Reviews of Casa Daniela
Self catering apartment in Ascea Marina, Cilento National Park, Italy
June 2011 - We enjoyed our stay in Casa Daniela immensely. The owner - Mr Silvestro - was extremely friendly and helpful.
The apartment was well equipped and spotlessly clean and located in a good position in Ascea Marina.
We would recommend Casa Daniela to anyone who wants a quiet holiday with excellent amenities and beach close by without the 'blingy' tourist feeling.
The scenery is amazing and plenty of archaeological sites only a few miles away.
We booked with you purely by chance - impressed by website pictures. We found you most courteous in the way you have sent information and if we decide to return to this part of Italy again we will have no hesitation in contacting you again.
- There are a couple of good restaurants within half a mile and nice local shops with good quality fresh food.
- We hired a car for our stay and as long as you are confident with the mountain roads the scenery is amazing - such pretty villages - especially Pisciotta - are all within a reasonable drive from Ascea Marina.
- The beach is beautiful - very long and sandy, with various bars and chair hire places.
- The ancient village of Velia is to be found on the outskirts of Ascea Marina and is well worth a visit. Also the ancient Greek city at Paestum is a must.
August 2009 - Casa Daniela is a quite pretty place. It conformed to our expectations.
The beach is only 15 minutes by walk, and the owner can give you a beach umbrella.
June 2007 - We stayed in Casa Daniela for three weeks and it was not enough. These were our best holidays so far.
First of all the people are really fantastic there. The owner, Mr Silvestro tried his best to make us feel at home. He was always nearby to help us. His sister Gina is a very friendly women too. They were not afraid of eight Russian children and treated them really well.
We had parties almost every evening. Mr Silvestro cooked pizza and pasta for us. Our neighbours, a wonderful Italian family, made delicious lasagne and deserts for us. We cooked some Russian food as well. Mr Silvestro taught us to dance.
The beach and sea was great. The children were swimming for hours.
We visited so many interesting things: Vesuvius, Pompeii, Paestum, Palinuro, Salerno and even Rome. Still, there are so many things we didn't have enough time to see. So, we have to come back again.
We really love Italy and Italians now. We left so many friends there. We miss them very much.
When we were in Rome we were amazed by its beauty and magnificence. However, for us the heart of Italy is a small village called Ascea.
We are very grateful to Summer in Italy that they made this trip possible. Everything was perfectly organized and the staff is very friendly too. We will be happy to recommend your company to our friends.
- There is a good supermarket nearby, just five minutes walk. The beach is close too, ten minutes walk.
- The apartment is very nice and clean.
- It is a very safe place to stay with children.
- There is a train station, 1 km away, which is very convenient to visit different places.
October 2006 - We really enjoyed the stay in Casa Daniela.
An important aspect is that the owner Silvestro is a very, very friendly and helpful host.
The interior of Casa Daniela offers a lot of space and all you need is there. Also the balcony is nice and sunny and we enjoyed the breakfast every day.
The only negative is the noise of the very busy coastal road in the morning and of the trains at night.
Maybe not annoying people living in cities. We live in very quiet area in the countryside, so we felt annoyed sometimes.
However our overall opinion is a very positive one based on the very good interior, the nice property and the very helpful owner
Make your plans for September if you like the fruits of the garden. Silvestro offers you Kaki fruit and fantastic grapes.
In September the village is almost empty, the weather is still great and the sea is very warm if you like to go swimming.
Infrastructure is good, restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance.
5 minutes walk to the beach, you don't need to cross a busy road.
The booking was very easy and reliable. As I am German and not able to talk in Italian I highly appreciated the English communication.
July 2006 - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Daniela largely due to the friendliness and determination of Silvestro and his family to give us a real Italian experience and a good time. The Italian dancing, making of limoncello and lemonade, the picking of fresh fruit and the sampling of Italian food were all enjoyed with much laughter by the adults and teenagers alike.
The accommodation is excellent and everybody else staying was incredibly friendly and anxious to practice their English. Paul(16) enjoyed trying to communicate with his GCSE French and German and the Italian that we picked up. Don't expect to meet many English families in Cilento National park, we met our first ones on the last night.
The local beach is excellent and there are plenty of other beaches and villages to visit locally. We particularly enjoyed a boat trip from Palinuro. There are archaeological sights on your doorstep but Pompeii is only two hours away and well worth the visit. Capri and the Amalfi Coast are also two hours away.
None of us were ready to come home at the end of the holiday, a sure sign that we had all had a wonderful time.
We were very impressed with Summer In Italy from the discovery of the web site right through the booking and payment systems to the end of the holiday. We have already recommended you to friends and will continue to do so. Thank you and well done!
July 2006 - We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Daniela with Silvestro [the owner], he was very helpful and kind. He was our contact when one of children fell sick and he was able to get a doctor out to us at the apartment.
We got on well with our neighbours and attended a pizza party organised by Silvestro.
The apartment was clean and quiet and close to the sea and was not far from many historical sites.
He supplied us with fresh fruit from his garden throughout our stay which was an added bonus.
He was friendly and courteous with my children and had a young heart as he would regularly interact with them through games or dance, which was very important as this helped the children relax.
He remained in the background and did not interfere with our sense of privacy.
He is a warm man with good interpersonal skills and he made us feel welcome.
We felt safe and secure during our time and found the Italian neighbours to be courteous and polite.
We were very happy and satisfied with the timely communication regarding queries and would like to see more properties.
November 2004 - We loved Casa Daniela. The location was good - probably need to let prospective clients know they would travel by train if they don't have a car.
It was lovely to stay in the one place for a few days, and it was easy to cater for ourselves as the facilities were good.
