Very good

September 2012 - We enjoyed our stay at Casa Teresa. Its setting is lovely and peaceful, the apartment had every thing we needed, and the bed was very comfortable (we did wonder as sofa beds can be a bit thin).

Our hosts where very helpful giving us plenty of advice on shops transport etc.

Summer in Italy has always been 100% helpful.

Travel tips

  • We found Casa Teresa a very pleasant place to stay.
  • Massa Lubrense has good shops, banks and bus links to Sorrento were you can pick up trains to Pompeii, etc., ferries to Capri and around the local area.
  • We particularly enjoyed the walk to Sorrento along the little roads.

October 2010 - Maria [the owner] and her family went out of their way to help. they so friendly and accommodating. Any time we needed any assistance with travel arrangements, questions about the area, who to talk to and what to do, they were there.

They went above and beyond.

I found the web site on line by chance. The pictures were good and the response time was excellent.

Travel tips

  • The hills to and from the local town is challenging but worth the walk. It takes approximately 15 minutes.

November 2008 - We enjoyed our stay because the host and hostess made us feel so welcome. They were full of accurate, friendly, and useful advice about what to see and how to see it.

Note that the accommodation is primarily a bedsit containing a bed-settee, a dining table for two, and a small kitchenette. By storing your luggage in the bathroom, you will have adequate room to move.

I spent a long time looking for accommodation in the Amalfi/Massa Lubrense region. When I found the Summer in Italy website, it was easy to use and I got very quick, polite, and comprehensible responses. I would use the service again.

Travel tips

  • The public transport system is very good, and affordable. Make best use of the buses and trains rather than use your car along the extremely narrow (and I mean extremely narrow) lanes.

August 2007 - A fantastic stay with lovely owners, great location and so relaxing.

Don't be put off by the one room apartment, it doesn't feel small at all.

March 2007 - An absolutely wonderful place, a beautiful view with Capri only a few miles off shore. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Immaculately clean, and well equipped. Add in the fact that the owners are the nicest, most helpful people you could want to meet, and you have the makings for a enjoyable stay.

The downhill walk to Massa Lubrense, along a paved street lined with lemon orchards, took 15 - 20 minutes and was easy to do. There, we could get a bus that took as everywhere we wanted to go. By planning the trip back, and having the bus drop us at another stop, we had an easy walk downhill to the villa.

A highly recommended place, if you want to get away from the crowds and have wonderful people to deal with.

Travel tips

  • The buses in the area are excellent, and will take you everywhere, from Sorrento to Salerno. So leave the driving to them and enjoy the sites, even more so on the Amalfi Coast, which is narrow and crowded with traffic from Positano and beyond.
  • Driving to Positano is easy, with many pull-offs, but after that, there are few if any. Parking is expensive, and can be hard to find. Use the public transportation system and your life will be much easier.

April 2006 - We really enjoyed our stay -- very peaceful and lots of places to walk.

We walked everywhere and only used the hire car to go to and from the airport. Next time we wouldn't hire a car. The access road to the house is so narrow that driving is rather hair-raising and a lot of backing up is required. The owner and her two sons (both with very good English) are extremely helpful and are willing to drive guests to the station etc. Public transport was very good and we used bus and train to go to places like Pompeii and Positano.

An excellent holiday for a relatively fit couple who like walking and peace and quiet.

The property was excellent. Not luxurious, but very clean and functional. The only slight drawback was the ancient olive tree in the gateway which made access by car difficult, but that doesn't really matter. Don't remove it!

You did an excellent job and as a result we had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and we would certainly book with you again either to Casa Teresa or another property. Thank you.

May 2005 - We enjoyed the rustic area and the peaceful area as well as the view.

The hike back from town was a bit rugged but after the first couple of times it seemed much easier.

The aroma from the lemon trees in bloom was a fabulous treat all the way to and from town and at the house.

May 2005 - Casa Teresa was a lovely authentic hideaway in the hills on the Sorrento peninsular.Sue Fisher-Pascall, Ashford, United KingdomSituated in a lemon orchard with lovely views it was a spotlessly clean and neat studio style apartment.

The family owners were very obliging and collected us from Sorrento and droped us off after our stay. They also provded us with helpful information about the area.

It is a 10-15 min walk to to the bus stop to get into Sorrento but we thought it was worth it to return to the little oasis in the hills each evening after sightseeing.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Casa Teresa

Thank you for responding so quickly to my call and assisting organise accomodation in only one day. I found your service very efficient.

May 2005 - The location and property were fantastic and the owners were so friendly and helpful. It was a beautiful place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone.

The only piece of advice that I would give is that the access road is extremely narrow and so if you have a large car then getting to the property could be difficult, other than that I could not fault it.

I found you by searching the Internet and I am always cautious about this, however you responded promptly, were very helpful and delivered everything that you said you would. I would use you again and would recommend your company to others.

August 2004 - We had a wonderful holiday at Casa Teresa, it was perfect for us as we enjoy exploring the countryside and there were many local walks.

Luca and the family [the owners] were extremeley helpful and friendly but never intrusive. If we required assistance with routes, eating places, shops etc, help was always available and offered without any trouble. We felt we were part of the family by the end of our stay.

A very peaceful area to stay, with wonderful views acros to Capri, but within easy reach of Massa and Sorrento.

We would dearly love to come back soon.

No advice - booking was straightforward and I was always kept informed of the progress of our booking. We will certainly use your company again.

September 2003 - Casa Teresa is set in very pretty countryside and is quiet and peaceful. The main message I would pass to future guests is that it is quite remote and that leaving the apartment on foot entails climbing a steepish hill of one kilometre in order to reach the bus stop, or descending a steep hill of two kilometres to reach Massa.

As car hire is difficult due to the narrow roads, walking is almost essential and people need to be fairly fit to do this regularly. As there are no restaurants close by, reaching either Massa or Sorrento is necessary in order to eat out. Once on the main roads however we found that public transport was reliable and inexpensive.

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Teresa and were received and looked after very well during our time there. Please pass on our thanks to the owners of Casa Teresa for an enjoyable stay.

September 2003 - We absolutely loved the area and the location of Casa Teresa was superb. The house is in the middle of a lemon grove with a beautiful view of the Bay of Naples and Capri.

Although it was a little difficult to reach without transport, a small car or scooters (which we hired) would make it really easy to get around. We loved Massa Lubrense, which feels quite removed from the more touristy town of Sorrento, and the surrounding countryside and villages were lovely.

The apartment is compact but well equipped and the family were very friendly. They picked us up from the station and also gave us a lift back with all our bags at the end of the week! We were also given some lovely gifts on arrival which was really thoughtful.

I would definitely recommend Casa Teresa or Villino della Nonna to anyone wanting to have a relaxing, quiet and more authentic experience of the region. Many thank to Maria [the owner] and Summer in Italy.

September 2003 - Our stay at Casa Teresa was great. There is a great view over the sea towards Capri from the terrace outside the apartment. Claire and I spent a few nights sitting there drinking the local wine (which was very cheap and very good) and eating plenty of pasta.

The local village was a 10/15 minute walk down down the steep hill into town, not much use for people who aren't too fit. There are however buses into Sorrento and other destinations which leave 5 minutes away from the apartment.

The owner's son spoke English and was happy to help with local information, such and bus time tables and local places worth visiting. The owener's son even came to collect us from the train station and left us there when it was time to go. The whole family were very helpful.

It would be an advantage to have your own car as the apartment is a bit off the beaten track.

The apartment was quite basic, however it had everything we needed and it was very clean.

June 2003 - Yes, we are back from Italy - had a great time.

Casa Teresa proved to be just ideal for us. We met up with the ' boys' [the owner's sons] promptly, were greeted with great charm and warmth, drove there through the charming lanes and received lots of information of the area.

The accommodation was just delightful, tranquil and secure - such a lovely setting. Maria, Giovanni and Antonio [the owner and her sons] were very attentive and facilities in the apartment were very good. We enjoyed the area very much but a week is just not enough to be able to really appreciate it all.

We look back on our stay there with much joy and happiness and one day would like to go back to stay at Casa Teresa - a little piece of paradise.

May 2003 - We had a fantastic time at Casa Teresa, the place was far better than I had expected. The owner and her sons Giovanni and Antonio were great hosts. Giovanni gave us lots of tips on what to do in the area and the arrival gift of a bottle of limoncello and a jar of lemon jam were a great touch.

The location was just about perfect with easy access to buses and an easy walk into Massa Lubrense. We will definitely recommend Casa Teresa to our friends and also Summer In Italy for all the help you gave us.

Unfortunately, Casa Teresa can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
