A magnificent view!

May 2018 - We are sure we got one of the best accommodations we could get. One day the weather was so clear that we could see the rock of Capri and on the other side the area of Paestum. A magnificent view!

We will definitely book our next trip to Italy with Summer In Italy. The conversation with Luca was always a pleasure!

Travel tips

  • 5 mins walk to the grocery.
  • The local bus from Positano via Praiano has a stop at the grocery, for us very comfortable.

Could not have asked for a better view!

May 2016 - We enjoyed Casa Giuliana A immensely. The place was very clean, well furnished and very comfortable. The view was out of this world, just sitting there having some wine, cheese and crackers was so relaxing. We felt so at home, hanging our clothes out on the line and speaking with the people who were walking by. Everyone was so friendly.

The owners were wonderful and helpful. Keep up the good work. Casa Giuliana A is amazing and you were wonderful to us.

I have recommended Summer In Italy to friends, giving them the web site. We were very happy with your selection.

Travel tips

  • Just enjoy to the fullest.
  • Very friendly town. Everyone is very helpful regarding the transportation.
  • Loved the grocery store, had everything we wanted and needed.
  • Grocery store at bottom of hill has tickets for transportation.
  • Restaurant next door also helps with renting boats, transfers, excursions.

Loved every minute at Casa Giuliana

September 2014 - We loved every minute at Casa Giuliana. The apartment has such old world charm and the view is heavenly. We were so glad we stayed in Praiano because it is not filled with tourists as Amalfi and Positano are.

The owners are wonderful people and the people in the neighborhood were so friendly to us.

It is convenient to the supermarket and the bus stop. Staying at Casa Giuliana added so much to our Amalfi Coast vacation.

The advice to stay in Praiano was perfect. The info I received before leaving was extremely helpful. Every time I called I was immediately taken care of.

Travel tips

  • Take the local bus to avoid a lot of steps.
  • Eat at the wonderful restaurants. The pizzeria at the top of the street has great food at reasonable prices with a gorgeous view.
  • Take a break at Bar Mare.
  • Take the shuttle boat to Gavitella beach.

What a splendid view

August 2014 - Casa Giuliana is a very good place offering a complete rest. From the windows, one can enjoy a splendid view.

Travel tips

  • Be prepared to use stairs to and from the beach (10 min going up and down). For us it was not a problem and we regarded it as an exercise that helped to stay fit in the Amalfi coast that offers an amazingly delicious food.

Highly recommend it to anyone

July 2014 - Enjoyed very much. Highly recommend it to anyone. Very private. Gracious hostess. Incredible view. Easy access to the town and the beach (if prepared for a long climb back).

Excellent service from start to finish. Thanks for helping our trip go so smoothly. Much appreciated.

Travel tips

  • The nearby store is great, all that you'll need for cooking and wine cellar downstairs.
  • If the weather is cool enough for climbing highly recommend trekking the nearby Path of the Gods trail. Outstanding.
  • For a more enjoyable swim at the small town beaches hike down early in the morning befrore the crowds build up.

May 2014 - We absolutely loved Casa Giuliana A! The view was just unreal - having breakfast and dinner here every morning and evening gives you every reason to not go out for meals.

We couldn't fault it in any way. The owner is lovely, leaving us with cake and beer on our arrival!

Travel tips

  • You must go for the day to Positano (it is a more expensive area but a nice day out - shops/beach/restaurants/etc).
  • Rent mopeds if you get the chance! Take them over to Positano, Amalfi - so beautiful around the cliffs.

June 2013 - This has to have been our best experience ever in Italy. We chose Praiano on the advise of one of your representatives, and all our requirements were met. Everything that I had asked for was here, from washing machine, hair dryer to the coffee pot. The house (apartment) was just perfect. Not too many stairs.

The hostess and her mother were truly delightful. They met us at the bus station, showed us up to our accommodation and greeted us with coffee and freshly baked cake. The home was super clean, very large, an exquisite view, and was more than fully equipped. We wanted for nothing expect our own toiletries and groceries. Our linen was changed weekly, and every few days they would enquire to see if there were any problems or if we needed anything. We were given information about local restaurants, tours, bus timetables and supermarket hours. We really appreciated it all. The only problem I had was that the power went off one morning, but that is fairly typical in Italy. I had too many appliances going at once. A quick phone call and Mama immediately turned it on for us.

I can't recommend these apartments highly enough or our hostess. By the end of our stay we felt like family. All our neighbors were very kind, enquiring how we were. The local supermarket was the same. We were always greeted like old friends, and very much locals.

VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Thank you Summer In Italy for a magnificent holiday experience. You will definitely be our first port of call when we come back again :)

Travel tips

  • The local supermarket is just 5 minutes away and has absolutely everything you could possibly want from deli items to toiletries and fresh fruit and vegetables.
  • An amazing pizza restaurant is a few minutes walk up the road. Highly recommended.
  • The local bus to Positano stops right near the supermarket and goes and returns several times a day. The Sita bus from Sorrento to Amalfi is a 10 minute walk away and also operates several times a day. All very easy to negotiate and visit everything from Amalfi to Naples and everything in between.
  • We managed a trip to Capri, the Isle of Ischia, a walk down from Ravello to Amalfi, several other walks, even Pompeii and Herculaneum. Just wonderful.

October 2012 - My daughters and I spent two weeks at Casa Giuliana A in October and were very satisfied with the property.

The owner, Marilisa, was very helpful when we arrived and had home baked goods, juice and water waiting for us.

The property is very spacious, easy to get to and has a terrace that overlooks the sea - an incredible view!

Praiano is in a perfect location along the Amalfi coast with easy access to all the other villages on the coast and to Naples.

Summer in Italy was very professional and responsive. I will definitely use this site again in the future!

Travel tips

  • If you are driving, be aware that you will not be able to park your auto right next to the property as parking for guests is up the street a bit. For those not used to walking much, this will be a very small inconvenience but definitely worth it as you will meet many of the residents of this friendly village along the way.
  • Take the time to get lost... you will find many things off the beaten tourism paths that you will enjoy.

October 2012 - Loved Casa Giuliana. It was more accessible than many of the other apartments - not too many stairs to climb at the end of a busy day.

Very clean, beautiful view, kitchen well appointed.

Owner and family most accommodating and helpful. Rosanna retrieved our luggage when airline delivered it 2 days late and provided us with the bus schedule which we used several times.

We would highly recommend you to friends and would book with you in the future. The properties were exactly as you represented. Hopefully people are aware that Praiano and the coast require a lot of walking and stair climbing. If people have accessibility issues, they should let you know so that you can provide them with properties that are suitable to their needs.

Travel tips

  • Don't be afraid to use the bus - it's very easy and Praiano is very central to other towns on the coast, but leave early, the bus does get busy later in the day.
  • Shops and restaurants in village have good prices for wine and food.
  • It is a bit of a hike to the beach (rocky not sandy) but well worth it. Incredible views and quaint restaurants and a good spot to book an excursion to Capri or Positano.

September 2012 - Casa Giuliana A was beautifully maintained and in a perfect location.

Praiano is the perfect place to stay on the Amalfi Coast. Great people, great food, minimal tourists!

There is a local grocer within a 3 minute walk, who was extremely helpful and helped us figure out the bus schedule each day.

Our hostess was very gracious and made arrangements for our travel back to Naples.

Summer In Italy were professional, organized and helpful. Thank you.

Travel tips

  • Go to Restaurant La Strada for dinner.... Great Pizza.
  • Go to One Fire Beach... great fun but you need to be in decent physical shape to hike out!
  • Select Praiano as your destination!

September 2012 - I truly loved Casa Giuliana A (and B, as well). I have stayed in this villa before and enjoyed it, which is why I returned. I'll be back again!

Travel tips

  • Simply enjoy your stay.
  • The nearby restaurants are excellent.
  • Transportation is very good, but be sure to get a schedule for the buses, particularly SITA. You must take care to buy your tickets in advance at local tobacco shops.
  • Visiting Positano and Sorrento is nice, via local bus or SITA bus, respectively.

July 2012 - The most beautiful apartment! Amazing views and location. Also very homely, we arrived to freshly baked local pastries and juice. The owners provided tons of helpful tips and so did Summer in Italy who were fantastic throughout the whole process.

Praiano is a lovely town away from all the tourists. We would go back in a heartbeat and recommend to anyone wanting to relax and enjoy the breathtaking coastline and delicious food the area has to offer!

Travel tips

  • Parking is difficult all along the coast so public transport is probably better than hiring a car.

Fantastic

May 2012 - We had a wonderful relaxing time in Casa Giuliana. The owner and her family were so lovely to us. Very welcoming and accommodating.

The view was so beautiful and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony each day taking it in.

The location was great to get to other areas from and we found parking easy enough on the street.

The home is lovely with a huge master bedroom. It is dated in decor but we expected this as it is in a residential area and fits in with the other homes in the area. It was very homely though.

The steps up to the house were not too bad to climb.

We would recommend this home to family and friends.

Travel tips

  • Local shop only minutes away and staff there were very welcoming and helpful.
  • We used a local pizzeria with gorgeous homemade pizzas for very cheap.
  • We hired a car and drove to Positano, Amalfi and Ravello from the house. All very accessible and near by. we ate out in all these places.
  • Positano and Amalfi are lovely to walk around and see lots of little shops.

October 2010 - This apartment was the best part of our honeymoon!

We loved the location and the town of Praiano. The apartment is right by the supermarket, which is a great convenience.

The view is incredible and looking out on the terrace all you see is the vast sea. You almost feel like you are on a cruise ship, until you look down and see you are built into the cliffs with the rest of the town.

The apartment was clean and we were greeted with water, coke and snacks.

Every transaction was easy. I highly recommend!!!

Thank you for making this so easy and wonderful!

Travel tips

  • You definitely will be walking a lot so wear comfortable shoes. The apartment is up a few hills, but so is everything!

October 2010 - We loved our time at Casa Giuliana A.

The owners were very helpful and friendly, even going so far as to cook us a traditional five-course Italian meal one night (for which we paid).

The apartment was exactly as represented on the website: light, spacious, clean and with a wonderful, unobstructed view of the sea. It was charming to feel part of an Italian village away from the throngs of tourists at Positano and Amalfi.

The convenience of the little 'Tutto per Tutti' supermarket and the courtesy of its owners added to our enjoyment.

Our only quibble (and this is unrelated to Casa Giuliana) was the unreliability of the local and Sita bus services which seemed to run on a timetable entirely unrelated to the printed ones!

We have thoroughly enjoyed the interaction we have had with Summer In Italy. I found the website quite by chance a few years ago and was pleased to be able to make a booking. All our queries and correspondence were answered promptly. I have no reservations about recommending them to anybody wanting to rent an apartment on the Amalfi Coast.

Travel tips

  • Get a water taxi to Positano, Amalfi, etc. if you want to arrive there in a relaxed frame of mind! Admittedly the taxis are much more expensive but their convenience and availability make spending the extra Euros well worthwhile.
  • The local 'Tutto per Tutti' supermarket provides an excellent source of food and wine and a friendly and courteous service.

September 2010 - We absolutely loved Casa Giuliana A and Praiano!

The villa was immaculate, very comfortable large bed and the terrace and view was spectacular!

The owner/manager's daughter was very helpful (spoke English) with questions that we had about the villa.

The location was perfect - very quiet and peaceful.

We had a great experience dealing with Summer in Italy and will definitely use them again for future rentals in Italy.

Travel tips

  • The 35 steps to the villa is from the pedestrian walkway, however, be prepared that it is a long walk uphill from the main town for restaurants, etc. The local bus, if you can time it right, will get you most of the way up the hill!
  • It was great having the grocery store nearby for everything you needed.
  • The only minor issue with the villa was that the water pressure in the shower was very low but that is to be expected at the height of the villa.

May 2010 - We loved Casa Giuliana A. It looked exactly like it looked in the pictures on line.

We had the best time there. We were out most of the day, and looked forward to coming "home" to our little apartment in Praiano.

We enjoyed eating breakfast on our balcony each morning. We found the apartment to be well equipped.

Your site was excellent and very efficient. We would recommend using Summer in Italy to other guests. We appreciated all of your replies to our e-mails in a timely fashion. We would use Summer in Italy again. Thank you.

Travel tips

  • We had a car which was a bit difficult to find parking for. We are glad that we had a car, but take into consideration that parking is not easy as there are not a lot of parking spots for non residents.
  • There is a little market at the bottom of the road which is very convenient.

April 2010 - My wife and I had a fantastic time in Praiano. The villa was extremely spacious, clean and well equipped which resulted in a relaxing time during our stay.

The location is easily reachable and you'll enjoy the phenomenal view from the walk out terrace.

I stumbled across your website on Google and have been impressed with the simplified, pain-free approach to booking. I am equally pleased with the professional and comprehensive email communication with Summerinitaly staff.

Travel tips

  • Restaurant La Brace is a great, cheap pizzeria at a 15 minute walking distance, best for pickup.
  • Be prepared to roll/lift your luggage up two flights of stairs as the villa is on the second floor.
  • Praiano's beach has some good restaurants for dinner.
  • Take the orange bus at EUR 1.50 each way to Positano. The bus stop is just 3 minutes down the street.
  • Take the SITA coach bus from the lower, street level bus stop near the Tabacchi shop next to the red building for day trips to Amalfi, Sorrento and Salerno. The fare tends to be more expensive (between EUR 4 and EUR 7.50) round trip.
  • Take adantage of the fully equipped kitchen by buying fresh organic produce from the small supermarket one level down from the villa.

October 2009 - We really enjoyed staying in Casa Giuliana. It is a spacious apartment with a fantastic sea view. It has everything you need for comfortable holidays.

Owners are very hospitable and ready to help.

I am pleased with the service from Summer in Italy. The people were helpful and I got quick answers on all my questions.

Travel tips

  • There is a good grocery shop "Tutti per tutti" just round the corner. If you like walking we would recommend to have a walk by the "path of the Gods" - fantastic views and a moderately challenging mountain walk.
  • In the apartment it self: do not turn too many electrical appliances at the same time - there might be a power cut.

May 2009 - We were very happy with our stay at Casa Giuliana.

We took the bus from Sorrento and the manager's grandson picked us up from the bus stop and drove us to the house. The very sweet manager greeted us with a pot of coffee and a delicious plate of homemade pastries.

The apartment and the view were beautiful and were exactly as pictured and described on the website. I like to cook and I was happy to find an extremely well equipped kitchen with good quality pots and pans, full-size appliances, dinnerware, a blender, even an electric juicer and panini maker!

The apartment was also well stocked with bath towels, toilet paper, paper towels, soap, dish liquid, etc, everything we could have needed. No problems or complaints whatsoever. Wish we could have stayed longer!

We were very happy with Summer In Italy. The website is very user friendly, there were tons of pictures of the property and it was exactly as shown on the website. I would definitely use Summer In Italy again for any future visits to Italy.

Travel tips

  • The nearby market Tutto per Tutti is very nice with great produce, cheeses, bread, etc.
  • We did some day trips to Amalfi, Positano, and Ravello, but we enjoyed hanging out in Praiano a lot more since the other towns are filled with hordes of tourists and the buses can get crowded.

Unfortunately, Casa Giuliana A can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
