Restaurant Il Frantoio di Villa dei Boschi

In the Crete Senese near Asciano and Rapolano Terme is the countryside restaurant of Il Frantoio. Set in an old olive mill, it serves local products in a homey setting at good prices. It is billed as a ristorante and braceria, which means they serve excellent pasta dishes but the focus for the main courses is grilled meats. Local steaks and chops are done on wood fires to perfection. Try the gnocchi or ravioli stuffed with pumpkin; if you're not in the mood for grilled meats, they offer spezzatino as a hearty and tasty dish (meat stew).
