Fantastic

March 2015 - Amazing location. Kitchen needs revamping - no bench space. Utensils and saucepans need to be close at hand when cooking - not in the living room. A mat on the floor would be warmer underfoot in the living room.

Keep up the good work!

Travel tips

  • Great gelati and coffee in the village.
  • Such interesting day trips to places like Siena, Volterra, Greve in Chianti.
  • Stay out of Florence!

Excellent

August 2014 - Villa Arnica B was lovely with everything you would need.

The kitchen is a little small, but it is very well equipped. The area is beautiful and there is plenty of wildlife. The pool area is beautiful and the grounds are well looked after. The cottage has 3 private sitting out areas, which we loved. The Jacuzzi pool was useful, although a couple of evenings we were plagued by insects, par for the course, I guess, near water. The laundry room with the washing machine also very useful.

We weren't keen on the track down to the villa as it is very steep and bumpy, but we did get used to it. The only problem we found with regard to the peace and quiet, is that there seem to be a lot of dogs (hunting) in the valley nearby, and they did bark a lot at certain times.

All in all the cottage was excellent, we had debated whether to rent the larger property on the site, but I’m glad we opted for the cottage, as I think the outside areas were better.

Pierangela [the caretaker] was very helpful, friendly, and I got the impression that nothing would be too much trouble.

I think Summer In Italy are excellent. I found the site quite by accident. Melanie has always been exceptionally helpful, anything I have asked, she has found me an answer.

Travel tips

  • We visited various towns and would recommend Volterra, San Gimignano, Siena (a little difficult to park here, try going early).
  • Greve in Chianti and Radda in Chianti, also worth a visit.
  • Castellina in Chianti itself is a lovely little town with plenty of restaurants.
  • Florence was a great day trip and we decided to park at the large Coop in Scandicci and take the tram. This was very easy to do once we had found the Coop!

Excellent

August 2012 - We enjoyed our stay, the location is excellent. The facilities in the villa are quite basic, but it didn't really matter as we spent most of our time on the terrace which was very relaxing.
