A great base for exploring the Amalfi Coast

July 2023 - A great base for exploring the Amalfi Coast. The apartment was very clean and very comfortable. I would stay again.

The host, Annamaria was really helpful in every area. Left us wine, lemons, home-made limoncello and lemon cake.

Summer In Italy is a company that I would use again as all employees communicated very well. Everyone very helpful with all my questions on a variety of areas. Thank you to all.

Travel tips

  • Lots of very good restaurants - Restaurant La Botte stood out for us, excellent food, reasonable prices.
  • Beaches good, free bathing alongside private bathing.
  • Pompeii a bus and a train ride away. Other towns (Amalfi, Positano) either an easy bus or boat ride.
  • Some lovely walks right from the apartment door.
  • Ravello not to be missed - an easy bus ride.
  • Tourist information in Minori are really helpful on all transport, walks, visits.
  • Pasticceria Sal De Riso in Minori - cakes and ice creams amazing.

Very good

September 2022 - Villa Anna is a nice and spacious apartment. You need to climb 80 steps to reach it but the view is stunning.

The kitchen is very small and the living room is a bit strange, without any windows. The house offers 2 spacious bathrooms and bedrooms. The terrace is spacious so you can eat outside instead of in the small kitchen.

The owner is really friendly!

Travel tips

  • You need to climb 80 steps to reach the house.
  • If you want to go to the beach you can easily walk because its really close if you take the walking path.
  • Don't forget to visit Sal de Riso for delicious cakes and pastries.

Excellent

April 2022 - We had a wonderful time at Villa Anna.

The owners were very accommodating and very helpful. We arrived late and they waited for us; they still took time to show us where everything was, help us settle in and give us advice on places to visit. There was even food there for us, so we were able to cook something to eat on our first night.

The villa was in an amazing location - in the town but quiet and away from the business of the centre of the town. There are a few steps up to the villa, but the view from the terrace more than made up for it. On the second night, we were able to watch an Easter procession from the terrace.

The owners left us with their phone number and said to call if we needed anything; they couldn't have been more helpful when we contacted them.

We were really impressed with SummerInItaly, and grateful that you spoke such good English. The newsletters are really good too.

Travel tips

  • The coastal walk to Ravello, Atrani and Amalfi is definitely worth doing but there are a LOT of steps!
  • The Cilento National Park was lovely and Paestum was very interesting.
  • Our favourite cafe was definitely Sal de Riso in Minori. Restaurant Giardiniello was really nice for a meal, and they did takeaway pizzas too. Osteria Il Pontile was a lovely restaurant - we had a great meal there too.
  • For meat, salami and cheese - you have to visit Macelleria Fratelli Di Lieto A. & R. in Minori!

June 2019 - We had a lovely time at this apartment. I would recommend to all of my friends. The owners of the apartment could not do enough for us and made our holiday. I would book this apartment again and am hoping to do this next year.

The apartment had all the equipment needed most of it all new.

Overall we had a excellent time staying at the apartment. Many thanks to the owners.

Travel tips

  • We found that you could use the local hotels pool for a day at a cost of 10 euros.
  • You are very close to the shops and bars of the area.
  • We visited Amalfi and Capri while we were there and would recommend these as places to visit.
  • There is free wi-fi at the lemon bar just down from the apartment. You will have to pay everywhere else mainly 5 euros for half an hour.

May 2019 - Villa Anna in Minori is a wonderful place to stay on the Amalfi coast.

Annamaria and Roberto, the owners, are wonderful people, who made their Villa Anna just the place where they would love to stay themselves - a little Italian paradise overlooking their lemon tree garden. Fresh flowers, the scent of lemons picked just an hour ago and a bottle of local wine welcomed us. Never mind that the kitchen is a bit cramped for 4 people by Northern standards, but you will live and have all the meals outside on the spacious terrace anyway.

We (2 adults and two kids) stayed for one week in early May - which we found much too short. The weather was the best of spring (sunny, with chilly evenings). The place is wonderfully quiet - in the morning only birds and a little stream running below the terraces may wake you up - especially compared to the unnerving coastal road, the touristic hotspot Amalfi and posh Ravello. Although quiet, Minori offers everything you need within a few steps from Villa Anna.

Minori is a good starting starting point for very fine walks although you should not underestimate the unavoidable amount of stair climbing. The scenery is breath-taking, the nature - especially in spring - is overwhelming, the people you meet are friendly without exception and every town has its own character, history and fine sights to discover. Have a look at Gillian Price 'Walking on the Amalfi Coast', Cicerone Guide for some ideas.

Naples, Pompeii are a little more than an hour by car, Amalfi, Positano, Sorrento are better reached by the regular coach services, (Amalfi 4 km and Maiori 2 km are also easy reached by walking - not along the coastal road but on scenic footpaths) during the high season there is even a boat service between the coastal towns and an all-year, though dear, service to Capri. If you bring a car (next time we won't), do take care to rent a parking space in advance - finding a place to park in the area is impossible for non-locals.

It has been a memorable holiday at Villa Anna and we would love to come back another spring.
