Journey through the process of silkmaking, from the silk worms, to the spinning, dying and looming work, right to the finished product. In Como, once known as "the city of silk", this interesting museum is located in the palazzo where the prestigious School of Textiles is housed. You'll see marchines and tools of the trade, including a pleating machine; the colors kitchen, where the dyes are mixed; the printing table where designed are stamped onto the fabric; and antique hand-painted designs.

There are exhibits of photos, lithographs and films, along with drawings and designs, and finished textile articles. A nice stop when you're in Como! Visit their website for current hours and admission prices.
