Travel tips

  • The complex is up a hill, so there's nothing on the doorstep. But a 10 minute walk or 3 minute drive away is the local village, with things going on.
  • The river boats are a little further away, about a 15 minute walk (downhill there, uphill back), and there are buses as well.
  • I went on a lovely day trip hiking: I drove along the coast and into the hills and walked from there. The local staff are wonderful, and will give guidance on this.

  • We loved the boat trip to Bellagio, the morning walk to the bakery, the view, the pool.
  • The parking was a challenge with a big car. There's plenty of parking space near the church.

  • Visit Bellagio and Villa Carlotta.
  • The restaurants on the lakeside at Lenno are good value as are those in Tremezzo.
  • We ventured up to the north of Lake Como and got as far as St Moritz experiencing some breathtaking scenery.
  • A car is advisable.
