September 2015 - OMG! What a perfect villa! Beautiful furniture, spacious, well equipped. Just love.

The apartment was well situated and the view from the terrace was inspiring. It had air-conditioning and a washing machine as well. Also, the apartment had very fast and efficient Wi-Fi connection.

We were greeted with homemade pastry and coffee when we arrived and we had access to the caretaker when there was a question or concern.

A magnificent week spent in Praiano. I would recommend this apartment to everyone!

I will recommend Summer In Italy anytime I get a chance. You guys do a great job staying in touch and being available.

Travel tips

  • The local buses do run on a schedule but they are often so full that the bus driver doesn't stop. This is important to be aware of.
  • We took a day trip to Capri from the local marina which was great! Boa is the name of the service.
  • No need to travel to Amalfi or Positano! The local market had everything we needed, fresh meats and cheeses, vegetables and fruits, wines and water! Everyone at the store was most helpful.
  • Anna, the local proprietor of LIZART Ceramics was gracious and charming.

It was spacious and well appointed and the view from the balcony was just wonderful.

Very happy with my dealings with Summer In Italy. I had many questions regarding the location and they were answered very promptly and politely.

Travel tips

  • Be prepared to walk up and down many steps!
  • Bus transport was an easy way to get around and not expensive.
  • We enjoyed 2 spectacular hikes - the Path of the Gods - and Valley of the Mills (from Amalfi)
  • Tutto per Tutti grocery store is very close and stocks pretty well everything. Even has a wine cellar with wine tasting at times.

May 2014 - Wow, what a fantastic apartment Casa Giuliana B.

The owners and family where so helpful and what a beautiful spread, of fresh brewed coffee and cake, on arrival.

Definitely will recommend to anyone wanting to go to the Amalfi Coast.

Thank you to Summer in Italy as this was by far the best place we stayed at while in Italy and Sicily no other property came close to what we had at Praiano.

Travel tips

  • Local bus stops down the bottom of street near the Grocery Store that has all you need in the way of food.
  • Owners organised boat day trip to Capri for us that was fantastic.

September 2013 - We had a wonderful experience. The accommodation was very clean and spacious and there was always someone available to answer any of our questions.

The view is spectacular from the terrace which was four walk-outs.

We loved the experience with Summer In Italy. Our questions were answered promptly. We would definitely book with Summer In Italy again.

Travel tips

  • We arranged for a car transfer with Amalfi Car which we would highly recommend. We were picked up at the Naples train station and driven directly to our destination (110 euros). Our driver, Nicola, was great.
  • The local bus stop and grocery store are only minutes away.
  • Most of the restaurants are on the other side of town (west side), but we enjoyed the 15 minute walk.

September 2013 - We enjoyed staying at Casa Giuliana B very much. We wanted a relaxing vacation and found just what we were looking for.

From the first day we were there the neighbors were very friendly always with a warm buon giorno or buona sera.

We are happy with Summer in Italy and have already passed on your information and recommended Giuliana B. Your site is very helpful.

Travel tips

  • Bring comfortable walking shoes. We walked quite a bit when we could have taken the bus at Tutto per Tutti (a great small grocery store). As we walked to our favorite restaurant in Praiano a few times near San Gennaro church and the bus stop for their grilled fish, La Brace, we took some really nice pictures.
  • We used public transportation to Positano, Amalfi, Ravello and Sorrento meeting an interesting group of people from Europe, Canada, Australia and the U.S.

July 2013 - The house itself and the very charming direct environment made us feel at home immediately. The view was stunning!

The steps down to the beach and (worse) vice versa were a real challenge for us (as we are used to flat Holland).

Travel tips

  • Tutto per tutti is a marvellous shop: we enjoined it very much buying our food and wine there.
  • Don't expect a dishwasher or espresso machine in the kitchen.
  • Try the bus to Positano and vice versa. It's a real adventure! Bus stop is down the road.

May 2013 - We absolutely loved Casa Giuliana B. We really enjoyed the villa. The owners were lovely and so very helpful. We are definitely going back.

The Tutto per Tutti market is very close and it was a joy to go every day and select our wines, meats and wonderful cheeses.

It was the most relaxing vacation I have every had. We just couldn't believe we were so fortunate to be sitting on our large balcony overlooking the Med while having a glass of wine. Divine!!

Thank you to Summer in Italy - you were excellent to deal with and we told several people to contact you so I hope they do. We also would like to thank Claudio for his drivers as they were very prompt and extremely courteous and we will call him again.

Travel tips

  • Day trips are very easy from Praiano. Sita buses offer 3-day coupons, etc. so you can hop on and off in various towns.
  • There is an iron and ironing board, plus a blow dryer in the casa.

We loved our stay at Casa Giuliana B. Meals on the patio were a real delight.

Summer in Italy was a good company to deal with.

The owners were very hospitable and eager to please.

The folks at Summer in Italy were more than helpful... any question I had was answered promptly... I would definitely book with them again!

September 2012 - Our trip and stay at Casa Giuliana B was one of the best vacations that we have ever had. We were lucky enough to be able to spend it with our good friends from Austin, Texas. It was the vacation of a lifetime.

The accommodations were excellent and we quickly found our way around with the help of the owners of the casa. We were close to a small grocery which was wonderful for obtaining our staples.

We used the Praiano location to travel around the area... Amalfi, Positano, Sorrento, Capri, Ravello and Tramonti.

We are trying to figure out when we can come back soon.

Summer In Italy, please keep doing what you are doing. We found you on the internet and were very pleased with how you interacted with us when we contacted you. You were always there to help us when we needed it. Your staff was prompt, courteous, informative and a pleasure to work with. We are telling anyone we come in contact with about your company if they are talking about coming to Italy. Thank you so much this was the best trip.

Travel tips

  • Probably the most important tip is to try to get in some extra walking before you head to Praiano.
  • There is good bus service within Praiano and to the surrounding towns. There are also drivers who will take you to various locations for a fee.
  • We did not have a bad meal in Praiano, Restaurant Il Pirata by the Praiano beach was excellent, but once again you had to do some walking to get there.
  • One of the most impressive events of our trip was our trip to Tenuta San Francesco (winery) in Tramonti. This is a family run winery that offers tours of their vineyards, as well as an opportunity to dine at the winery and taste their wines. This is an experience none of us will ever forget.
  • The grocery store (Tutto per Tutti) was right down the street.
  • The best thing about the trip is that we were in a community where the Italian people lived and they made us feel like we belonged there and we will never forget that experience.
  • Please remember when you are traveling to Italy that they are not equipped with all the conveniences of your home, and that is not a bad thing.

July 2012 - Myself, my wife and our three children aged 16 to 21 all loved Casa Giuliana B. It was very spacious and well maintained and the owners were extremely helpful to us.

There was a great little grocery store just around the corner and we used it every morning to get fresh bread and cheese for breakfast.

We would relax on the terrace before dinner and enjoy the incredible view over the town and the ocean.

Praiano made us feel so welcome. It was a nice respite from the touristy shops of Positano yet had so many great restaurants that tried a different one almost every night.

We would recommend this apartment without question.

Travel tips

  • Lots of steps, but amazingly we almost got used to them.
  • Had one night at the Africana Club for dinner. Expensive but a great experience eating in the grotto.
  • The small restaurants in La Praia Beach are really good.
  • We rented mask and fins from La Boa dive shop and swam around the coast.

September 2011 - Italy never disappoints and neither does Summer in Italy. We had the best two weeks at Casa Giuliana B in Praiano on the Amalfi Coast.

The village was almost equal distance between Positano and Amalfi that allowed us to visit by bus whenever we wished to be part of the crowd, but the village location gave us the serenity and total immersion into Italian daily life that we enjoyed so much.

Our villa was pristine and the landlady and family so kind and welcoming. We would recommend it highly and in fact we did on the flight home!!

We had contracted with Summer in Italy a couple of years ago, so knew that booking would be excellent and every thing would proceed as it should. Very professional and yet caring and friendly. Keep up the good work.

Travel tips

  • The grocery store just down and around the corner had everything you would need, including a great wine cellar. The owners are so enjoyable.
  • I would recommend using the bus system rather than driving: it was much more convenient.
  • Have dinner at the Hotel Margherita -- the views are magnificent and the meal divine.
  • Make sure to visit Ravello: the most romantic town on the Amalfi coast.

July 2011 - Casa Giuliana B is a beautiful place to stay. The family who own it are very welcoming and very helpful.

We are a family of four and the apartment is so spacious and so comfortable that we had a wonderful holiday.

Praiano is quieter than the neighbouring resorts of Amalfi and Positano - that is what we loved about it. There is a good little supermarket just yards from this apartment, steps down to the beach (steep climb back but you get used to it!) and plenty of restaurants to choose from - but our favourite place to eat was on the balcony of Casa Giuliana B as the view from there is just so beautiful.

Summer in Italy have been brilliant to deal with - would recommend you to anyone. No hassle whatsoever and very helpful tips and advice.

Travel tips

  • We hired a car for our week in Praiano but weren't prepared for how narrow the roads were. Probably better to take the bus.
  • Bar del Sole is great place to spend an evening.
  • Pompeii was fantastic day out.

June 2011 - Absolutely beautiful apartment. The view was breathtaking!!! All amenities were fantastic. A large balcony that afforded a view of the sea and the town was superb.

I can not praise this apartment enough. Beautiful old-world charm with all modern amenities.

Great service. I will use you again, as I hope to make more trips to Italy. I will tell others about both your service and Giuliana B. I love your newsletter and am happy to continue receiving it. Thank you for all of your help.

Travel tips

  • There was a lot of walking to get to the town. More than the senior citizens in our group could handle. Just be aware of this.
  • There is a grocery and restaurants nearby.
  • Parking is at a premium. Don't let this stop you from renting this apartment. It is truly a jewel.

May 2011 - We enjoyed it very much. It feels very Italian rather than touristy.

Travel tips

  • It is very conveniently placed for the local and the Sita buses and for doing walks from the door. There are lots of steps so you do need to be fit.
  • The local shop is very close and pretty good.
  • The San Gennaro Pizzeria is excellent and the staff lovely.
  • The Walk of the Gods is a must.

September 2010 - This is a beautiful place to stay. The apartment is spacious and very well maintained.

The furnishings were fantastic - very authentic, Italian accommodation.

Booking process was simple and convenient.

Travel tips

  • The location is a fairly quiet village, which is not at all touristy. There are limited restaurants in the area, but that is what makes it a quiet town.
  • Local bus service is very good, but do remember that the roads in this area are extremely narrow and windy. Do not take your own car and remember that while distances may seem short, the nature of the roads will mean that even a short trip can take quite a long time. I do not get travel sick, but the twisty roads are a test for your stomach!

September 2010 - Both my husband and I truly loved our stay at Casa Guilana B, which was extremely clean and very pleasant.

Rosanna and her mother (who had cookies and a cold beverage when we arrived) were lovely and very helpful in showing us around the apartment and telling us about the local town.

We never got tired looking out at the view of the coast each day. Praiano was a perfect place to relax and central enough to take the bus to a neighbouring town when you wanted to explore.

If in Praiano again, we would stay there again!!

We were very impressed with the ease and professionalism that Luca and the staff at Summer in Italy provided us.

Travel tips

  • If you like to cook, everything is there at the apartment, plus, there is a little grocer (Tutto per Tutti) just five minutes away with everything you need to cook your lunch, supper etc., and sit out on the balcony and enjoy the view with a glass of wine!

August 2010 - We enjoyed the experience very much. The owners were always available for any assistance, and the neighbors and village residences were always polite and it was a joy to be part of their community for the week we were there.

Casa Giuliana was lovely and all than what we expected plus more .

The communications we had with you were great. We had difficulty with our credit card and you were understanding until it was corrected. The number of emails we received prior to our trip were not too many, the information you shared was very informative including were the major grocery store was on our way to Praiano. We have already given your address to friends.

Travel tips

  • Expect an adventurous trip to Praiano - the road are windy and at times narrow. The villa was immaculate and all that we needed. It was a benefit having a washer and air conditioning. But, having the verandas made our stay even enjoyable.
  • The neighborhood markets were nice, and gave me the opportunity to visit and talk with the residents. We were very fortunate to be in the village for the religious festival. A way of celebrating we are unaccustomed to in the United States.

July 2010 - It was a wonderful place for us to relax after exploring Italy.

Grandma Luisa is a hospitable lady and a wonderful pastry maker. Her granddaughter Maria is a very lovely and helpful girl, whom we could always ask for advice. Their hospitality was extraordinary and made us feel at home in Praiano. We were provided with all the things we needed and more.

We booked with you after some research on the Internet and we will will recommend your website to all our friends and relatives.

Travel tips

  • The heat of an Italian summer is intense, so staying on the coast provides relief from the boiling city temperatures.
  • People renting this villa should be prepared to run 400 steps up and down to reach the beach or use the local bus to do so. Most of the beaches in Praiano are rocky, so appropriate footwear is a must-have.
  • Visiting Gavitella Beach is highly recommended and a short bus ride to Positano will allow you to experience their beaches and nightlife.
  • Be prepared to pay for beach chairs and umbrellas and remember to check out local porcelain shops and restaurants.

July 2010 - We loved our time at Casa Giuliana B. The villa was beautiful, clean and very well presented. The owners were very helpful and even provided us with a special divider to curtain off one of the beds in the living room for our 19 year old daughter to feel more comfortable.

Thank you for a wonderful family experience.

Your service and communication was great. We would book again with your company. Thank you.

Travel tips

  • The walk down to the water is not for the weak of heart (349 steps plus some walking) but we enjoyed it.
  • We enjoyed visiting the local grocery store just down the hill! They have a well stocked wine cellar there also.

June 2010 - We enjoyed our time at your villa very much. We were initially concerned that we should have stayed in Amalfi or Positano but after staying at your villa, we decided that staying in Praiano was an advantage since we didn't have to deal with crowds each day. We also enjoyed the closeness to the local market and the fact that we had minimal steps to climb to reach our villa.

We enjoyed very much the people and their friendliness. We had such a great time and have so many good memories.

Thank you for allowing us to rent your home!

Travel tips

  • We enjoyed the local market just down the hill from us. The owners there were very helpful and friendly. We also enjoyed the ceramic store down the hill called LizArt. The people who owned that were also very friendly and their prices were very reasonable.
  • We sampled several very good restaurants and had many favorites. We liked the restaurant at the Hotel Tramonto d'Oro and the restaurant at the Hotel Margherita.
  • We thought the transportation by bus was very efficient and inexpensive and we used it several times.
  • We also spent time in Capri and Positano. We enjoyed a cooking lesson at Mamma Agata's in Ravello and we enjoyed lunch at the Tramonti Vineyards and Winery near Amalfi. We also spent a day at Pompeii and would recommend that trip to anyone interested in history. It was awesome!!

May 2010 - We were there for 5 days and had a great time... it's well kept, clean and run by helpful people.

Best times were dinner times, as we cooked every night and we all (group of 6) could sit together on the dining table and enjoy. Breakfast time was sitting in the balcony and looking at the sea.

Thought it is a little away from the main road and you have to climb a bit, but that also the charm of the place...

Unfortunately, Casa Giuliana B can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
