Holiday Home Description

Casa Mafalda is a charming apartment for three people, with an area of 60 square meters (approximately 645 square feet). It has a terrace facing the sea and the sun, and a wide and splendid view of the sea and of the Amalfi Coast. The house is equipped with air conditioning and a safe box.

It has one bedroom with a double bed, a living room with a divan bed that sleeps one guest, a roomy kitchen and a bathroom with shower.

It is part of the ancient village of Praiano, and it is located in the center, at approximately 10 meters (yards) from the main road.

The house is on the second floor, and you will be able to reach it climbing 36 steps. There is no elevator.

You will enter the house from the terrace, which leads into the living room. Once on the terrace, you will have before your eyes an amazing panorama. In front of you there will be a wide dazzling blue horizon of sky and sea. Above the sea, on your right, you will see the charming stretch of coast that goes from Praiano to Positano and to the extreme point of the Sorrentine peninsula. Capri and its famous Faraglioni rocks are clearly seen at the horizon. At a closer distance you will be able to admire the small islands called "Li Galli".

The terrace is a lovely place to relax outdoor. It is shared with the owners and there will be an area reserved for you. In the area that is closer to the building you will find the shade of a bougainvillea pergola and, right in front of the sea, a table with chairs.

Upon entering the house you will find a large room divided by a short wall into living room and kitchen. In the living area there is a divan bed that can sleep one guest and a satellite television. In the kitchen area you will find a nice brickwork kitchenette decorated by hand-made majolica tiles. The kitchen is equipped with four-burner cooker, oven, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher. There you will also find a table with chairs. In the bathroom there is a washing machine.

A short corridor leads to the bedroom with a double bed and to the bathroom, which has a shower.

You will find that Casa Mafalda has been furnished carefully and in a pleasant way. The floor are tiled with lucid sea-green majolica tiles and the rooms have high vaulted ceilings. The furnishings are in the typical Mediterranean style.

From Casa Mafalda you will reach the sea by bus or on foot, with a long stroll to the beach called "Praia", which is at approximately 1 km (about half a mile). Or you can travel along a long stairway (approximately 400 steps) that will take you to a charming small beach, located in a small inlet among the rocks. Facilities and restaurants operate on the beaches in the summer time. On many beaches you will find small boat that offer a shuttle service to and from the many, charming, small beaches that nestles at the feet of the high cliff. Don't miss this opportunity.

From Praiano you will also be able to reach easily reach the beaches of Positano and Amalfi by bus.

The closest shops and restaurants are at approximately 20 meters (yards) from Casa Mafalda.

You will be able to reach Casa Mafalda by bus. The stop, both for the local bus and for the out-of-town bus, is just a few steps from the house. You will not need a car. If you have one, you will be able to park it along the roads of the village, depending on availability, either free of charge or in parking meter spots.

From Praiano you can easily reach the tourist centers on the Amalfi Coast and of the Sorrento Coast using the Sita buses.

Praiano and Positano are well connected by a local minibus which provides frequent journeys. You will be able to plunge, whenever you want, into the intense tourist life of Positano, with its meetings, its shopping streets and its restaurants.

From the quay of Positano or from the docks of Amalfi you will be able to board ferries and mini-cruises to visit the islands of Capri and Ischia, Amalfi, Sorrento and Naples. The buses link together the villages along the coast, and it is easy to reach Pompeii, Herculaneum and the Royal Palace of Caserta.

If you like hiking, from Casa Mafalda you will be able to easily reach the famous trail along the ridge of the mountains that overlook the Amalfi Coast. For its extraordinary beauty, made of precipices and breathtaking views, the trail is called "Sentiero degli Dei": Path of the Gods.

A 25% deposit is paid at the time of booking. The balance is due 60 days prior to arrival at the property.

Upon arrival at Casa Mafalda the property manager will ask you to pay a security deposit of EUR 100, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you prior to your departure less any charges for accidental damages to the property.
