October 2011 - My daughter and I had a fantastic time in your apartment. The view is splendid and changes everyday.

The two bedrooms are large and so comfortable. Kitchen is basic but enough to prepare small meals.

We will definitely return. We felt safe and very comfortable with a view to die for. Thank you.

Travel tips

  • You will enjoy your stay here as it is beautiful like a postcard and feels like home straight away.
  • Bus is just down the street to take you around the coast.
  • We did a trip to Positano and Sorrento which we really enjoyed.
  • Make sure to take a boat trip to Capri as it was an unbelievably unforgettable experience, especially the boat trip.

October 2011 - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was peaceful to return to Praiano each evening and the 120 steps were not as difficult as we thought! The hill walk was a bit daunting but we learned to ask the red bus driver to let us off at the top of the hill.

Re location: It was great. I mention this only to make things a bit clearer. From the main road where the bus stop is located, it is about a 1/2 kilometer walk up a steep hill and then 120 steps up. This area is also where the few shops are located. Though the beach is listed as 770 yards, there are actually 2. One is from the main part of town, and though it is 770 yds, it is about 500 steps! The other can be reached by the red local bus to the other end of Praiano and then a walk down a steep hill, but no steps. The easiest beach to reach was actually by taking the red bus to Positano. Lovely beach there with cabanas for rent and restaurants to bring food to the beach.

Re arrival - we had a driver from Naples train station, called ahead and met the owner at Bar del Sole, and then drove on up the hill. We would not like to have been dropped at the bar with luggage! We did pay the owner 20E extra to carry the 4 suitcases up. Worth it.

Re accommodation: We did not realize from the description that there was no actual living room and that the terrace was our living space. This worked very well as the view was absolutely spectacular and the weather was great. We had a large umbrella for the few misty nights. However, had it been cold, the 2 couples would have had to sit in the bedrooms! Reading back, this is clear as the unit is described as 2 bedroom and kitchen but we didn't realize it and it should possibly be mentioned.

We did have one issue - upon arrival, I mentioned to the owners son, Elio, that there were small red ants on the terrace. I was told it was common and not to worry. Each morning, they would be in a parade to eat whatever bugs were on the terrace. We would hose down the terrace and be fine for the day. However, on the 4th morning, we woke up to an infestation in the kitchen. Had it not been for the neighbour, Giuseppe, who had a very powerful spray, we would have been out of there! We called Elio, who dismissed it outright, again, but after our insistence, he agreed to come by in a few hours. He did not come, but sent a housekeeper with a half inch of spray in a bottle. It would not have worked! We found a nest on the rock wall above and had they been dealt with when we mentioned it upon arrival, we would not have had this experience. Elio's mother came the last day and we made her aware and she was very apologetic. However, things happen and we are very easy to get along with. Other than that, all was good. The place was spotlessly clean, the view amazing.

I have been looking at your site for years! Very well done. My booking with you was effortless, you had good contact, payment was easy, and you dealt with our questions immediately. I have already, and will continue, to recommend your site to friends.

Travel tips

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was peaceful to return to Praiano each evening and the 120 steps were not as difficult as we thought! The hill walk was a bit daunting but we learned to ask the red bus driver to let us off at the top of the hill.
  • We tried several in Praiano but mostly liked the food, view, balcony and atmosphere at the Hotel Tramonto D'Oro. We actually went 2 evenings and it is a short walk down the hill from Nadina B. We also bought pasta and sauce and salad at the local grocer and ate on our own beautiful balcony a few nights.
  • We took the Sita blue bus to Amalfi (lovely town) and then the ferry from Amalfi to Positano so that we could see the seashore. Local red bus back to Praiano. When leaving Positano beach to get the bus, go up the alley to the back of the church - we went to the other side and climbed about 500 steps!
  • Took a day trip to Capri - small group which we booked through the Hotel Tramonto D'Oro. The advantage to booking this way versus booking through just a tourist place was that for 3E extra, they drove us to the beach in Praiano both ways and provided a zodiac ride to Positano to meet the tourboat. Great deal. Capri was very touristy and I'm not sure we would do it again. Didn't get into the Blue Grotto, saw a lovely one on the zodiac ride back from Positano. Next time I think we might just rent our own boat for a few hours and explore the coast.
  • Took the Sita bus into Sorrento for a day. Again, lovely town and lots of shopping. About an hour each way.

September 2011 - Overall the apartments were very nice however the location and 110 steps to access should be emphasized. For most people over a certain age this would not be an alternative. If we were to rent in Amalfi again we would ensure that the access was a key consideration.

July 2011 - Beautiful apartment with stunning views! The area itself is breathtaking.

Caretaker was the son of the owner and was extremely friendly and helpful and spoke good English.

There are 107 steps up to the apartment which proved no issue to us as a family but may need some consideration for less mobile families. The caretaker was however very keen to carry our luggage up the steps for us which made things a lot easier. The local supermarket delivered straight to the door at no extra cost which was also useful.

The village is quiet but very friendly.

The apartment is clean and modern with fabulous views over the sea from each room.

We would definitely recommend the village and apartment and hopefully will visit again.

We found Summer in Italy very easy to deal with. They were helpful and their English was good. Hope to deal with you again soon!

Travel tips

  • Think carefully about hiring your own car the drivers are mad! You need to adapt to drive like the locals but if you feel that you can cope with this is it definitely a bonus to be free to travel at your own pace.
  • Things are very expensive but the holiday itself was worth every penny!!!

June 2011 - Beautiful views, clean and well appointed bedrooms/baths, lots of space around the apartment to relax.

Enjoyed it very much, a wonderful way to relax on vacation -- after you get up the stairs!

Praiano is a lovely, quiet town.

The owner is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

Everything worked out very well for us.

Travel tips

  • Just be prepared to tackle the 107 stairs. It is worth it!
  • We ate in several restaurants in town, all good.
  • We bought pottery from the shop near the bus stop, used the buses and also the ferry system from Amalfi. All easy to manage!
  • Visited Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, Capri using public transportation. Used a car/driver service to visit Pompeii and Herculaneum and from Rome to Praiano, took the train from Naples to Rome for return.
  • Outstanding trip in one of the most beautiful areas in the world!

May 2011 - A great and convenient location.

This bright and cheerful apartment is actually divided into two separate rooms, entered from a private large terrace all with a million dollar view over the ocean as well as the village... Both rooms were well appointed with good quality beds and linen, the bathrooms were outstanding, all was super clean and worked perfectly, including internet. The kitchen was small.

The owner speaks fluent English, lives in Positano, but was available any time if needed. A gracious hostess.

We are planing to return.

September 2010 - Really enjoyed the apartment. It was extremely well appointed, everything had been thought of.

Very friendly and helpful owner - nothing too much trouble.

Spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

Great location, wonderful views and a short walk down to the town and bus stop.

Booked with Summer In Italy because like the apartment. Friendly and communicative staff, lots of info (my only negative comment might be that there was almost too much unnecessarily detailed information - if there's too much to read it's off-putting).

Travel tips

  • Don't take too much luggage - it's 105 steps up to the apartment!
