Diving into a chocolate factory might be every kids' fantasy, and in Perugia it becomes a reality! The chocolate company that is synonymous with Perugia is home to the Casa del Cioccolato, a museum that also includes a factory tour of the Perugina Chocolate facility.

The visit starts at the museum, where multimedia displays take you through the history of the company and of chocolate confections in Perugia, along with the art of creating the delicacies, the materials, methods and final product, complete with samples, of course. Then you follow on a tour of the factory to see how modern production churns out the chocolates. A gift shop offers goodies and gadgets, including exclusive offerings that are found only here at the Perugina headquarters. There is also a Scuola di Cioccolato (chocolate school) for those who want to learn how to make some of these delicious candies at home.

You can reserve your visit online, especially recommended if you have a group.

Visit the Casa del Cioccolato website for information, or to reserve a chocolate class.

The Perugina Chocolate Museum is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM til 1:00 PM and from 2:00 PM til 5:30 PM. On Saturdays it is open from 10:00 AM til 4:00 PM (closed Saturdays during the months of January, February, June and September.)
