September 2011 - We had a wonderful 10 day stay at Villa Claudina (family of four -- parents and two sons in their twenties). The stairs (100 of them) are quite tough but after a few days our fitness levels had increased greatly -- it was worth the climb to get the magnificent views we had from the Villa -- you can see the whole Bay of Sorrento and the town of Amalfi below -- the sunrises, sunsets and night lights of Amalfi were a treat -- beyond any views we have ever had before.
The Villa is very clean and comfortable -- it catered to all our needs. The two terraces were great for eating outdoors. The Villa is easily accessible as it is on the bus route to Pogerola and the bus stop is right at the bottom of the stairs -- the buses run fairly frequently between Amalfi and Pogerola and we even got buses in the evening to get into Amalfi. Amalfi is very centrally situated for touring the whole coast -- we used buses and ferries/sea taxis to get wherever we wanted to go -- we did have a hire car but seldom used it as you need to have nerves of steel to ride around this coast.
The owners were great and made us feel very welcome and at home.
All in all it was a fantastic holiday and we wouldn't hesitate at all to go back to Villa Claudina if ever the opportunity arises again.
Summer in Italy were fantastic -- would definitely use them again -- nothing is too much trouble for them and they gave us great advice.
Travel tips
- Take mosquito lotions for summer.
- Villa has an automatic washing machine which makes life much easier when travelling.

July 2010 - We liked the villa. It was quiet and the view was fantastic.
I have already recommended Summer in Italy to friends, as I was impressed with the service before and during our stay. The newsletters were very informative before we set off.
Travel tips
- The bus from Amalfi to Pogerola goes straight past the house.
- Pogerola has some nice restaurants and it is easier to walk down the hill than up the hill.

October 2009 - The villa is placed in an excellent location above the city of Amalfi.
Except of a wireless intent line it was fully equipped with every thing one can thing of.
The owner, Mr. Andrea, was kind and cordial and was ready to assist when ever was needed.
There are 100 steps between the road and the house but every step was worth it. We will never forget the beautiful sights that were seen from the splendid balcony.
It was an excellent deal with a fair price.
Keep going, you are doing it well.

September 2009 - Very nice clean apartment with comfortable bed (we used the 1st room to live and sleep and used the 2nd room to cook as it had better kitchen facilities).
Beautiful views of Amalfi and the coastal area and a good location to visit other towns like Positano.
Parking is a test of ones driving skills but regular buses make it easy to leave the car (if you have one) to travel locally.
The 110 steps from the nearest parking or bus stop are not for the faint hearted with luggage but taken slowly are quite manageable for reasonably fit people. Old and infirm definitely not!
Yes, it was very enjoyable and would gladly recommend to others to rent. Everything was as promised.
Travel tips
- Be prepared for the steps.
- Plan to cook in the evenings a few times and enjoy the view and sounds of the area drifting up the valley with a bottle (or two) of the wonderful local wine sitting on the terrace.
- Figure out the bus service and leave the rental car behind when at all possible. Italian drivers like to use all the road, including your side!
- Shoot the rooster down the street!
Unfortunately, Villa Claudina can not be booked at this time.
We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
