In the historic heart of Spoleto just steps from the Piazza della Liberta', Ristorante Pentagramma is a haven of Umbrian fare. Traditional recipes are given a splash of inspiration and are presented beautifully, carrying the musical theme through to the decorations on the plates.

It is housed in an antique building on a characteristic street and has exposed stone walls and antique paving, giving a warm and welcoming feel. The service is attentive and helpful, and the food is delicious. The menu changes with the seasons, but a few delights include the stuffed squash blossoms, homemade potato gnocchi, hand-formed strangozzi (local pasta shape) with wild asparagus or truffle sauce, and lamb roasted with artichokes. An extensive wine list compliments the meal and the fabulous desserts shouldn't be missed. There is a good quality-to-cost ratio here.

A few tables on the street allow for outdoor dining (reserve in advance as they fill up fast) and dinner comes complete with candlelight and soft music.
