October 2006 - This villa is beautifully situated, with a stunning view, and near Vettica Maggiore (rather than Praiano proper) - which must be one of the nicest towns on the coast, with none of the crowds of Amalfi or Positano, but near to both.

The local beach La Gavitella is really nice - we loved it.

If there is a way of strolling down to the town that doesn't involve 100s of steps, we didn't find it. There aren't any restaurants or bars within short walking distance, which is a real shame.

September 2006 - Had a wonderful time here. The owner is a lovely gentleman and made us feel very welcome. The accommodation is perfectly adequate with a comfortable bed and fully equipped kitchen.

Unfortunately the hot water did not work properly and the shower-head would not stay in position (meaning one needed to hold the shower-head while showering, and also turn water on and off to maintain a supply of warm water).

These little things couldn't take away from an amazing view and the feeling that one was really living in Italy among Italians. There were no hotels or other accommodations nearby. We had a really enjoyable time here and would definitely recommend it.

October 2005 - We thought the villa was lovely and the views were brilliant.

Keep in mind that there are one hundred and twenty five steps just to get to the car! Ok for us as we are fit and healthy.

July 2005 - Villino dei Limoni is situated in an ideal spot to explore the Amalfi coast. It's very peaceful, away from the tourist centres but central to some of the main sights and beaches.

The apartment was spotless and the owner very helpful and friendly. We had a lovely week and strongly recommend it.

The service was very swift and friendly. No problems at all.

April 2005 - We enjoyed our stay here immensely, it was particulary great to get back to the villa after a day in frenetic Positano/Amalfi, etc and sit back on the terrace and relax. I also cannot speak highly enough of the staff at "Summer in Italy" they were extremely pleasant and helpful throughout.

The local shopkeepers down next to the Piazza were very helpful. We arrived late on the Saturday afternoon and went into the butcher's to get some supplies, when she couldn't give us everything we needed she went to the Alimentari next door and asked her to open up for us - everyone was so friendly.

Directions to get there were very clear, but the house is not numbered so that is a bit of a "pick a box". Also whilst the owner showed us which was his house, we did not realize he actually lives in Naples and only comes to Praiano on Saturdays. We needed to leave early and were unable to contact him. Fortunately he had shown us where the electricity meter was so we could estimate costs and leave the money.

We did not have a car but had no problems getting around, we tended to walk down the hill and catch the bus back up (yeah, lazy I know, but we were on holiday!). You can now buy tickets for the local bus on the bus itself, and it is useful to know that you can catch the bus instead of lugging your backpacks/cases up the hill.

I would certainly recommend your services and contact you again for any future needs.

October 2004 - We really loved our week at Villino dei Limoni. The terrace with its view was captivating and we enjoyed being away from busy Amalfi and Positano. The house suited us well but steps are a challenge!

We have been extremely happy with all arrangements, advice and directions to find house. Thank you we will certainly use you again on next trip. Can't remember how I found your website now but have passed it on to friends as so happy with your service.

September 2004 - I stayed at the villa for two weeks with my girlfriend. We both had a great time. The villa itself is superb with an amazing 270 degree view of the sea from the balcony and all the things you really need for your holiday (unless you like watching tv!). The only downside was the very hard bed and the lack of any kind of music/stereo.

The villa is located about 1 km from the centre of Praiano town and is quite a steep climb, although there is a local grocers by the San Luca square and a small bar on the square itself, near the villa.

Praiano town has a handful of restaurants, a small green grocers and a couple of bars. The best restaurant is located to one side of the town(Positano end) and split on two levels, with a great roof-top terrace. There is also a pizzeria by the church which is not too bad.

Getting around is difficult without a car. The buses are infrequent and stop at around 8 or 10 pm. If you do hire a car, try and pick it up in Sorrento or one of the Amalfi coast resorts (we hired from Naples, which is a headache to navigate). You should be able to drive to Positano or Amalfi in about 20 to 30 minutes (Ravello in 1 hour, Pompei in 2). Parking costs vary from 2 to 3 euros per hour.

May 2004 - We truly enjoyed our stay at the Villino dei Limoni. We particularly liked the terrace and the wonderful views of the Mediterranean and the rest of the Amalfi coast.

The town of Praiano was exactly what we were hoping for - it was quiet yet it had many restaurants and shops. We're glad we stayed there as opposed to the more popular towns of Sorrento, Positano, and Amalfi.

We would suggest that you recommend people have a car if staying in the Villino. We were grateful that we had one. The walk back from the part of town with the restaurants was a bit long, especially up hill.

In general, we were very happy with our experience in renting from Summer in Italy. We would definitely use your services again, and we have also recommended you to friends and family.

May 2004 - We enjoyed Villino dei Limoni overall, a kind owner, clean apartment, and the beautiful view from the terrace.

The local people in Praiano was friendly too. We really appreciated the hospitality of the thoughtful owner.

May 2004 - Villino dei Limoni is set above the ocean, with a good view. You live amongst locals and the alleyways stairs and passages give views over the gardens, vegetable patches, cliffs and coast-which are very picturesque. It is handily situated above the main village but shops, cafes and restaurants are within walking distance - for the active.

The mountain/open country above is easily accessible and offers easy walks with abundant wildflowers (in April) and some spectacular scenery. Amalfi, Positano, Ravello and the Sorrento peninsula are easily reached by bus or car.

Good to be away from the more well known tourist areas, but within easy reach. The General [the owner] was most welcoming, patient and helpful.

July 2003 - I am happy to tell that we really enjoyed our stay at Villino dei Limoni.

The atmosphere was relaxed, and the apartment was very nice and well equipped, considering the reasonable price. The wonderful view to the sea and our own terrace was more than we expected.

I will recommend the Villino to everybody who's planning to travel Italy.

June 2003 - We very much enjoyed out holiday in Praiano. The Villino dei Limoni is lovely and cool and we appreciated the home made lemonade from the General [the owner] when we arrived!!

We did hire a car and I think it would have been very hard work to climb the steps every time we wanted to go to a restaurant or to the beach, which is quite a distance. The restaurants in Praiano were excellent, our favourite place was the tiny Petit Restaurant a Mare down by the sea at lovely Marina di Praia .

We found everyone to be friendly and charming and would recommend this villa to anyone wanting to explore the Amalfi Coast.

May 2003 - We've been back for a month now....I miss my daily cappuccinos. We had a wonderful time in Italy and hope to go back again someday!

We spent a very relaxing 2 weeks at Villino dei Limoni. We enjoyed staying somewhere that felt less touristy than the rest of the Amalfi coast. We were able to buy all our groceries at "Tutto di Tutti" which is a small store just down about 400 steps down from the villa...we felt like locals. Bar del Sole, near the bus stop, was great for a cheap and delicious cappuccino... it also had a cheap internet connection. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed for cooking. The view of the sea is beautiful from the villa's terrace...we would have spent more time out there had it been a little warmer. We spent a lot of our time just reading and drinking vino rosso there. The owner was friendly, but let us do our own thing. While there isn't a lot to actually do in Praiano itself, it is very easy and inexpensive to take a bus to Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, Sorrento and Capri. Our only suggestion would be to give more detailed instructions on how to find the villa from the bus stop. There are actually 2 staircases leading up from the square and it is unclear which house is the Villa dei Limoni.

Thanks for all your help, we'll recommend the SummerInItaly.com website to friends planning a holiday in Italy.

October 2002 - We recently returned from a week at the Villino dei Limoni, in Praiano. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this villa as a good base for couples who want to get away from the large crowds of tourists!  Our wonderful host even arranged for a friend of his to collect us at the Naples airport, which really helped on the first day, as otherwise its quite a complicated trip from there by bus, via Sorrento, to Praiano. From Praiano it is easy to visit the entire Amalfi coastline via the local bus system, but be warned, you can't buy tickets on the bus and the newsagent that sells them closes from 11am-1pm each day. We also highly recommend the Pizzeria San Gennaro in Praiano, best mozzarella anywhere, and huge portions! The tourist office in Praiano is open late at night and can advise on timetables, walking maps, sight-seeing - everything! A lovely place for a lovely holiday!

September 2002 - We had a wonderful time in Villino dei Limoni. Unfortunately the vacation seems a long time ago!

The one thing that really makes the Villino dei Limoni is the veranda and the view.  It is a great place to have breakfast in the sun and watch the boats sail past.  The afternoons/evenings were also spent relaxing on the veranda after a hard day on the beach.

The location was nice and quiet although I would recommend that a hire car was essential to enjoy the area.  However, the bus service was frequent and convenient for trips to Positano and Amalfi.

The owner of the apartment, who lives near the Villino dei Limoni, welcomed us with an espresso which was certainly needed after the 146 steps from the road to the apartment. For this reason I would not recommend the apartment for those that could not cope with so many steps.

This can also be said of the village of Praiano which is located on a steep hillside.  The village is pleasantly quiet but with some very good restaurants for those that do not want to cook.  The village beach/harbour is nicely secluded and never seems too crowded - ideal for swimming, fishing and generally relaxing.

All in all I would say we had a great time in the Villino dei Limoni.

August 2002 - We have just come back from our trip in Italy. Our stay in Praiano, especially at Villino dei Limoni was exactly what we expected. A very nice welcome with special coffee awaited us upon our arrival and the house was just beautiful.

During our first weekend we had the pleasure of assisting a special event held at the local San Luca parish, with processions and fireworks galore.

Our choice of Praiano was remarkable. A smaller town than Positano and less touristy than Amalfi and Ravello. Just a beautiful place. Maybe it should be helpful to specify for other guests that there is a 150 step climb to the road to reach the car. I do not think that it is a good place for disabled persons. For us, it did not matter.

I would like to thank you again for your precious help. Services were really up to par and I will not hesitate to hand out your name to my friends.

July 2002 - We loved Villino dei Limoni.  It has a marvelous view from the very sunny patio. Very comfortable with everything you need.  A good sized fridge, full sized cooker, hot shower and lots of hanging space in the bedroom.

So peaceful for relaxing away the stress of a busy life.  We had a lovely time and would always recommend your website and Villino dei Limoni to our friends and family if they are looking for somewhere to stay in Italy.

Thank you very much for making our first visit to the Amalfi coast so enjoyable.

July 2002 - We are back from our trip to Italy, and had a wonderful time at Villino dei Limoni. We found the place a perfect place to relax. I would also like to emphasize the friendliness of the property manager.

We managed very well without a car.  We were even glad that we didn't have to drive on the Amalfi roads. Instead we used our bikes and the excellent public transportation.

Unfortunately, Villino dei Limoni can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
