October 2015 - Casa Nilde is a very pleasant apartment in a beautiful setting.

It is part of a family farm and offers an authentic Tuscan environment. It is in the middle of olive grove and looks out on classical landscape of farms and villas.

The apartment is private, with an entrance that faces in a different direction than the residence of the proprietors.

We have been visiting Florence for 40 years and Casa Nilde is one of the most pleasant places we have stayed.

The owners are friendly and interesting but also respectful of your privacy.

Travel tips

  • The country roads leading to the farm from the town of Grassina are quiet and fun.
  • The town is at the beginning of the road into the Chianti. The shops in Grassina are excellent.
  • Grassina itself is the terminus of a frequently serviced city bus line, allowing visits to Florence without the hassle of parking.
