In the hills of Barano on the Ischia, this thermal spa sets itself apart from the others. It is in a tranquil, natural setting surrounded by native landscaping. It doesn't have an array of pools; rather, to avoid the use of any chlorine or chemical additives required, they have the natural pure water, still rich in its minerals, as hydrotherapy showers, right where the age-old spring comes out of the rock. This renowned spring has been used since Romans times, when it was dedicated to the god Apollo. A mural at the original site depicts Apollo and the Nitrodes nymphs.

The Fonte delle Ninfe Nitrodi spa is a holistic wellness center for cures and contemplation, with an aromatherapy trails full of lush, healing plants. A walk along the path after showering in the curative water brings different healing and stress-reducing properties. Different types of drinks are extracted and blended from the organic plants, too, such as aloe vera, mint, lemon and more.
