The house is lovely. Everything is perfect in side and out.

June 2019 - This charming apartment over looking the shoreline of the Gulf of Naples was so beautiful. The view of Mount Vesuvius was incredible.

The house is lovely. Everything is perfect in side and out. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable. It was decorated quite nicely. And the deck was wonderful to sit and eat dinner or breakfast and watch the views.

We would definitely recommend this apartment to friends and families and we would come again.

Francesca [the caretaker] was a beautiful friendly young lady who assisted us from the time of arrival until we left. She was available 24/7 if needed. But we did not need her. Everything was perfect.

All communication with Luca (Summer In Italy) and Francesca was perfect. I would use Summer In Italy again and would recommend to others. Thank you for everything.

Travel tips

  • Pay the extra and ask for the express train. It is double the cost but it was well worth it.
  • The summer months bring out lots of teenagers that like to head to the beach in Meta and it is a full hot train.
  • Francesca [the caretaker] is a lovely lady and will assist you. Don't hesitate to ask her anything, she knows English very well and knows everything about this area.
  • The beach is not far and walking distance restaurants, shops, markets.
  • All the towns people are very friendly and helpful.
  • Easy access to Pompeii and Sorrento.

Enjoy the sunset every evening

May 2019 - The property has a wonderful view of the Bay of Naples, Mount Vesuvius and the beach below. It faces roughly west and so you can enjoy the sunset every evening.

The kitchen is small but pretty well equipped. The living / sleeping area is very generously proportioned and has huge windows which make it light and airy. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of wardrobe space.

I would thoroughly recommend Summer In Italy and if in the future I require accommodation in Italy they would be the first people to visit. The information provided about the accommodation was good and they were always quick in replying to any queries asked.

Travel tips

  • The train station at Vico Equense is very close to the property and the trains are frequent and inexpensive. Pay no attention to the train timetable as we never once had a train arrive anything like on time, although this doesn't really matter as they are so frequent.
  • The short train ride into Sorrento gives you access to many boat trip options around the Amalfi Coast and to Capri.
  • In the other direction Pompeii is easily accessible by train as the entrance is right opposite the station.
  • Although Vico Equense has a few hotels it is not frequented by many foreign tourists, and it's an interesting place to observe the locals enjoying relaxing in the cafes or going about their daily lives.
  • Motor scooters are everywhere and the constant buzz from them together with the Italian fondness for sounding the horn can make for quite noisy streets, but no more than any other Italian town.
  • There is one decent sized supermarket in the town plus a smaller one close to the accommodation where the proprietor is very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic views

May 2019 - Very nice apartment with fantastic views which was top of our wish list.

Setting is on a hillside with steep steps up and down so bear that in mind if mobility challenged or young kids. Fine for us.

Train station less than 5 mins walk for access to Sorrento and all the sites.

Excellent

May 2019 - We loved the privacy of this property and the view was outstanding. The house had everything you need.

It was only a few minutes walk to the train station and we appreciated parking for our rental on site.

All great.

Travel tips

  • Vico Equense is a great location as a base to explore Naples, Capri, Pompeii, Sorrento and Mount Vesuvius.
  • We had access to supermarkets and the train station was very close.

Fantastic

October 2018 - We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Andreina B. The location is perfect. Very quiet but at walking distance from the center and the train station.

The view is wonderful and the house is spacious and nice (except for the kitchen that is small, but that was not a problem). The bed is very comfortable. The only downside for us was the small amount of sunshine on the terrace in October (sun only in late afternoon). This is of course different in summer time when the sun rises higher.

Francesca [the caretaker] was great and welcoming. Everything was perfect.

Everything went very smooth with Summer In Italy.

Travel tips

  • The train station near is a big plus, there is so much to do and see in the area!

We had a wonderful time

September 2018 - We had a wonderful time and we’re so sorry we didn’t have more days to spend there.

Francesca [the caretaker] contacted us before our arrival by text which was really helpful, so we kept her informed about our travel updates.

Very happy with Summer In Italy.

Travel tips

  • There are approximately 95 stairway steps up from the beach road below. It was manageable and good exercise for us (over 70 one with knee replacements and smallish carry-on cases!).
  • The beach is lovely and was quiet in mid September. There are several cafes and bars to sit in if you don’t want to have a sun bed.
  • We liked Vico Equense, it’s a nice little town. It was a better choice for us than Sorrento, with far fewer tourists and mainly Italian visitors.
  • We discovered a good supermarket, and there are good places to eat, especially Restaurant Cerase which Francesca recommended.
  • We didn’t have a car, the Curreri bus stops by the Circumvesuviana train station, as well as the local SITA bus.
  • You’ll need to buy mosquito coils and Deet.

Already considering plans to return next year to this wonderfully located house

June 2018 - We visited Casa Andreina B in June 2018 and were delighted by the absolutely stunning sea views during the day (including Mount Vesuvius across the Bay of Naples), which were further enhanced by equally stunning sunsets each evening. The panoramic windows meant that we never closed the curtains, and this pays testament to the exclusivity and total privacy afforded by the location of Casa Andrea B, high on the cliffside above the sea. With two terraces, completely private for our use, we were truly spoilt for choice at meal times and we enjoyed the accommodation so much that we are already considering plans to return next year to this wonderfully located house.

Francesca was a most welcoming and helpful provider. Thank you, Francesca, for enabling us to have such a wonderful holiday!

My wife and I have travelled extensively in Europe, the Caribbean Islands, United States and Canada. In our experience, Summer In Italy has provided unrivalled service in terms of communications and customer care and I should like, especially, to say "thank you" to Luca for the careful, considerate and consistent professionalism you have demonstrated in attending to our needs. Truly, all of our expectations have been exceeded on every front. Thank you!

Travel tips

  • You need to be fit! There are approximately 100 steps up to the property - and another 135 if you ascend to the road via the steps leading from the top terrace. I'm smiling now, at the thought of our daily use of those steps, because every one of them is worth the effort.
  • Travelling anywhere by public transport was extremely easy, wonderfully economical and is highly recommended.
  • The train/bus station is just ten minutes' walk away (including the climb) and we made great use of the trains for trips to Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius, Herculaneum, Paestum, Castellammare di Stabia and Villa Poppea.
  • Cooking facilities at the property are somewhat limited, but adequate for heating pre-cooked food - check that the oven is in good working order!
  • In the town is a small outlet called Pastammore. The take-away food is excellent and can be consumed cold or re-heated later as an evening meal - but make your purchases in the morning because everything will be gone by the afternoon!

It was like a dream for the 4 days we were there!

June 2018 - Our first major stop on the Sorrento Coast and we we're so happy we chose this beautiful casa in the lovely town of Vico Equense. Its got all the amenities and the views are just breathtaking. It was like a dream for the 4 days we were there!

Francesca [the caretaker] was just great and she helped us with everything! Absolutely fabulous! Francesca, A BIG THANK YOU! :)

Thanks Luca and Team for being such a responsible company who know how to take care of their guests!

Travel tips

  • Take the stairs to the main road. The hike is little steep, but well worth it because in less than 2 minutes you hit the main road! The station is down the road from here and day trips galore, at your fingertips quite literally.

Perfect view

May 2018 - I can highly recommend Casa Andreina B and spot (preferably for single persons or couples, families should consider the bigger unit Casa Andreina A). Perfect view and very quiet. However, we have been there before the main season started. This might change the situation if one is looking for a quiet and calm spot. Well, as usual in this area.

Very friendly landlord.

Very good service and communication.

Travel tips

  • Be aware that there are stairs approximately 95 stairway steps to reach the property. If this isn't an issue for you - go for it.

Yes, we enjoyed it!

April 2018 - Yes, we enjoyed it!

Summer In Italy was really excellent. They answered all my questions very fast and in a very nice manner. I really appreciated this nice and friendly service.

Travel tips

  • All sights (Pompeii, Herculaneum, Napoli, Sorrento, Amalfi, Salerno, Paestum and especially Capri island) are really beautiful but also quite crowded.
  • Using the Circumvesuviana train can help, as you can avoid the problems with parking and huge traffic jam.
  • Visitors should be aware that the trip to Mount Vesuvius can be done only until 5 pm, then it is closed...

Enjoyed our stay!

March 2018 - We enjoyed our stay in Casa Andreina B! Close walking distance to the train station and nice walking distance to the grocery store. The view from the panoramic window is magnificent. Having only one bedroom it's perfect for two persons or a small family, it might be a little too crowded with four adult.

The little harbor and beach have everything we associate to local atmosphere in Southern Italy.

Francesca's welcome and help during our stay was fantastic. She was a big help.

Luca have been every informative, patient and helpful during our booking process.

Fantastic

October 2015 - Casa Andreina B is in a beautiful location. The views are stunning, a panoramic vista through huge windows, and the apartment it's self is well furnished and very comfortable. The kitchen is little, well little, but you don't go on holiday to do a lot of cooking. There are approximately 95 steps to reach the apartment, but in this part of Italy steps are the norm.

Renato the caretaker was so kind and helpful, nothing was to much trouble for him, he really helped to make the holiday very enjoyable.

Thanks for all the information you sent us. Would recommend Summer In Italy to others, well done.

Travel tips

  • Don't bother with a car, very expensive, and some drivers are a little hair raising.
  • We had a small car, but if you don't mind the walk up and down the hill your better off without one. The transport links are good, and Vico Equense is very central for both Capri, Herculaneum and other sights.

Fantastic

September 2015 - I enjoyed my stay at Casa Andreina B. It was a great location, very close to the beach and great views. Also close to town, train and bus station.

The property is well maintained and the caretaker is very helpful.

The booking process was very simple.

Travel tips

  • The restaurant in Vico Equense the caretaker recommended has really good pizza.
  • There are many one-day tours that you can get from the travel agency located at the train station in Sorrento.
  • There were tour leaflets at the property that came in handy.
  • The local train station is like 8 minutes walk from the property which is great. The beach is 5 minutes walk, the town center is 10 minutes walk which is great.
  • Sorrento is 10 minutes via train (ticket costs EUR 2), the train runs all day until 10pm and is safe. The same train to Naples is like 50 minutes. From Naples train station you can get a fast train to Rome which takes about an hour and is about EUR 43. Pompeii is 30 minutes via train from Sorrento.

Very good

September 2015 - Beautiful location.

Excellent and rapid service from Summer In Italy.

Travel tips

  • The road to the town has traffic that makes walking up and down, particularly with groceries, alarming. We recommend the path below and up the beach along the side of the castle up to the town as traffic free.

Very good

November 2014 - An excellent holiday with plenty to do!

We wanted a quiet picturesque location and got it.

We were met by the caretaker who was extremely helpful and welcoming.

Vico Equense was an ideal centre with plenty of restaurants but not too busy. We enjoyed the children trick or treating at Halloween!

Thought Summer In Italy was excellent and will use them again if we book a holiday elsewhere in Italy. Good information on the website and good service.

Travel tips

  • Transport by train was easy to Naples, Sorrento and local attractions - Mount Vesuvius, Herculaneum and Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri.
  • Be aware there are a lot of steps to access the accommodation but we are now a lot fitter and it was worth it for the view of Vesuvius across the bay.

Fantastic

July 2014 - Enjoyed Casa Andreina B very much. The house was with style and better equipped than any other house we have stayed in.

Italy is our no one summer (and winter, fall and spring) destination. Little town, seaside, terrace with view, good restaurants and a stylishly decorated house. We may come again.

Travel tips

  • Vico Equense is a pleasant town with good facilities and not grounded on tourists like Sorrento and Positano.
  • Nice shop very close as well as good restaurants.
  • Outstanding seafood.
  • Walking up the stairs and walking uphill to the shops and restaurants is a good exercise.

Fantastic

September 2013 - We only used the main apartment without annex. The location is excellent: underneath pine trees, quiet yet very central location, and close to the ocean. Due to the hillside location the apartment would not be suitable for people who have trouble climbing stairs.

The apartment is nicely furnished with plenty of storage space and everything you need.

The owner and manager were very helpful and very concerned about our welfare. We can recommend the apartment highly. At the time we were there, however, the apartment had no internet.

We were very happy with the service. Good documentation on the house and the description of Italian customs was very funny!
