September 2011 - Casa Luma is a lovely apartment in a great location.

Lily [the owner] was very welcoming and even left us gifts from her farm. We will definitely be back. The apartment is better than the pictures portray. It was a nice surprise when we arrived.

Travel tips

  • For all your food needs the little shop at the top of the steps near Casa Luma is great and the lady in there is so helpful and friendly.

December 2010 - Casa Luma is a great "home" away from home. It has all the amenities you need to live. It has great Internet high speed connection so really a great place to also work. It's a very well built and well constructed home. New with all the modern facilities including great dishwasher and clothes washer.

The kitchen had very good cooking utensils and equipment and we cooked many meals there. The living rooms have great high ceilings The house has very interesting new and antique furniture

A Really good bathroom and lots of heating and AC for any type of weather.

The biggest asset of Casa Luma are the owners. Matteo, the owners' son, lives with his great family next door and he did everything and I mean everything to help us make the holiday great. The airlines lost our luggage and Matteo helped advice us and organise transport back to Naples airport for a pick up. When my wife was sick and the drugstores were closed Matteo brought around what cold and fever tablets he had at home. When we arrived late around 10:30 pm tired and very hungry Matteo went home and brought us pasta, salad and fruit for late dinner and so on...This level of help and neighborly help is hard to come by in most places!! Thank you Matteo!!! Not to mention the amazing eggs his mother brought us from her backyard.

Travel tips

  • IF you want real peace and quiet visit Positano in Dec as you won't find many tourists during the week before Christmas. Many of the restaurants are closed so your choices are less.
  • Positano is on a hill so you have to expect and get used to all the climbing up and down steps but it is great exercise so embrace it!!!
  • Casa Luma is about 5 mins walk from the main center. It's off the roads so you don't get the traffic noise.
  • There is a small food market about 1 min walk from Casa Luma so you're never far from groceries.

September 2010 - It was a beautiful place, well maintained by the owners.

Travel tips

  • If you have older guests who have trouble climbing stairs, there are 90 steps to get to the villa (honestly it's not much), but it was a bit difficult for my parents.

September 2010 - It was a great place to stay in Positano, and on the Amalfi coast area. Lily, the owner/host was very helpful.

Travel tips

  • Don't bring a vehicle! Really no parking available that makes sense. Local transport works well.
  • Be prepared for a lot of climbing, stairs and otherwise!! Wouldn't advise this for anyone who isn't in decent shape.

July 2010 - The house is beautifully furnished with all the modern conveniences, and fully air-conditioned. The owner in known by ALL and her family runs a fleet of 11 boats, including the Positano Jet that travels to Capri daily.

The house is well located, but you must be aware that Positano is a hill town and there are steps everywhere; however, the minimarket at the top of the pedestrian street where it is situated, delivers and is a phone call away, plus there are porters that carry your luggage up and down the steps, and everyone knows house and the owner.

We were greeted by the owner, as scheduled, and she had provided a bottle of wine as a "welcome" present.

Our stay in Positano was enjoyable and unforgettable, mostly because of the location, the accommodations and the friendly neighborhood.

Everything was as described in your website, And BETTER!

Travel tips

  • The location is perfect, on a quiet pedestrian street, near the center of town and very accessible to the beach, the restaurants that are featured in the guide books and to the boat rides for side trips to Capri and the Amalfi Coast.

July 2010 - We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the hospitality of the owner of Casa Luma.

While browsing through the internet, we luckily fell upon your website. The Summer in Italy service and email conversations related to the booking of Casa Luma were simply excellent. Keep up the good work, and we will surely be back as guests for future summer bookings.

Travel tips

  • As far as transportation from and to the airport in Naples is concerned, I highly recommend booking a private shuttle with the Viator company. Very reliable, fastest way, and very practical if you're a big group/family. www.viator.com

April 2010 - We had a wonderful holiday at Casa Luma.

The owner was most helpful, was very pleasant and welcoming and her son was living next door so was available if there were any problems.

The house was exceptionally well equipped and we wanted for nothing.

Keep up the good work. I love to travel to Italy with my family and would highly rate your company.

August 2009 - Our week at Casa Luma was amazing.

The apartment is beautifully furnished, the location was close enough to the beach (although the 260 steps were a little tough in the summer heat!) but far enough from the tourist noise to make it an ideal place to stay.

The air conditioning was also a must in August.

The owner was incredibly helpful and very well connected, so all of our questions and requests were quickly addressed - from parking to the best way to get to Capri. Mid-week, fresh tomatoes from her garden were left for us!

I would highly recommend Casa Luma and will definitely be staying again in the future

Your service was great... thanks for your attention to detail. I will definitely be using your service again next time I visit Italy.

Travel tips

  • Positano is very central to all the sights of the Amalfi Coast. However, my 75 year old father found Positano quite hard going due to all the steps.
  • We had a car which was really convenient but beware of the insane Italian drivers - not for the faint-hearted!

April 2009 - Great villa with personality, excellent location and upscale decor and feel. We would certainly stay at Casa Luma again and recommend it to friends and family.

It is a great location (assuming steps are not a deal breaker) while being close to the heart of town but where you meet real residents of Positano (the market up the stairs could not have been better and their staff was incredibly warm and helpful).

We enjoyed having coffee, lunch or limoncello on the delightful and large terrace with a picture perfect view of the sea and the iconic Positano vertical view which changes based on time of day, sunlight etc.

The owner was extremely friendly and owns one of the boating companies. She brought us a homemade liquer and spoke perfect English. We knew if we had a problem (we didn't) she would be able to assist.

The amenties are all high-end and this villa should a strong option when considering the 5 star hotels in town at a fraction of the price.

You all are fantastic and especially in dealing with Americans with 102 questions like me. We felt 100% confident in what we were getting and will certainly use your site again - hopefully, soon on our next trip.

Great website too - really all around an incredible service that you all provide.

Travel tips

  • Ask questions - the owner and Summer in Italy staff can handle anything and do so with grace and ease. That made the trip so much easier.
  • The location is great - steps above Le Sirenuse so assuming you dont mind walking up stairs from the town center, we loved the location.
  • We had a great driver assist with bags but be sure to arrange as it is diffcult to carry your own bags up or down the stairs.
  • Be sure to visit the market up the stairs and meet the family that runs it. They took me over to their other store to look at fresh vegatables and even gave me a flower to bring to my wife.
  • Explore all sides of Positano - this is a great location and starting point to walk anywhere.
  • We loved the nearby shops and exploring we could do all throughout Positano.
  • One thing we enjoyed was the covered terrace despite initially wanting an open aired one. The weather was overcast and rained a few times. We could still enjoy the terrace despite any weather changes.

November 2008 - We enjoyed our stay at Casa Luma very much.

The only negative was that the villa was further from the beach than we had thought. The description says it is 80 steps from the road, but that is from the upper road not the lower road so it was a steeper and longer climb than we had anticipated.

The property was just as described and the owner was very helpful and met us on the beach since we arrived by ferry from Capri. She also provided us with bottles of homemade limoncello and grappa, which were enjoyed by all of us during our stay. My only suggestion is that we would have enjoyed watching some American TV in the evenings, such as CNN or HBO, but they were not available. Other than that, the villa was perfect inside and well-stocked and well-equipped.

I would certainly book with Summer in Italy again.

Travel tips

  • Wear flat shoes and don't bring guests who are not in good shape.

September 2008 - Beautiful apartment and a great location, very close to the centre.

Very modern and spacious, and everything works.

The owner's mother left us a bottle of her beautiful home-made limoncello and eggs and figs from her garden.

Every room is air-conditioned.

June 2008 - We really did enjoy the villa. The location is perfect and the owners were very helpful and kind.

On the downside, it does not have the best view, and the bedrooms get no natural light.

Unfortunately, Casa Luma can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
