July 2011 - Nice villa. Excellent position for convenience to shops and restaurants. Lovely pool, although garden is a bit overlooked this did not spoil our enjoyment. Owners next door friendly and helpful but not obtrusive.

Kitchen was a bit awkward because small and a lack of workspace but generally villa was very comfortable and spacious.

We had a very pleasant holiday and everyone at Summer in Italy was very helpful. The detailed information sheets and instructions for getting to the villa were particularly helpful.

Thank you.

Travel tips

  • British visitors who like their tea should take their own kettle.

September 2009 - Villa Agata was lovely, it had all that we needed inside and out we had a party of 6 and we had plenty of room.

One of our party was in a wheelchair and the Villa was perfect for her to get in and out.

August 2007 - Nice quiet location for a family holiday in a village 8 km from Sorrento but with plenty of local restaurants, bars and shops within easy walking distance.

Buses convenient and cheap but can be unreliable (once resulting in a 55 Euro taxi ride back from Sorrento!).

Owners (living in house next door) could not have been more helpful and made us feel very welcome.

Pool was bigger than we expected and the villa was very comfortable and spacious.

Temperatures were noticeably cooler than in Sorrento in the evenings due to the altitude and breeze.

Good sized fridge, adequate cooking utensils and cutlery. Don't expect an electric kettle - apparently Italians don't use them.

Facilities in the Villa were clean and well maintained but rather inadequate indoor and outdoor seating (e.g. only 2 sun loungers) in a villa sleeping 6-7 and a surprising lack of wine glasses. The washing machine was comically small.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely go there again.

June 2007 - The villa was lovely, especially the pool and garden.

The kitchen was reasonably well equipped, although the oven, while operational, is past its best.

Additional comfortable seating in the lounge would have been good as the evenings were too cool to sit outside.

The bedrooms & bathrooms were fine.

When we first arrived the location seemed a long way from Sorrento but as other reviews had stated the buses provided a good service.

The villa proved to be great accommodation for our family holiday to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday.

I liked your web site and you always replied promptly to my inquiries, with nice and friendly e-mails. Thanks for your service, I am sure we will be booking again.

Travel tips

  • I know it might not be the Italian way but we found our little travel kettle very useful for making that cuppa in the morning.
  • We were told about the Foreigners Club - in the same building as the tourist information in Sorrento. Well worth a visit for a drink and to take in the panoramic view over the bay.
  • We found the restaurant just up the road from the villa, on the bend, almost opposite the supermarket, excellent. Sorry can not remember the name.
  • If you are getting the last bus back from Sorrento at 11.00 pm it does not go from the normal stop in the bus station but on the road on the other side of the railway station. We only found out by a stroke of luck, we were very grateful to a taxi driver who stopped and told us, very honest as he could have let us miss the bus and then we would have had to use him to get back to the villa.

August 2006 - Had a brilliant time, the owners were lovely.

The village of Sant'Agata was excellent, a lot cheaper than Sorrento and there is a brilliant restaurant just across the road.

There is a really good bus service to and from Sorrento though taxis are expensive, especially if you are coming back late.

September 2005 - Our stay at the Villa Agata started with the very personal and warm service of both the owner's representative in Sorrento - and later the owner himself.

Having started so well, the villa itself could not fail - and we had a fantastic time. The villa is built near the owner's own (very useful had there been any problems!). It is a very recently built villa which has been very well thought out in its layout. All the facilities, kitchen, showers, washing machine etc are superb. The pool is just the right size - manageable! - & got great use. Our family of 6, including three teenage children and 1 not far off - had plenty of room (and privacy!) - and fun.

The centre of Sant'Agata itself is a five minute walk away. Sant'Agata is an unpretentious small town; it's not particularly attractive, yet it's got a great feel to it - it's a 'genuine' place that you become attached to very quickly.

Public transport is first rate taking you easily to Sorrento and from there farther afield. We found it a great base to visit the usual places nearby - Pompeii, Vesuvius, Capri, Naples... But even better is the network of footpaths with Sant'Agata at their centre which lead one all over the Sorrento peninsula.

And the countryside is beautiful. Great place, great villa, great time! One complaint - having to leave.

The biggest memory was the warmth of the people

Very impressed with your service. Many thanks!

June 2005 - We had a wonderful time at Villa Agata, our only complaint was the lack of facilities in the kitchen. There was no kettle or teapot the cooker was very old and not very reliable, it made self catering difficult.

There was some noise from the community centre near by but overall we were very sheltered from any noise and the garden was very safe for our 3 year old.

There could have been more sunloungers, there were only 2 even though the villa is supposed to sleep 7, the owner did supply us with 2 deck chairs though.

The village was lovely, there were plently of places to eat, the local shops were excellent for provisions also and the villagers were really friendly.

There was an excellent bus service between Sant Agata and Sorrento and neighbouring villages so you could get around easily without a car.

I would recommend Villa Agata we had a great time there.

June 2005 - We all enjoyed it. We were made to feel very welcome both by the owner and caretaker.

The villa was very clean. The pool maintenance was excellent too.

It was lovely to wake up surrounded by mountains.

You made the whole process extremely easy. I just happened upon your website when browsing. Your e mails are friendly, payment was easy. Directions and advice regarding the property were accurate.

August 2004 - We enjoyed our time at Villa Agata very much. The owners were very friendly. The position of the villa is great for walking into Sant'Agata. There is a lot more to do in Sant Agata (bars, restaurants, shops, hotels etc.) than we expected.

There was a lot of noise each night from nearby disco's, outdoor events and lots of barking dogs nearby in the night; plus the rubbish emptied at 4am, but these were all things that were obviously outside the control of the owners and not something that we would complain about. We still had a great time and would recommend Villa Agata to our friends.

You were all very helpful during the booking process and arrival / departure arrangements were excellent. We would definitely book through Summer in Italy again when holidaying in Italy.

August 2004 - What a fantastic villa. It was superbly located, close to the supermarket & bars & restaurants, yet quiet and secluded.

The villa was beautifully decorated and furnished. The pool was much bigger than we expected and the children adored it. The garden was lovely. The neigbours were extremely friendly but never intrusive. We had the most marvellous holiday.

The location of Sant'Agata is ideal for visiting Sorrento and the Bay of Naples and for the Amalfi Coaast, yet the villa was perfect for just relaxing - the best of both worlds.

We would recommend this property without hesitation.

Unfortunately, Villa Agata can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
