Holiday Home Description

Casa Matilde is a charming apartment for five people, with an area of 100 square meters (approximately 1075 square feet). It has air conditioning and terraces facing the sea and the sun, and a wide and splendid view of the sea and of the Amalfi Coast, from Praiano to Positano and Capri.

There is a bedroom with a double bed, a bedroom with two twin beds, a living room with a divan bed for one guest, a roomy kitchen and two bathrooms, one with a bath tub and the other with a shower. Both bedrooms and the living room have a terrace with a view of the sea.

It is part of the ancient village of Praiano, and it is located in the center, at approximately 50 meters (yards) from the main road.

To reach the house you will have to walk along a short uphill pathway which includes 66 steps.

You will enter into a corridor that gives access to the rooms. All of the rooms face the sea and the sun. The view from the living room is especially charming. A large window opens into a wall. Through this window you will see only the dazzling blue of the sea and of the sky, and the charming tract of coast between Positano and Capri. The famous Faraglioni of Capri can be seen at the horizon, and, closer, you can admire the small islands of Li Galli.

The living room also has a terrace, shaded by an arch. From this terrace you will be able to enjoy a luminous panorama of the village of Praiano and of the sea, as well. On the terrace you will find a table and wickerwork armchairs. The living room is equipped with a divan bed that can sleep one guest, a table, chairs, a satellite television and a fireplace.

Each one of the two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two twin beds, has a small private terrace, as well. These terraces are also shaded by an arched roof, and enjoy a 180-degree view of the sea and of the coast.

The kitchen is spacious, and there you will find a table with chairs. It is equipped with a four-burner cooker, oven, refrigerator with freezer, washing machine.

There are two bathrooms: one of them has a bath tub, the other one has a shower.

The furnishings of Casa Matilde are pleasant and comfortable. The floors are tiled with lucid blue majolica tiles.

From Casa Matilde you will reach the sea by bus or on foot, with a long stroll to the beach called "Praia", which is at approximately 1 km (about half a mile). Or you can travel along a long stairway (approximately 400 steps) that will take you to a charming small beach, located in a small inlet among the rocks. Facilities and restaurants operate on the beaches in the summer time. On many beaches you will find small boat that offer a shuttle service to and from the many, charming, small beaches that nestles at the feet of the high cliff. Don't miss this opportunity.

From Praiano you will also be able to reach easily reach the beaches of Positano and Amalfi by bus.

The closest shops and restaurants are at approximately 50 meters (yards) from Casa Matilde.

You will be able to reach Casa Matilde by bus. The stop, both for the local bus and for the out-of-town bus, is just a few steps from the stairway that leads to the house. You will not need a car and we do not recommend having one.

From Praiano you can easily reach the tourist centers on the Amalfi Coast and of the Sorrento Coast using the Sita buses.

Praiano and Positano are well connected by a local minibus which provides frequent journeys. You will be able to plunge, whenever you want, into the intense tourist life of Positano, with its meetings, its shopping streets and its restaurants.

From the quay of Positano or from the docks of Amalfi you will be able to board ferries and mini-cruises to visit the islands of Capri and Ischia, Amalfi, Sorrento and Naples. The buses link together the villages along the coast, and it is easy to reach Pompeii, Herculaneum and the Royal Palace of Caserta.

If you like hiking, from Casa Matilde you will be able to easily reach the famous trail along the ridge of the mountains that overlook the Amalfi Coast. For its extraordinary beauty, made of precipices and breathtaking views, the trail is called "Sentiero degli Dei": Path of the Gods.

Staying at Casa Matilde you will enjoy a vacation in a natural environment of amazing beauty, and you will also have a base to visit Pompeii, Paestum, Naples and the Royal Palace of Caserta.

You will be able to visit the famous beaches of the Amalfi Coast and the characteristic fashion and artisans' shops, as well as attend the many cultural and artistic happenings that take place throughout the year.

A 25% deposit is paid at the time of booking. The balance is due 60 days prior to arrival at the property.

Upon arrival at Casa Matilde the property manager will ask you to pay a security deposit of EUR 200, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you prior to your departure less any charges for accidental damages to the property.
