October 2009 - We enjoyed Casa Vinca and the quiet country atmosphere very much.

The owners were very helpful, well with the exception of encouragement to drive into Florence. That was not good.

We were lucky to be there with 3 other English speaking couples of similar ages and enjoyed the friendship.

It is a beautiful location. We would repeat that stay.

Travel tips

  • Be aware the washing machine takes 2 hours and there is no dryer, just a rack for hanging outside.
  • The owners provided a very good list of suggested restaurants.
  • We really enjoyed Volterra, and do not drive to Florence (unless you have done it before), even if you do have a GPS.

October 2007 - We absolutely loved Casa Vinca and would recommend it to anyone.

The villa was very comfortable and the grounds and pool were lovely.

We enjoyed driving around the area and seeing all the little towns and villages. It is very east to get to both Siena and Florence.

We enjoyed working with Summer in Italy and were pleased with the quick response to all our questions.

  • You will need a car to get around.

July 2007 - Wow - Casa Vinca was absolutely splendid!

The invitation for the guests to share an evening with the hosts added a personal touch and was appreciated.

Summer in Italy provided a superior service. Very helpful and professional.

Travel tips

  • If you want a treat go to this villa. If you like to see magnificent horses - this is the place.
  • Car required.
  • Beautiful sites close by.

  • Be prepared to be adopted by cats, we enjoyed them.
  • Take your camera, a must.
