If you want to have a classic Riviera experience like you've seen in the movies, then head over to the beach called Bagno Santa Maria, one of Forte dei Marmi's oldest and revered seaside resorts. It hasn't changed with the trends, but retains its classic environment and service, so you can just imagine the stars of the '50s swishing through the doors and lounging on the beach chairs. The buildings are kept low to not obstruct the view of the Apuan Alps behind. It is near the Versiliana Park and the cooling green pinewoods.

Everything is built in wood and set in a tamarisk stand, amid Forte dei Marmi's upper-class villas. You can choose an umbrella or canopy with chairs, sunbeds, a side table and lockable trunk for your phones and valuables. There are showers and wood changing cabins, private parking, and free WiFi (the only "modern" addition they've conceded to!) The restaurant, bar and snack shack ensure you won't be hungry during your day of sun and surf.
