August 2008 - Pool area is great - good size pool with and a relaxed atmosphere.

Plenty of room for children to run about. Having our own outdoor area meant space to play whilst I knew where she was.

Living accommodation was lovely, bedrooms comfortable. A nice place to escape from the heat of the summer sun!

Travel tips

  • The ruin on the hill that can be seen on the skyline from the apartment is well worth a visit - if only for a sensational view back over the castle and surrounding estates.
  • The Coop in Bucine has pretty much everything you could need for eating in - and plug-in insect deterrents which are essential if you are susceptible to being bitten.
  • The train to Florence is a must - handy from Bucine, and takes just over an hour, and all for less than it would cost for parking.
