace is only a few steps away. However, anybody staying there will not be disappointed with the whole package.

Travel tips

  • Try to get a private trip on the owners speedboat to the island of Capri. He will probably suggest it anyway. He charges about the same price as the ferry but you'll get to see the whole island. Very worthwhile.

May 2007 - The view and location were wonderful!

Andrea [the owner] was helpful, in the Italian sense, and very friendly. It just takes some getting used to the Italian level of service and accomodations. Overall, our stay was wonderful.

June 2006 - We loved our time in Sorrento.

The location of Villa Azzurra definitely contributed to this as we were so central and could get to anything within a few minutes.

June 2006 - We really loved staying at the villa mainly because the views and location were fantastic.

It was also very easy from here to get to the nearby islands.

As a couple we found the apartment fine for us as the bedroom and bathroom were nice, with a small but adequate kitchen - although no oven just hobs to use, however there are so many lovely restaurants around that this wasn't a problem!

Overall we loved our stay we felt that the villa had a far better view than any other that we could see.

We were also fortunate to be sharing the outside area with some other very nice couples.

Thanks for a lovely holiday! Also the emails to keep us updated with the holiday before we left kept our peace of mind and the information was very helpful.

You could not ask for a nicer place to stay in Sorrento. It won't be long, like the song says, before we "return to Sorrento". Thanks.

September 2005 - The 5-star view from the terrace was spectacular. We enjoyed having the opportunity to meet and socialixe with the people in the other two units.

Being close to town and directly above the marina and ferries was a major plus.

July 2005 - If you want to be in the heart of Sorrento, this place is it. You can walk to everything (we only used our car one day to drive the Amalfi coast while we stayed there).

There is no view other than of a courtyard from the small kitchenette in this unit, but the common area deck is outstanding. (see the website photos). The room was small, comfortable and quiet even though there are many tenants in this building. It has a small washing machine and is perfect for two people who want to explore Sorrento.

When we arrived the unit was a little different than the photos on the website - all new tile was installed and the unit appeared to be refurnished from when the web photos were taken.

Thank you very much for setting us up in two nice properties (both had very pleasant pwners as well) for our first trip to Italy. We will be back soon as we really enjoyed our vacation.

The point about the unit having been refurbished is correct -- gladly the unit was better than it appeared in the pictures and not vice versa :-)

August 2004 - When we booked Villa Azzura C it sounded too good to be true, so when we arrived we were delighted to find it was as wonderful as described by Summer In Italy. The villa is beautiful and is most certainly set in one of the best areas of Sorrento. The terrace, and it's views across the Bay of Naples, are magnificent.

It is a villa to be recommended, although there is part of us that would like to keep it our own secret for future use!
