Ristorante da Bruno Maratea

Above Maratea and below the towering statue of Cristo Redentore, the unassuming pizzeria/trattoria da Bruno is a locals' favorite. It is just off the hairpin curves and cantilevers of the road to the Basilica of San Biagio and the statue beyond (known as Strada per Monte San Biagio). It is in the contrada Santa Caterina frazione (tip: look for the signs to Grand Hotel Pianeta Maratea, you pass Da Bruno to get to the hotel.)

The simple place has a basic menu - wood oven pizzas, seafood, and snacks with drinks (particularly nice at sunset with Monte San Biagio, the statue and the sea in view). Homey, no frills, and good price-quality ratio. They put tables outside in nice weather for the view.
