September 2008 - The apartment was lovely and spacious with nice high ceilings. The view from the large windows was directly over the beach.
Being located right on the coast the coastal road passed straight by the house, it could be a little noisy during the day but we weren't bothered by it at night.
We really enjoyed our time here and the landlords were very nice and welcoming.
Travel tips
- It is no problem to walk along the coastal road to Amalfi, it took about 10-15 mins. Or the walk to Ravello by the top exit of the house took about 1 hour but with amazing views.
- The bus stops right outside the house if you are not into walking.
- The croissants from the little shop nearby were great for breakfast.

September 2008 - The children and I had a fantastic time staying at Casa Dipinta. The apartment is in a fantastic location with a lovely beach nearby, and within easy walking distance to the centres of Atrani and Amalfi.
We loved the apartment, with its large, airy rooms, frescoed ceilings and beautiful tiles everywhere. It is well appointed, and self catering was no problem whatsoever.
Summer in Italy have been fantastic to deal with, I definitely would use you again. All your communication, property information, website features have been accurate, informative and easy to use. Thank you for providing this service.
Travel tips
- This apartment is better than it sounds. And the location is fantastic.
- Small children may be a problem when walking on the road.

August 2008 - We loved our stay at Casa Dipinta!
The views are fantastic and the living room and bedroom set up so that you are constantly looking outside.
Location was great - so close to Atrani & Amalfi but not in the middle of the crowds.
The owners do a lovely job of being available without being intrusive.
Another fantastic rental from Summer In Italy - we do not even consider booking with another company for our trips to Italy - you provide great rentals with price and service to match. Grazie mille!
Travel tips
- Very easy walk to both Atrani & Amalfi
- Bus stop convenient for traveling to other towns.
- Good beach options either at the house or in Atrani.

July 2008 - Very friendly and helpful owners, despite little understanding of English, and our limited understanding of Italian.
Fantastic location for its proximity to the beach and to Atrani. Only downside is that the location is quite noisy, especially at night.
Very helpful service, and couldn't fault the description of the property. Will recommend to friends!
Travel tips
- There is a great local store, at the corner of the road to Ravello for all food needs.
- The walk to Ravello is also a must. Many many steps but very worthwhile for the view from the top.
- Avoid the sun chairs on the beach, the 'tourist' prices are a rip off.

July 2008 - Excellent accommodation - clean and spacious, with excellent views, splendid access to a nearby beach.
We very much enjoyed our stay.
Splendid service. We found Summer In Italy via Google and we would certainly use it again.
Travel tips
- To get to Amalfi we recommend the Metrojet ferry service from Naples - it's a very pleasant way to travel (much better than the bus).
- Public transport is very good so don't bother hiring your own car (which will just be a stressful liability with the roads along the Amalfi coast).

June 2008 - Casa Dipinta is a lovely property.
It is spacious and cool with wonderful views from the balcony.
It is also central to Atrani, 1 km from Amalfi and a bus ride away from Ravello.
It is also safe and quiet.
I have no advice for Summer in Italy. We received exceptional service as usual. Thanks to everyone.
Travel tips
- We eat and drink in Atrani as opposed to Amalfi as it is a very pleasant square where you can watch the world go by, also much cheaper than Amalfi if you're on a budget.
- There are a number of restaurants in Atrani, all good.
- There are two cafe bars also in the square.
- We spent our time at La Risacca as the owners and staff are lovely, great fun and very accommodating.

October 2007 - We loved Casa Dipinta. The location was actually better than we had realised as it was much closer to the beach and Amalfi than we had thought.
The apartment was very large in size and well equipped. Some noise at night from traffic but nothing obtrusive. The view was lovely and the beach idyllic.
The owner even came and uplifted us from Amalfi as it was coming on to dusk and brought us to the apartment!
Summer In Italy did a great job and we loved our time on the Amalfi Coast and at Casa Dipinta.
Travel tips
- This apartment is in a very good location with bus stops less than 50 yards away for local travel.
- Walking distance to Amalfi and Atrani.
- Local bar/coffee shop is both good value and friendly.

September 2007 - I did enjoy Casa Dipinta. The apartment was very spacious, clean. Great view.
Beach just at the entrance door. Small shop around the corner with friendly, helpful owners, and bus stop there. The only negative thing: noisy at night, but if you will keep balcony door closed at night you will be just fine.
Go for it and enjoy it!
I will recommend it to my friends.
Travel tips
- Around the corner small shop, friendly, English-speaking owners.
- Nice restaurants in Atrani, on the piazza and Le Arcate. I did not like the restaurant at the tunnel.

August 2007 - We thoroughly enjoyed Casa Dipinta and will definitely return.
Wonderful apartment, terrific views and the owners were so helpful and considerate.
Would highly recommend it to anyone.
We have booked with Summer in Italy a few times now and have always found the service to be exceptional. Thank you for everything.
Travel tips
- Nearly everywhere in Atrani and Amalfi is within walking distance. Also there is a bus stop just outside the door.

Travel tips
- We needed Internet and found a bar in Atrani that let you use their Internet if you sat at the bar. Also a travel agent in Amalfi (on the main thoroughfare - can't miss it) had Internet by the minute.
- This travel agent was also great for booking a boat for us 350 Euro for a whole day with captain - small boat fits 6 but well worth it - we went to Capri, boated around saw the various grottoes and had an awesome lunch in a small coastal town on the way back.
- Don't miss Villa Cimbrone in Ravello (during the day their beautiful gardens are open to the public for a small fee).

June 2007 - We enjoyed our stay at Casa Dipinta. The photos on the website do not do the apartment justice, as it is very modern, large and very clean. The owners, who live upstairs were lovely and helpful if we required their assistance.
The high ceilings in the apartment gave the appearance of a much bigger apartment. We enjoyed our stay very much as it was away from the touristy places, however within walking distance to a bar and nearby Atrani.
Having the beach right outside the apartment across the road was a bonus, even with the 200 odd steps.
I was recommended by Chiara from Mamma Agata's to contact Summer in Italy for accommodation. Very pleased with the professional, attentive service and the easy, comprehensive website. Best I have used! Keep up the good work!
Travel tips
- Great bar/grocery store around the corner, seemed to be open all day and stocked a great range of foods and a deli.
- Position enabled easy access to the Sita buses both to Amalfi or Ravello.
- Lovely, quiet beach right outside apartment, down 200 steps.

March 2007 - I loved Casa Dipinta, it was so peaceful and beautiful. I plan to go back there soon.
The food was great and the people were great.
That by far was the best place in Italy. Casa Dipinta was a perfect getaway for vacation.

October 2006 - Our stay at Casa Dipinta was truly an unbelievable experience. The apartment was very comfortable, the high ceilings made it feel like a palace, all appliances, fixtures and toilet in excellent working condition.
You have your privacy along with the sense of security and also knowing that if you need any information about the area, the owners were readily available for any questions you may have.
My 3-week stay made it difficult to say goodbye, I felt as though I was leaving family to return to Toronto.
I do plan to return, if all goes well, next year.
Your pictures were quite accurate on the property. The one thing I did miss was a sit down balcony, but the view compensated for that.
Travel tips
- While staying at Casa Dipinta, I enjoyed the convenience of the bus transportation for nearby towns, such as Minori, and Maiori and Ravello to be just at the end of the Castle.
- The walk to Amalfi (8 mins) was perfect and Amalfi was the center point for all bus excursions and boat cruises. Taking the bus from Amalfi, I was able to visit Praiano (20 mins) Positano (40 mins) and Sorrento (1 hr) and then along the southern coast to the city of Salerno, all, must see.
- Boats from Amalfi also to Capri, Positano, Sorrento and Naples.
- The restaurants in Amalfi were all amazing, The Seafood restaurant just past the Tunnel, incredible.
- Shopping in Amalfi was a wonderful experience and also very reasonable, I would recommend to take your time and visit Sorrento and Salerno before you complete your shopping.
- The only advice I would mention is the traffic, we were quite used to cars, living in the city, did not even notice, actually, it made us feel more secure rather than deserted and alone in the mountains.

September 2006 - Yes we enjoyed it and the location had an overall harmony and reflected a good taste.
We wish to be there once again. The owners (husband and wife) are handling the guests very well. They are friendly, and at the same time do not disturb the guest's privacy.

July 2006 - A beautiful week spent in Italy. The view from the balcony is stunning, and the beach being so close (and a quiet one at that, compared to Amalfi and Atrani) is a real plus.
The apartment itself is huge in every way, the most noticeable being the high ceilings which give a really spacious feel.
A couple of words of warning, however! Definitely a good idea to brush up on the Italian before you leave as there are hardly any people who speak English unless you're in the larger towns, and even then it's limited to menu translations etc. It IS a bit of a walk to Amalfi, especially if you've got young children, as the roads are very bendy and narrow and there are no pavements - you have to rely on drivers seeing you and slowing down. Also, because the main road runs right under the windows of the apartment, it is quite noisy if you leave the windows open at night - although because the rooms are so large it's comfortably cool if you close the windows and turn a fan on (keeps the mosquitoes out too!)
Overall, a brilliant holiday, Amalfi has a good atmosphere and the food we ate was gorgeous.
Summer in Italy centre were very helpful when a passport went missing and an excursion to Naples had to be made to get an emergency one too!

July 2006 - We really enjoyed everything.
We were very happy with the view of the water from 2 balconies: 1 off the kitchen and 1 off the bedroom.
The villa was very quiet. We did not hear the owner upstairs or the people next to us.
Everything was very clean and newly renovated. Everything was excellent.
It was only a 5 minute walk to Atrani and another 10 to Amalfi and really close to the bus stop to Ravello, etc. So as long as you can walk 15 minutes or so, it is in a GREAT location!
The beach was nice too. No complaints.
We are recommending Summer in Italy to all of our family and friends. We made the decision to book just based on an internet search and couldn't be happier. Thank you!

June 2006 - The pictures do not do this apartment justice. I was extremely happy with my surroundings, the cleanliness of the apartment, and the kindness of the owners. The owners even provided us with beach towels when we had forgotten to pack our own.
I couldn't have been more happy with my choice in Summer In Italy. Also, Summer In Italy was wonderful with their quickness to respond to all of my inquiries. They insured that all my concerns and questions were put to rest. I found Summer In Italy merely by Google. They were the best part of my trip in Italy. I can't wait to use them again.
I simply loved Casa Dipinta and hope that I get to visit this exact location very soon. It will be my first choice for the Amalfi area without a doubt!
Renters, know that their is some noise occasionally, but that is Amalfi. The drivers on the coastal road can't stop using their horns! It's a way of life. You get used to it quickly. With all the walking you do in the Amalfi & Atrani area, you pass out at the end of the day anyway.

May 2006 - We greatly enjoyed ourselves at Casa Dipinta.
The large rooms with high ceilings were wonderful to live in. The view was marvellous and the water easily accessible.
Everything functioned well: stove, washing machine, shower etc.
The location of the house was good, close enough to Amalfi for easy access but far enough to be away from all the tourists.
The friendlyness and helpfulness of the owners was an added benefit. Although we spoke little Italian and they spoke little English we managed to communicate and they showed us not only what we needed in the house but oriented us to the environment. At the end of our stay they even drove us to the bus stop in Amalfi.
We highly recommend Casa Dipinta.

May 2006 - The apartment was beautifully restored, with very attractive tile work. The rooms were airy and spacious. There was an excellent supply of dishes, glasses, and thoughtful touches such as candles.
The main drawback for us was the noise of the traffic on the coast road, which we often had to shut out. The location was good, as it was a great jumping off spot for hikes to Ravello, Minori and Maiori. It was easy to walk to Atrani and Amalfi.

April 2006 - We had an excellent time at Casa Dipinta and really enjoyed ourselves. The view from the apartment was lovely and the balconies were safe for our 16 month old daughter to stand on independently and happily entertain herself with all the friendly passers-by and owners of the flat (who lived upstairs) as well as looking at the boats on the sea.
The flat itself is spacious, light and airy and there was minimal noise from neighbours. The owners were very attentive and friendly and it was handy having them upstairs, eg to liaise handover with etc. The only slight thing that stopped it from being perfect was the proximity to the coast road, which did not have any pavements - felt tricky at times with a buggy. On the other hand the coast road was very handy to have so nearby as we could get buses very easily to pretty much anywhere!
There was also a lovely walk from the village up on the cliff, Ravello, straight down to the flat through orange and lemon groves.
The flat was also very near Atrani - lovely and quiet - and Amalfi - fairly busy but lovely too.
Overall we highly recommend Casa Dipinta!
Unfortunately, Casa Dipinta can not be booked at this time.
