October 2014 - Villa Favorita was exquisite. We have never stayed in a property like it.

The property itself was lovely, but the view was spectacular, among the most beautiful in the world. The photos don't do it justice. Our favorite part of the villa was the terrace. We had breakfast there each morning and ate delicious fresh figs from the beautiful fig tree. What a way to start the day! The garden filled with fresh produce was a bonus.

Guiseppe [the owner] could not have been more helpful.

We would definitely recommend Villa Favorita.

Summer In Italy were fabulous. They were friendly and professional and always responded promptly to my queries. I used another company for my accommodation in Rome and wished I had used Summer In Italy instead.

Travel tips

  • Do some stair training beforehand! While there are many steps to the beach, that's just Positano and the location of Villa Favorita halfway up the hill is ideal to enjoy the views.
  • Good nearby restaurants include Restaurant Da Vincenzo (down the steps towards the beach and first right on the street), Restaurant Li Galli (just above the villa) and Restaurant Next2 (some way along the same road as Restaurant Da Vincenzo, opposite the stairway to the second beach).
  • We recommend hiring a boat with driver to explore the Amalfi coastline and nearby grottoes.

Maria Luisa and her son Giuseppe [the owners] were most helpful and friendly, yet unobtrusive. The perfect hosts!

  • Lots of walking everywhere so get ready be in good physical condition to enjoy the town.. .we loved all the exercise.
  • Take a day boat for sure to get out and see everything.
