October 2011 - Our family loved Appartamento Samuele. We felt like we were living the Italian way of life and loved the quirkiness of the lift, the grandeur of the hallways and the high ceilings and good taste of the decor.
The lady who met us was very kind and helpful.
Loved the view from the main bedroom, loved the fact it was lively and would people watch from the window. Shame the park opposite never seemed to open. Loved the nearby supermarket, very stylish and the food and wine was very reasonable if you are on a budget.
The kitchen had everything needed for self catering and we enjoyed cooking in there. We went to a cooking class in Travestere with Andrea which was the highlight of the week. We went with the kids and cooked a four course meal with wine at a reasonable price, highly recommend that.
Travel tips
- Just walk and remember to stand by the counter for coffees instead of sitting down, much cheaper and when in Rome.
- The taxis aren't bad value after a day of walking so treat yourself.
- The park Villa Borghese was beautiful and if you have the time a great place to people watch.
- Loved the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon etc usual sites but also just wandering.
