Nera Restaurant and Drinks

Named for the black sand beach below it, this restaurant and bar may give off a "beach shack" vibe but are, in fact, quite upscale in the menus. Plenty of patio space means you get sea views and breezes, whether you're coming for a full meal or a drink and snacks. Classy, crafted cocktails, a good wine list, and a menu that takes inspiration from the regional traditions but ups the level with new twists. Food is prettily plated, there are cozy areas for the bar service, and panoramic vistas galore. You'll pay a bit more than the norm for Maratea, but it's a different kind of menu and experience, so a splurge may be in order.
