Fantastic

November 2013 - We loved our stay in Appartamento Nemorina. Totally fantastic views and terrace.

Appartment was very well equipped - easy to cater for ourselves with everything there that was needed. Felt very at home! Shame there weren't any french windows onto terrace from the living room - but that is being very fussy!

The owners were also fantastic - did not intrude at all but were available when needed and were always extremely helpful.

Travel tips

  • Enjoy the amazing views and huge terrace!
  • Be aware that the driveway is extremely steep - but then so is everything else on the Amalfi coast!

Fantastic

September 2013 - A lovely, clean, quiet apartment. It's main selling point? The view! We could see down into the town, out to see and all across the coast.

As apartment Nemorina is situated above the town, you have to be prepared for a 15 min walk to the nearest restaurant, 20-25 mins if you want to head into the centre of town - and then walk uphill again at the end of the night!

Travel tips

  • Bring a phrase book! The family who own the apartment are welcoming and friendly. Their English is limited and my Italian is poor, so the phrase book was a godsend!

April 2012 - We had a wonderful time staying at Appartamento Nemorina B! I would highly recommend it. The only disappointment was that due to rain we were not able to enjoy the beautiful terrace as much as we had hoped.

The kitchen is great with a super coffee machine and excellent oven/stove. The bedroom has an incredible amount of storage making it easy to unpack and not feel like you are living out of a suitcase for a week. You will not regret staying here!

Tony [the caretaker] was brilliant, showing up to the apartment and giving us advice on what to see and where to eat.

The town is full of wonderful friendly people as well.

We had a great time, a wonderful accommodation, a wonderful holiday.

Travel tips

  • Visit Vivero, the wine bar for a night, you might be surprised with delicious cooking by the bartender like we were.
  • The Hike of the Gods is a must do!
  • Travel by bus not car. We hired a car and quickly realised it is much easier/less stressful hopping on a bus.

Travel tips

  • A car is a must because the place is pretty far from the main road.
  • If you're happy with loneliness, this might be a good place for you as really nobody bothers you even if the owner lives 30 m away.
  • There's nothing upscale but the place looks new and clean and everything is functional.
  • Not far away is a store named "Tutto per tutti" where you find almost anything you need (including a pretty large selection of Italian wines in the basement), pick, pay and they'll carry the shopping at Nemorina for no charge.
  • As everywhere in the area, the ants will almost invade the place if don't clean after your meal.

June 2011 - We loved the apartment and thought the size and storage etc were well above average. Very clean.

Travel tips

  • This was not a problem for us but guests do need to be aware of steepness of village, if not hiring a car.
  • Restaurant La Strada in Praiano was excellent - we returned several times. The staff remembered us and we had attentive but not fussy service and excellent food.
  • Although local Praiano-Positano bus tickets can be bought on the bus, they are cheaper if bought at the Tabacchi in advance.

March 2011 - I would like to say that the owner waited for us till 12 at night when we arrived and we appreciated it a lot (after 5 hours driving from Rome).

The apartment is large, the kitchen is well equipped and the view is more then we expected. It is located between Positano and Amalfi and it is an excellent location.

In short, I recommend it to everyone.

October 2010 - This may no be everyone's cup of tea as you will need a good working knowledge of Italian as little English is spoken. That said, this was my dream vacation as I was in the everyday Italian fabric with no other tourist around.

The insanity of the Amalfi road was the only thing that made the trip hard, it is not for the timid.

The owners are wonderful people and a true delight, we're looking to go back same time year after next this time for a longer stay.

The instructions and email communications were great and look forward to using your service again. Found you on the internet, liked you great selection of properties and prices with good descriptions and pictures. We can't think of a thing you can do to make your service better, it was a pleasure doing business with you.

Travel tips

  • The apartment is on the top road and the city bus stop is a long walk so a car is necessary unless you rent a motor bike or in very good shape.
  • This is a true self catering apartment but worth every penny for the peace and quiet with outstanding views of the sea.
  • We didn't try the local restaurants due to our own cooking with the fantastic supplies from the local store Tutto per Tutti, very good selection of local wines and produce.
  • We took day trips to Amalfi, San Marzano, Ravello, Sorrento and Salerno.
  • The best pizzas you'll ever have are at Ristorante Pizzeria Vittoria in Ravello, next best is Lido Ristorante Pizzeria Stella Maris on the beach front next to the main parking lot in Amalfi.
  • If you do go to San Marzano try Ristorante Pizzeria La Griglia, the owner makes a wonderful Limoncello he shared with us.

September 2010 - The apartment is reasonable value for money, the view is wonderful and the owners are very friendly. The main problem is that there isn't anywhere very comfortable to sit if it's raining as there is only a sofa bed without any back. If the weather is reasonable though, the terrace is lovely and so you wouldn't spend much time in there anyway.

We booked due to a good web site and finding a nice looking property. The service was wonderful, with the information on the web site in sent to us in advance via e-mail being useful. Knowing that there is a 24 hour help line was also reassuring in case we had problems.

Travel tips

  • A wonderful view over the town and along the coast, but be aware that it's a 15 minute walk to the restaurants etc. down a steep hill, and thus a hard walk back afterwards.
  • I'd think twice about hiring a car as driving and parking isn't easy in the area, and the local buses are easy and reliable.
  • Trattoria San Gennaro is a very nice restaurant,as is Restaurant La Strada.
  • I would also recommend getting the train up to Pompeii and Herculaneum as both are brilliant.

Unfortunately, Appartamento Nemorina B can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
