October 2009 - Enjoyed its view and cleanliness but did not enjoy the road in getting to the villa. Very dangerous and uncomfortable for people coming from a different country. Lots of noises throughout the night at times and difficulty sleeping.
Isabella, our host was excellent and very informative as well as nice
Travel tips
- Leave your car parked at the top in the town in the free parking lot and walk down to the villa. No chance of accidents or scratching your car.

April 2009 - Very charming setting, fixtures and decor that owners put some thought into.
Some of the furniture was not comfortable, the couch, and the kitchen table was a plastic patio table that was not very solid.
All the linens and towels were very nice, and the apartment was kept in good order.
Having the owners there on the property was a bonus as they were very nice and accommodating.
The hiking was spectacular and we would definitely return to this area.
Travel tips
- We relied on buses and what would appear to be a short trip to a neighboring town was an all day affair.

October 2008 - I think for 2 people this was perfect.
We did have the benefit of not having anyone in the villa next to us so we had the whole of the terrace to ourselves
Make sure you have a very small car as access is difficult.

June 2008 - Villa Diletta is in a semirural setting overlooking the owner's vines and olive trees and yet only a short walk into the small town of Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi with its many shops and restaurants.
The owner, Isabella, who lives in part of the property is a delightful person, very helpful and very friendly.
The real joy is the large terrace and it's very pleasant to relax here over a meal in the evenings watching the fireflies.
We were very pleased with Summer in Italy. Service was very professional and yet friendly. We have already recommended you to our friends, which is the way we got to know about your company.
Travel tips
- You really don't need a car here. There are frequent and cheap buses into Sorrento, Amalfi and Positano.
- If you want to go the beach, there is a good bus service into Nerano and Marina del Cantone with many good cheap restaurants and even a Michelin star restaurant (Restaurant Taverna del Capitano).
- If you tire of the crowds and heat in Positano you can get a local bus from there to Montepertuso and eat in the small square.

May 2008 - It was perfect for us and our now 1-year-old daughter. Very secluded and peaceful and completely sheltered from the midday sun (if that's what you wanted!).
The only drawback was the very narrow access road to Villa Diletta, completely worth it for us.
We would not hesitate however to recommend Villa Diletta, it's host - Mrs Isabella and her family, and if we chose to visit the beautiful region again, that is where we would stay!
Summer in Italy were great. They met us from our late flight and guided us to the villa which we would not have found alone! They have always responded to questions promptly and politely. We would definitely use their services again.
Travel tips
- Hire a small car! And fold your mirrors in at the top of the hill!!
- Positano is a must visit, absolutely beautiful!

May 2008 - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Diletta in May 2008.
The apartment is situated in a beautiful location with a fabulous view from the terrace over the countryside and the sea. It is very suitable for a small family or couples.
Isabella, the owner, is very kind and helpful, picking us up from the bus on our first day and gave us lots of useful tips on the area.
Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi is a nice friendly small town. It is very clean and quiet but still has good restaurants and bars. We were glad we chose to stay in Sant'Agata rather than Sorrento which was very noisy, dirty and had lots of traffic.
We would definitely stay in Villa Diletta again.
Travel tips
- The local bus service is excellent and very cheap. This made it very easy to travel to Sorrento and from there on to all the sights along the Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, Positano, Capri etc.
- There are lots of lovely hiking trails around Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi along the coast and linking up all the local villages.

May 2007 - We absolutely loved the Villa Diletta. It was in a perfect location to be able to see the sights in the surrounding areas and then come back in the evening to peace and quiet in a lovely small village.
All of the people living there were overwhelmingly friendly and Isabella [the owner] and her family were extremely accommodating.
Everything from booking on was handled professionally. All of our questions were answered in a timely fashion.
Travel tips
- Use the old road to walk into Sorrento. It is about a 45 minute walk and the sights along the way are breathtaking.
- Enjoy the firefly in the evening on the terrace if you are there during the warmer months.

May 2007 - We enjoyed our stay at Villa Diletta very much.
The whole experience was very different from the International Hotel in Rome and Boutique Hotels which we put up in Montecatini and Venice. It was indeed very relaxing, i.e. far from the maddening crowd but yet accessible to the city of Sorrento via bus from Sant'Agata Sui Due Golfi, which was the springboard for our tour of the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Pompeii.
Moreover, our stay was made more pleasant, comfortable and enjoyable through the courtesy of our gracious host, Isabella, who has been most hospitable and helpful.
Great job, Summer In Italy. Your response to all my queries was very prompt and informative. We will definitely choose you for our next Italian vacation.
Travel tips
- It is not advisable to drive in the steep and extremely narrow lanes in the hilly region of Sant'Agata and Massa Lubrense. Once in the villa, it is much more advisable to take public transport to visit the places of interest. It would not be economical to park the whole day in Sorrento to visit Capri Isle, dangerous to park in Pompeii and also to drive along the narrow Amalfi coastal road (the driver cannot enjoy the stunning views!)

October 2006 - We could not have been more pleased with our experience at Villa Diletta.
From the spacious main room, to the patio with a spectacular view, this is the perfect spot if you are looking for a quiet home base from which to explore the Sorrentine Peninsula.
Isabella, the owner, is very gracious and helpful, and she speaks excellent English.
We did not feel the need to have a car, as you are close enough to walk to town (it’s about a 10 minute hike up the hill on some narrow roads, pathways and steps).
From Sant’Agata, excellent bus service is available to take you to Sorrento (where you can catch a train to Pompeii or a boat to Capri) or to the Amalfi Coast. Sant’Agata also provides shops for groceries and other needs, an excellent tourist information office, and some very pleasant restaurants (not nearly as expensive as the famous Don Alfonso!)
A bit off the beaten path, yet close to everything, at Villa Diletta you’ll get a glimpse of what it’s like to live in the Italian countryside. By the end of the week, you’ll be saying hello (ciao!) to familiar faces in town. But one week is not enough!
We reached Summer in Italy via slowtrav.com, and were pleased to find a well organized web site that provided excellent information about properties and their locations. Efficient and professional, Summer in Italy delivered everything they promised.
Travel tips
- In addition to the well known attractions in the area, we very much enjoyed visiting the smaller towns of Massa Lubrense and Marina del Cantone.
- Be sure to have good walking/hiking shoes, as the terrain is often very steep.
- Our favorite restaurant in Sant'Agata was Ristorante da Mimi, with wonderful food and a very friendly and helpful staff.
- The walk from Sant'Agata to Sorrento took about an hour (downhill all the way!), and afforded some spectacular views of Sorrento.
- Don't miss the Blue Grotto on Capri: make sure you pick a calm day, so that the boats can go inside.

July 2006 - We loved our stay. Wonderful quiet place and very very nice housekeeper.
It was very comfortable for a holiday location.
If you like a very nice place, quiet and original, choose Villa Diletta. If you like nature, walk, choose it.
The village of Sant'Agata is typical in this simplicity. We liked it very much.
Thank you for your help. Everything right.
Unfortunately, Villa Diletta can not be booked at this time.
We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
