Perfect!

October 2016 - Casa Rica B is perfect! Clean, spacious, gorgeous view, modern and close to the bus stop, restaurants and church. The grounds are meticulous, beautiful plants, very nice furniture inside and out, modern accommodations. Must be able to climb stairs but the view is spectacular!!!

Highly recommend Casa Rica B, we had a fabulous stay!

The owners were so nice and helpful!

Summer In Italy was very helpful. We booked according to accommodations and recommendations by others.

Travel tips

  • The owners advised us of activities, bus schedule and private boat tour.
  • Positano is a short distance away and taking the bus is the best way to the town due to narrow roads and limited parking.
  • We walked up to 2 closeby restaurants.

Fantastic

March 2015 - The view and outside terraces of Casa Rica B can't be beat. Our family stayed comfortably in the apartment. We cooked a couple of meals in our short time there and had everything we needed. There was a little lift system for our luggage which made it much easier to get everything to and from the unit and the parking area.

Communication and information received from Summer In Italy was great. Thank you!

Travel tips

  • The 10 minute walk into town felt a little dangerous at night because of the narrow roads and lack of sidewalks but we had no incidents.
  • We loved Restaurant Il Ritrovo for dinner. Possibly our best dinner in all of our 2 week European vacation.

September 2014 - We loved Casa Rica B...

Great view. The garden around the villa was really nice. Wi-Fi was good.

Good walking access to town and restaurants. Long downhill walk to Positano was amazing.

We would come back to the Amalfi Coast anytime!

Travel tips

  • Casa Rica B is a great place if you want to be out of the hustle and bustle of Positano.
  • Easy access to the buses going down to Positano.
  • Great restaurants at walking distance.

July 2014 - We loved our stay at Casa Rica B!

The apartment is well equipped, with everything a family with 2 kids might need: cutlery, coffee maker, washing machine, TV, Wi-Fi.

The views from the apartment and the terraces are amazing, day and night. When we booked the apartment we knew there will be approximately 90 stairway steps to go in and out but I can tell you that these stairs are not a problem, especially because the parking is up the stairs.

The owner, Mr. Raffaele, is a lovely person, customer oriented and made us feel welcomed and valuable guests. Please continue to take such good care of your guests! Hope to be able to come again next year!

I like doing business with Summer In Italy. Keep up the high quality standard and be true to your values.

Travel tips

  • Have breakfast in the morning on the balcony.
  • The parking space is good and, during our stay, we mainly used the bus to go to the beach. It comes every hour, just need to plan your exit according to the bus schedule.
  • Have a dinner at Restaurant Il Ritrovo. It is an amazing place in the village and you will also get a 10% discount.

June 2014 - Casa Rica B is the nicest holiday apartment we ever had!

Breathtaking views over Positano and the sea... Really quiet and relaxing... The apartment is bright and well equipped... Plenty of hot water for showers, big fridge/freezer...

We found the owner really helpful and friendly and he did not intrude into our space... A very nice man.

Keep up the good work Summer In Italy! Thanks

Travel tips

  • The village of Montepertuso is very nice, the people friendly, the local shop and restaurants good value.
  • The local bus to Positano is just outside the property and is a convenient way to get up and down the mountain.
  • Do book a taxi online to get from Naples airport to Casa B and back.

July 2013 - Spent a lovely week at Casa Rica.

Mr Raffaele [the owner] was very helpful.

The views were terrific and Montepertuso was wonderful. The drive up to Casa Rica B is quite challenging but the parking was good and secure.

The weather in July was excellent and we enjoyed a number of meals on the terraces as well as at the excellent local restaurants.

Travel tips

  • Getting the bus back up to Montepertuso wasn't easy, getting on was a pure matter of pushing and shoving!!
  • Il Ritrovo, one of the restaurants in the village was great, the local bar/cafe was vibrant and the local shop was helpful.
  • Pompeii and Herculaneum were magical.

May 2013 - We had a great time at Casa Rica B, would stay there again. Very high above Positano.

Manager was very helpful although English is not too good.

We walked down to Positano twice, rode the bus back €1,60. Hiked to hole in the mountain and up to the Path of the Gods. Drove the length of the Amalfi Coast twice.

Two of the best restaurants in the area are located a short walk from the apartment in Montepertuso, Donna Rosa, and Il Ritrovo (ate there three times).

We would stay here again.

Travel tips

  • We drove all over Italy from Lake Como to the Amalfi Coast. Turned in the car at Rome and used the subway.
  • We used our Verizon iPhone 5 in Italy. $4.99 per month and .99 per min. Worked great when we needed it. Used Sygic offline app for navigation on the iPhone, worked very well. Changed SIM card in ipad 3 when we arrived, we used TIM, always had good broadband so always had email and Skype. Cost for the SIM card and two gigs of data was €27,00. Did use the translator on the Apple devices a few times and they worked well.

April 2013 - Great location. The owner was very helpful, friendly and kind enough to carry our case down the steps. There are not as many steps to this apartment as other places on the Amalfi Coast.

The area, Montepertuso is an excellent location, wonderful to be high enough for fabulous views and very quiet at night but still with great restaurants within walking distance. Easy bus trip into Positano. Great little mini-mart close by.

Summer in Italy Is an excellent website. The best accommodation website we have used in the four months of travelling so far. The personal help we received from staff member Melanie was much appreciated. We will always use this website whenever possible.

Travel tips

  • If you like a soft bed then you will prefer the two singles. However if you like a firm bed, you will love the king size!

September 2012 - We really enjoyed our stay in Italy and have to say are most impressed with the service you provide at Summer In Italy!

The actual accommodation is clean and tidy but it is the view that is most amazing!

We had a few problems meeting up with the owner initially due to the language barrier but once we were at the apartment he was most helpful and we had everything we needed.

Overall we had an excellent stay in Positano and hope to return in the near future!

Once again thanks for all your help.

Travel tips

  • The local bus stops just up the road just before the hour every hour (this changes with the season though).
  • Takes around 20 minutes to walk down the steps from the village into Positano, its a beautiful walk!

August 2012 - We truly enjoyed our stay at Casa Rica B, the place is cozy with all that you need including a well equipped kitchen. The view from both terraces are exceptional and so worth that trek to get there.

Its location is a little far up but I think this was the advantage we were mixed in with the very friendly locals and excellent, honest, generous well priced restaurants. There are also two small stores with all the basics you will need, coffee bar and a convenient local bus service. You can find a butcher near the main beach. The beach are pebbles and very expensive 12 € per person if you want to rent an umbrella (free beach available).

Travel tips

  • You can find a butcher near the main beach.
  • You must go to restaurant Il Ritrovo, a real treat.

Fantastic

August 2012 - The location is few km above Positano, which makes it on one hand great because of the quite and the country side atmosphere. On the other hand, it's a long way (due to road complication) to go up and down to and from Positano. Bus use is an option but you have to use its timetable. Car is recommended although high driving skills required for this road.

The villa is one of a few, located on the lower part, which makes it a 100 stairs climb (not so bad, in this area, 100-200 stairs and even more are normal). The villa itself is well equipped, very clean and the view is beyond any expectations... worth it all! You have a complete privacy, the village is beautiful and there are few great restaurants just a few minutes walk from there, no car use is needed.

Overall -- highly recommended!

Summer In Italy did a great job and fulfilled their part of the deal, no complaints. Definitely will recommend their services! Thank you!

Travel tips

  • Use a car, bring with you food supply, although there is a grocery store not far.

July 2012 - We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Rica B. The view was amazing.

It is not in the Positano town, it was in the village on the hill above Positano, which is why the view is great. There are restaurants in the village (5 minute walk) for dinner and we shopped at the little supermarket for supplies and made breakfast and some dinners at home. After a long day of sightseeing it was nice to come home, relax with a wine in the balcony and enjoy the view. It was fine for day trips as you didn't need to drive back down the hill into town same if you had a day at the beach or to Amalfi, Ravello, etc.

We had a car as we were traveling with 3 children under 10 (there was a carpark), but there was a bus stop right near the villa that went into town and onto Amalfi.

Mr Raffaele, the owner, was a lovely man.

Thanks for your advice and help. We loved our Italian holiday.

Travel tips

  • In Positano there are public carparks on the way down the hill, there is also one right at the bottom near the center of town. We parked in both and the extra $1 euro an hour was worth paying in the center of town. it is a long walk back up the hill especially with kids.

June 2012 - Fabulous location, even with 2 small children, it was safe and secure. Well equipped with everything needed. Very helpful owner, nothing was too much trouble

Excellent service and again nothing was too much trouble for Summer In Italy, would use again and recommend.

Travel tips

  • Bus leaves the stop above here apartment at about 10 minutes to the hour, the only way to get to Positano really though always very busy.
  • We hired a boat from Positano one day for 4 hours at 80 euros and was well worth it, would definitely recommend this.
  • We had 2 small children and found everyone to be exceptionally helpful and accommodating, would definitely return.

September 2011 - The views from the balcony and patio garden are unbeatable. The villa is actually not in Positano, but in Montepertuso which is several miles uphill. This is actually a bonus. The location is peaceful and attractive and the village (a short work further along the road) has an excellent store and three or four restaurants -- two of which we found excellent.

You have to walk 99 steps down to the villa (and hence back up to the road). This makes it unsuitable for anyone with a disability. I walk with a stick and found it manageable, but some people would not. The parking space is secure and we left the car there all the time, preferring to use the hourly bus rather than dice with death with the aggressive, competitive, and rude local drivers on the narrow winding roads. You can get around very well on buses and on the public ferries (to Capri, Amalfi etc) at reasonable prices.

The villa itself is comfortable but not fancy. It's built into a hill so the two bedrooms at the back have no windows. Everything provided was fine. The only (small) additional things needed are some wine glasses, mugs, and tea towels.

The owner is very helpful.

A reminder to our guests going to private homes: do not hesitate and ask for anything that you might find helpful during your stay. You can ask the owners directly, or you can contact our staff and let us do the job for you. Property owners are eager to please, but occasionally some items might be missing. Other items, such as coffee mugs, are not really part of the Italian culture (I am sure the house had espresso cups!) and might not be available "by default". In both cases, if the owner knows they will do their best to please you and will not be bothered by the request. If you don't feel like asking them directly, ask us instead -- we are here to help!

July 2011 - We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Rica B.

If you have a car, this is a terrific apartment since parking is included. Parking is hard to come by in Positano area. It is in a very convenient location to several of the best restaurants in the Positano area, because it is so high up in the hills, close to Montepertuso. Taking the bus was convenient from the bus stop just up the road.

Mr. Raffaele, the apartment owner, was very helpful and accommodating.

The view from the apartment balcony was incredible.

The apartment was perfect for my wife and I and our 2 teenage kids. Would definitely recommend it to families that don't mind stairs.

An excellent experience. Thanks for all your help!

Travel tips

  • If you are into checking out the nightlife in Positano, then this place isn't conveniently located, but if you want a quiet and comfortable place to stay, with a beautiful view of the north side of Positano, and you can handle walking up 35-40 steps to get to your car or the bus stop, then this is the place.
  • There is a stairway/path going down to Positano, that is over 1000 steps, which makes for good exercise and offers many enjoyable vantage points of Positano that you wouldn't get otherwise.

June 2011 - We had a wonderful week at Casa Rica B.

The apartment was just what we needed - big enough for the 4 of us, with a balcony and view we loved. The apartment was clean and spacious and extras like the towels provided and the wifi was great to have.

Mr. Raffaele [the owner] was very friendly and helpful and helped all 4 girls with our bags down all those steps (was much appreciated) and even offered to help with parking.

We rented a car for the week, and appreciated it that we did not have to go through the Positano Town traffic to get to the apartment. Having a reserved parking space was a welcome thought when driving home and struggling to find parking in town.

The washing machine facility enabled us to have clean clothes for our second week at another destination without the need for hand washing - an added bonus!

We took the steps down to the beach in Positano (about 40 minutes walk), and then the bus back up to the apartment which worked perfectly, with the bus stop just outside the Casa Rica gate. All those steps also helped with the guilty feeling of all the gelato we had.

The Restaurant Donna Rosa in Montepertuso (10 min walk) was a great fine dining experience and definitely worth recommending.

I will recommend Summer in Italy website and services to all my friends - we enjoyed the website.

Travel tips

  • A day trip to Capri is definitely worth going. It's 50 euros for a full day excursion going on a boat to all the caves and around the Capri Island, and then stopping in Capri for a 4 hour visit. The Blue Cave cost an extra 12 euros to go in - but is weather permitting.
  • Restaurant Donna Rosa is a great fine dining experience. Especially one of their signature dishes, the black and white seafood pasta is amazing!
  • The walk down the steps from Montepertuso to Positano centre actually no walking and 40 minutes of only "stepping". Hence, if you have knee problems, rather go the route along the road.
  • The bus stop is right outside the Casa Rica gate - and easy to use.
  • It is close enough to nearby towns to have excursions to Amalfi, Sorrento and Pompeii easily.
  • For souvenir shopping go to Amalfi town - in general the shops are cheaper and there are more options.
  • Do not buy the limoncello from road side vendors - but rather from shops where you can taste it before you buy it.
  • Do have "beach" days where the only thing to do is go down to the beach, get a nice spot (it is 12 euros per person for the chair and umbrella option for the whole day) and just enjoy it.

I would recommend having a car here and not to be dependent on the bus service.
