August 2008 - The villa itself was in good condition and all appliances worked.
The views from the living room window were stunning.
The only downside to the villa was the amount of steps that needed to be climbed to reach the villa (126 were counted).

October 2007 - We enjoyed Casa Agnese very much.
It is very nice and spacious house with nice art, books and furniture. However the kitchen was small and not very practical. The bathrooms were not modern but o.k. Especially the master bedroom was very nice, the other two bedrooms were o.k.
The caretakers were very kind and helpful when we needed a plumber and when the gas had run out.

September 2007 - We thought the accommodation was quite good, especially the lounge, dining, entry and master bedroom. The views were very nice and the location close to bus stop, grocery store and coffee shop was good. We thought the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms were below standard. The kitchen was poorly equipped and very small.
The overall character of the property was nice however, and we felt it just needed a good spruce up.
I have been impressed with the overall service and efficiency of Summer In Italy.
Travel tips
- Make sure you buy a book of 11 tickets for the Interno Positano bus from the small general store on the corner near the bus stop - it is a bit cheaper than buying it on the bus and more convenient.
- Try the Spiaggia (Beach) Fornillo instead of the main beach, which is a fairly short and beautiful walk around the point heading west from the main beach. Hire your beach chairs, towels etc from the Grassi Cafe - almost half the price to the main beach, the gravel is easier to walk on, the beach is quieter and quite stunning, and the cafe manager and staff exceptionally friendly, and the cafe is right on the beach, plus the food is nice and very reasonably priced
- On the road approx one third the way down to town (you can get there fairly quickly via the steps) there is a lovely restaurant called Restaurant Da Gabrisa, attached to a family run boutique Hotel Da Gabrisa, which has friendly service, lovely food and a great view - try and get the tables on the far side of the road which overlook the ocean.

July 2007 - We stayed at Casa Agnese from 30 June to 7 July. We really liked Casa Agnese.
The location was for us ideal - we liked the fact that it was just outside the centre of the town and so away from the more constant flow of people while at the same time being a short distance from being part of that part of Positano. I think this is a key selling point for the property - proximity to the mainstream glamour of Positano but with the ability to be away from it and to benefit from a much more local feel.
We were very impressed by the standard of your service. When we had difficulty in communicating with the caretaker this was dealt with very promptly. Would highly recommend you to anyone looking to rent in the area.
Travel tips
- Bar Internazionale - great place to start and end the day. Just down the bottom of the lane.
- Restaurant Costantino up the lane and along the road a bit - good food (eat in or take away), outstanding view and much better priced than the places in the centre of town.
- Gentleman who does guided walks in the area - his details are on the board outside Bar Internazionale. We were not able to use him but friends of ours have and they highly recommend him for his overall local knowledge.
- A couple of shops/grocers at the end of the lane near next to Bar Internazionale and also one about 300 metres down the road towards the centre of town - closer than that using the lane about 50 metres down the road - wider variety of food available at this place.
- Trip to Amalfi/Ravello - recommend going out by bus and back by boat.

June 2006 - Casa Agnese is a wonderful home, with a courtyard that invites guests to linger and talk.
The large living room is comfortable and well decorated. The three bedrooms and three baths made our party of six comfortable and relaxed throughout the week.
Great service, thanks.

October 2005 - The six of us had a wonderful time in Positano, with our accommodation being very satisfactory indeed.
The location was exceptional, we got extremely fit walking down the stairs everyday sometimes twice a day down to Positano Beach!! As you can imagine it was very much needed due to the fantastic food and wine that was consumed during our stay.
We did have a problem with no gas being in the gas bottle but the housekeeper/caretaker took care of this immediately with minimum fuss.
We would all definately stay at Casa Agnese again !!
Thank you for making our time in Italy a memorable one.

September 2005 - We were all very impressed with Casa Agnese. It comfortably accommodated 8 people and was in a good position to get a real feel for living in Positano.
The locals are all very friendly and helpful and Carmela, the caretaker, was wonderful.p>
Would happily stay there again on our next visit.

July 2005 - Casa Agnese was a great place to stay. An apartment in a very old part of Positano. Stunning views.
Great location - parking very hard to find on the little road above the villa. Great local atmosphere - I concur with the comments about the bar at the end of the street.
Positano has everything apart from decent shops - lots of beach and summer wear a lot of tat but the rest of Positano is incredible. Take a boat trip around Capri - but cheap beach stuff in the hypermarket after Naples.
Positano is very steep - there is a local bus service 1 Euro PP each way - essential!
Great restaurants - great beaches incredible views.

January 2005 - We enjoyed our stay at Casa Agnese. It is spacious and has pleasant territorial views through large windows in the living room. It also has nice french style doors in the dining room and main bedroom.
In the summer, the private patio would likely be very enjoyable and expand the living area even further with french doors opening onto it from three sides of the "U" shaped apartment.
We enjoyed the location -- reached only by steps. There is a nice neighborhood paved "park" with a beautiful sea view outside the church (also reached only by steps) and a few steps further uphill is the front door to Casa Agnese.
I liked working with Summer in Italy. You have been very responsive to my questions and very helpful. I think your prices together with that responsiveness were the reasons I decided to book with Summer in Italy -- I felt I was getting prompt and friendly service by people who were really trying to help.

September 2004 - Casa Agnese is a fantastic, spacious villa easily big enough for large groups to enjoy without invading each others space.
Once we got used to the step we had a great time and would definately revisit.
You offer a friendly, efficient service, just carry on doing what you do so well.

September 2004 - Having had a fantastic stay in Positano I only have good things to say about Casa Agnese, perhaps that is biased but the apartment was a definite bonus. One thing I would say is that as it is towards the top of the hill, if you hate steps then it may not be the place for you but a regular bus takes you to the bottom of the steps to the apartment if a climb up the hill through Positano doesn't take your fancy. The advantage of being at the top are the amazing views and the peace and quiet.
A major plus was a bar/shop at the bottom of the steps that sells the finest of wines and a selection of good food (and is open late into the evening), with a very friendly restaurant next door which is a lot cheaper but just as good as some of the restaurants further down into the town.
Altogether a great place to stay and if there is a number of you it works out at great value. I would definitely stay at Casa Agnese again and another Positano visit is a must.

July 2004 - We had a wonderful stay in Casa Agnese. It is in a nice and quiet part of (very lively) Positano, very near the main bus stop, some shops and a good restaurant.
We parked our car in a garage and did everything by public transport which is comfortable; connections are good, both to the beach and shopping centre, as well as to major other destinations (Amalfi, Sorrento, etc.). We also travelled a lot by boat (faster and nice views on the Amalfi-coast).
The house is beautifully decorated and very comfortable (cool in high summer!). We were very glad with the extensive library and left some books for new guests. We can recommend it to everybody who is not afraid of climbing a few steps.
We are satisfied with the booking procedure and all services. We will come back!

May 2004 - Our vacation in Positano exceeded our expectations. We loved the area and Casa Agnese, that we seven called home for a week.
The home was efficient yet elegant. Of the seven nights, we cooked in the Casa four evenings. It was a family celebration of the fruits of the area. At the base of the hill was the pastry and spirits merchant, as well as the grocery store and fabulous produce market.

April 2004 - Casa Agnese was a fantastic place to stay! There is a large entrance hall, kitchen, dining room and living room all kept to very high standards. The well-lit garden is a great place to hang out after a long day and if that’s not enough there’s a library! There is also a modern Sony TV and when we went there was an amplifier and speakers ready to be hooked up to our Personal DVD player!!
The bedrooms are great too all en-suite and with plenty of storage.
Finally the town itself is great, friendly locals and endless beauty, if your looking for food this is the place! Try the foccaccia at the 'Covo' by the dock.
When I go back to positano, if there are 4 or 6 of us I will stay here again!

April 2004 - We had a wonderful time and found the house to be very spacious and comfortable.
We particularly appreciated its location near Bar Internazionale (breakfast & afternoon snack), with its' SITA and Positano internal bus stops, and the grocery store and vegetable store.

February 2004 - Casa Agnese was wonderful -- beautifully decorated and fully-equipped -- and Carmela [the caretaker] took very good care of us during our stay. She does not speak English at all, so be prepared to speak Italian or at least have a phrase book handy.
Positano is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever seen; our whole family really enjoyed the beach, restaurants, and shops. It seems clear that the off-season is the best time to visit, because the area gets very crowded in the summers. We highly recommend Chez Black's restaurant, right on the beach.
The Summer in Italy website made viewing and selecting a place to accommodate our group extremely easy and the additional information about transportation, navigation, and activities in the area were very helpful. The people at Summer in Italy were extremely accommodating in making the arrangements for our stay and providing additional information that we needed.

October 2003 - Casa Agnese is set in a little warren of homes all owned by local people living and working in Positano. Surprisingly we found very little English spoken in the immediate area, but were always greeted by warm smiles and communicated with sign language. A phrase book was very handy.
The house itself is situated high up above Positano (walk down, bus back) with sea glimpses from the balcony. There is a steep (but atmospheric) climb up quite a few steps - we lost count of how many!
The house was spotlessly clean, but I don't think it had been used for a while because it smelt a bit musty. It is nicely furnished with loads of lovely paintings on the walls and local ceramics around. There is a lovely internal patio, shaded by a vine with a big table and chairs which would be fantastic in summer (sadly it rained for most of our week in October).
Casa Agnese is a perfect place to stay for an authentic Italian experience, in a very 'touristy' area.
I cannot finish without mentioning SummerinItaly. The website is well designed and easy to use. We had excellent service, especially as we needed to arrange a holiday that fell outside the normal Saturday-Saturday arrangement. The staff was very helpful. I would definitely use SummerinItaly again and have recommended them to others.
Unfortunately, Casa Agnese can not be booked at this time.
We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
