June 2015 - Villa Arborella was the perfect location near Greve in Chianti.

Everything worked perfectly in the house. We did not need air nor heat as it was June and just opened the window to let in the breeze. The pool was very frigid, but after warm day touring or driving through the countryside, it was invigorating to take a dip. The beds were a bit on the firmer side by US norms, but after a full day in the sun and drinking wine, sleep was easy!

Everything was within walking distance from the villa, took 10 minutes to get to the piazza for coffee/pastry in the morning.

Would love to have Greve in Chianti as our base again to explore Tuscany even more thoroughly by car. Great base to see Castellina in Chianti, Panzano, Siena and many other small towns... I was afraid Greve in Chianti would be too small, but there are enough restaurants and stores to get what you need if you want to cook or just have snacks on hand.

Monica is a great hostess, who was around to answer any questions or to troubleshoot anything.

The booking process with Summer In Italy was very easy and the service was exceptional. Thank you!

Travel tips

  • Go to Azienda Agricola Casamonti in Castellina in Chianti, to see the Cinta Senese pigs and have an inspired lunch and see the lovely surroundings.
  • Do not miss Montefioralle, a short, steep hike above Greve in Chianti.
  • Do not miss the pizza party Monica hosts on Thursday night, wonderful and welcoming.

Unfortunately, Villa Arborella can not be booked at this time.
