September 2011 - We had a great time! Luigi and his wife [the owners] were very accommodating and pleasant. Our last night we wanted to having a relaxing dinner at a restaurant we had not been to. They made the reservation and a driver of the restaurant picked us up and took us back.
The view from the breakfast terrace and our apartment was awesome! Apartment was very clean! We were very happy with the accommodations!
Travel tips
- Being our first trip to the Amalfi coast it was quite the adventurous one! I would not rent a car until you actually get there and see if you can handle the driving! We rented a car in Rome and drove to Conca dei Marini. Had a GPS and good directions from Luca at Summer In Italy but still got lost! With that being said plan on doing a lot a walking if you don't have a car.
- Luigi [the owner] gave us a local map with the bus stops, market and thank goodness the pizzeria! That was the closest place to eat and it was open until 1:30 am. Good food and view, we ate there 3 times! Anyway it was still a challenge to find the bus stop and learn how to buy tickets, what bus to take and times. You had to take the local bus to Amalfi then another bus to wherever you are going. The problem is the last bus from Amalfi to Conca dei Marini leaves at 10 pm so if you are not back you had to find another way which was not easy. Also, the first time you try to find your bus stop in the dark is difficult. The bus drivers don't just stop!
- There are stairs from the main road from the bottom up. Good Luck! We started from the top one night trying to go down it got narrower and darker, my boyfriend stepped on a manhole and fell through. We turned around and ate at the pizzeria. The stairs from the Hotel Belvedere are much more lighted and wider but it is much farther away. Be prepared to climb about 500 of them!
- Two of our most enjoyable days was our trip to the Capri and the local beach Capo di Conca.
- There is transportation from Casa Marianna B to Capo di Conca and you can rent beach chairs and umbrella. There is a restaurant to. Try the octopus and the white wine with peaches. Don't expect any sand though, it is a ladder going into the ocean. Very pretty.
- The other day we took and excursion to Capri and it was 79 euros for 8 hours. We only had 6 other people on the boat which was a nice size cruiser. Captain spoke good English and showed us a great time. Went to a grotto, he stop for swimming , so bring or wear your suit and then we spent 3 hours on Capri. Stopped again for a swim on the way back. Very enjoyable day. There's a booth in Amalfi near the water to book it.
- If you want to book other excursions, book early. We planned to go to Pompei but they were booked on Saturday and we were leaving on Monday. They don't offer everyday. [you can also do it on your own].
- Ravello was very enjoyable (take a bus from Amalfi).
- Don't miss Positano! This is where I would probably suggest to stay if you don't rent a car. We ate at Chez Black twice. Very good food and reasonably priced.
- Casa Marianna was very nice but if you have any physical handicap or can't walk or climb stairs well it will be challenging.
- Oh I failed to mention that even though we did have a car my boyfriend was so freaked out about the narrow winding road he refused to drive so we relied on public transportation.

July 2010 - We enjoyed Casa Marianna B thoroughly! Luigi [the owner] and his family were warm and welcoming. The villa was spacious, open and very comfortable.
The village of Conca dei Marini was a real gem - pure Italia - with its exuberance, humility, great food and incredibly picturesque scenery. Not to mention the 1000+ steps for keeping fit and the lack of tourist mania.
I would love to stay for a few months!
Excellently organized and enthusiastically communicated. Grazie mille!
Travel tips
- Remember the steps.
- Local restaurant was inexpensive with great food.
- Loved the cooling crystal water [swimming] and history of Cape Conca
- Walk to top village, which connected to Walk of the Gods, was awesome.

June 2009 - We had a one week stay in Marianna B, one of the best we've been ever.
The availability and sympathy of the owners are priceless, always keen on helping either related with the villa commodities or with making your stay in the Amalfi Coast memorable. We really had a wonderful time. Thank you all....
I would like to thank SummerInItaly for all the arrangements, not only for the villa but also for the rest of the suggestions. We loved the cooking class of Mamma Agata. We will for sure use your services again.

October 2008 - We enjoyed Casa Mariann B very much.
It has a great view with pleasant and helpful owners.
Travel tips
- Realize, if driving, that the roads are very narrow with sharp turns and should keep well on your side of the road. At times, you need to go off the road (onto the shoulder) to allow oncoming traffic to pass by you. Drive at the speed you are comfortable ... for those that want to go faster, just pull over (where safe) and let them go by :) Best Wishes!

March 2007 - Absolutely loved Casa Marianna B! Was a very nice, well-kept apartment and had a beautiful view of the ocean.
Great little store and a couple of restaurants within walking distance.
Conca dei Marini is a beautiful town on the Amalfi Coast that is close to everything but quiet as well.
Was very pleased with Summer in Italy. Would book through you again.

September 2006 - We found the location was excellent for traveling up and down the Amalfi coast by car.
The owners were helpful. For example, they provided an iron and ironing board when we asked.
The kitchenette and living room were fine and the shower was great with lots of hot water. Our only problems were the bed, which was hard, and the washer, which didn't work very well.
However, overall, we would return and recommend Casa Marianna B.
Travel tips
- There is a small grocery store just down the road which was very handy.
- There are many good restaurants to explore within 20 minutes drive.

September 2006 - Both myself and my girlfriend had a great stay at Casa Marianna B. The view from our balcony was worth the money alone, and the accommodation itself was very clean and exactly what we looking for/expecting.
The one minor criticism is its detachment from the towns of either Amalfi or Positano, as although we were both looking for a quiet week away from the hustle of everyday life, other than one(really nice) restaurant there was nothing else within reasonable walking distance.
However, if a quiet, detached week or two away is what you are looking for and you don't mind hiring a car/scooter to get around, this place comes highly recommended.

July 2006 - Casa Marianna B is a new decorated and very cosy apartment.
Almost everything in the apartment is of a very high quality - from the bathroom to the living room. And then of course the view !! The view from the balcony is fantastic.
When we arrived the apartment was very clean and we had a very friendly and warm welcome. The owners where very helpful and also during the week they asked several times if everything was OK.
A perfect place for your (romantic :-)) stay at the Amalfi Coast.

June 2005 - We thought that Casa Marianna was an oasis within an oasis.
The Amalfi Coast is so splendid to begin with, and to have the opportunity to 'live' like one of the locals for one week in such a unique and incredible part of the world was truly sensational.
It is perfectly situated for day trips to Positano and Amalfi, and the local beaches and views mean that you don't have to travel to find relaxation and beauty.
It really was an excellent experience all around. We felt that Summer in Italy prepared us honestly for where we would be staying and what it would be like and we were NOT disappointed!
Thank you for such a pleasant experience.
We will definitely recommend Casa Marianna to our friends and family traveling to that part of Italy.

June 2005 - We had a great time. The owners were very friendly and accomodating and provided much useful info (and rides to and from the bus stop) which was very helpful. The residence is beautiful, very clean and it felt quite spacious and comfortable with a spectacular view. The nearby restaurant, Polisportiva, has excellent food and service at great prices.
The location up the hillside and off the main road makes it very peaceful, with no traffic noise, and enhances the feeling of belonging to the local community. The apartment does have thin walls and floor/ceiling though so you do hear your neighbors somewhat in the mornings.
Getting to Amalfi or other nearby locations is a challenge if you don't have a car or scooter (I'd strongly recommend this); bus service involves a lot of walking and stair climbing but the scenery is awesome and the passersby very friendly and helpful.
Overall, we were very pleased and satisfied with our choice to stay here.
We initially considered Summer In Italy based on the favorable mention and link from slowtrav.com, and then liked the pictures and descriptions of properties online. The personnel I interacted with were very responsive to my questions which I appreciated. I would feel very comfortable using Summer In Italy again.
Unfortunately, Casa Marianna B can not be booked at this time.
We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
