The location was super

August 2017 - We were a family of 3 and we thought the location was super and, for a place that was shared by quite a few families, it was very quiet.

Casa Katia I was on the first floor, so we shared a garden/patio area with others but it was no problem when we were there. Some of the ground floor units have their own terrace, probably that would be more convenient. The kitchen had only 2 burners, no oven or microwave and limited utensils and dishes. The pool was quite big.

Summer In Italy services were super and I don't think you need to do anything else. Thanks so much!

Travel tips

  • San Donato itself has a just a few restaurants.
  • Market day in Tavernelle Val di Pesa was fun but go in the morning - the map said it was open later but that was not the case.
  • Our daughter had her birthday while we were there and the Gelateria in Tavernelle Val di Pesa made a wonderful birthday cake and we went for pizza at the local place that evening.
  • San Gimignano is not far and worth a day - lovely old city.
  • The wine of the farm is very nice and we bought some bottles as gifts for friends.

Great place to stay

August 2016 - Casa Katia I is a great place to stay with 4 people, although the bathroom is quite small. The property and the surroundigs are the best: nice pool area, total flexibility where to sit outside and even a fire place where you can have a BBQ. This is great place to enjoy a few days.

Lots of tourists in the famous cities, however it is great fun if you enjoy historic buildings and sunny weather.

  • Grocery stores and famous cities (like Florence, Siena and San Gimignano) around.
