September 2007 - The apartment was clean and was above expectation, the views where exquisite, the apartment was centrally placed for the surrounding area, as long as you are willing to travel, and beautiful and the staff where friendly and gave excellent service, especially Dominic who was humorous, helpful, and bent over backwards to accommodate our every need.

The head maid/breakfast lady was also extremely helpful and done her job well.

Not suitable for the elderly with limited mobility due to the many steps but would be excellent for honeymooners due privacy, views etc.

July 2006 - We really enjoyed our stay.

The pool and direct access to the sea were great; the kids loved jumping from the cliffs.

We all enjoyed being served breakfast on the seafront terrace every morning.

The apartment was very clean and the air conditioning made it comfortable for the warmer nights. The renovated bathroom was a pleasant surprise.

Dominic [the caretaker] was fabulous. So helpful and lovely man. The house keepers were lovely and so friendly. Nothing was too much trouble but also left us to enjoy our holiday.

Summer in Italy were fabulous. You hit the apartment right on the head when we gave you our needs you recommended this place and it was perfect for our needs. We are so grateful - you couldn't have done anything else better.

August 2005 - The staff were very friendly and helpful and the apartment clean and well kept.

The breakfasts on the terrace, with the beutiful views, were just wonderful.

The only fault we had with the apartment was that the balcony was very narrow. On the whole however we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The staff from Summer in Italy were very helpful and we would recommend the company to our friends.

August 2005 - We had a wonderful week at Appartamento Elena. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Wonderful view.

Wish we had discovered how easy it was to walk to Atrani and then to Amalfi by the high footpaths ealier in the week. We will just have to come back again to do some more walking at a different time of the year maybe.

June 2005 - Truely fantastic experience. Staff were friendly, helpful and the villa is very well maintained.

Those who find climbing steps difficult should be aware that there are alot due to the villas location.

My family (3 small children) really enjoyed themselves and the maid service, provided breakfast and secure parking are an added bonus.

September 2004 - What a beautifiul place. The view from the terrace is fantastic. We had a chance to do a little cooking and kitchen had everything we needed.

My wife really enjoyed just sitting out on the terrace and reading..

We will highly recommend this appartment and all the others in the villa to our friends.

July 2004 - Appartamento Elena was just beautiful. I thought the views from the balcony were just breathtaking!

The staff was so incredibly kind and gracious - always ready and willing to help in every way! The appartment was always clean and airy. The bedrooms were very roomy.

The kitchen was a small one but equipped with everything one would need to cook a meal.

Sharing the properties with only eight families was perfect because there were just enough people there to find someone of whom you were able to engage in a conversation with, and yet not so many people for you to feel like you did not have any privacy. There were even a few times when my family was able to have the pool all to ourselves! It was much nicer than being in a large resort or hotel.

Piero and his staff should be highly commended for their hospitality! They really helped make the vacation just perfect!

Looking through the web and trying to find a place to stay was made very easy with all of your lovely photos and very descriptive information. It honestly put us at ease knowing that "what we saw was going to be exactly what we were going to actually get".

July 2004 - Appartamento Elana was just as it is shown on your pictures on the Summer in Italy web-site. It was beautiful! The view was to die for! We enjoyed the pool area very much - as well as swimming in the sea.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean, and attended to daily.

We loved the remote location for it's beauty and peace and quiet, however, the location was somewhat of a problem when it came to meals. Taxi's to and from surrounding towns were very expensive.

Overall, we loved the experience we had at the villa.

Summer in Italy was wonderful! How lucky I was to come accross your web-site! Your service was extremely freindly and helpful! And the property was just as it was shown on the web-site.

June 2004 - We have a wonderful, wonderful time at appartamento Elena. My kids did not want to go back home but we had to so we could come back some other time.

I would recommend it to friends and relatives. As a matter of fact a friend of mine said she will follow my itenerary when she goes.

As for the staff, everyone is great. The ladies, Katia, Marina and Rafaella were all gracious people. So is Piero and another guy which I forgot the name. We came to meet Dominic whom we read extensively and favorably on the comments of your guests on the website.

I cannot tell you how we truly enjoyed the place. Thanks!

June 2004 - During our four weeks in Italy, Appartamento Elena was the highlight. The villa exceded our dreams and our week there was wonderful. The staff couldn't have been more helpful or delightful, organising everything from boat trips, barbeques to our laundry.

The setting was spectacular amongst flower-filled urns and statues, and many evening was spent under the lemon grove sampling the local wines or limoncello just soaking up the breath-taking views.

The pool was beautiful and access to the sea was a real bonus.

Anyone wanting to spend time on the Amalfi Coast couldn't wish for a Villa with more style or charm.

The service you provided was excellent and I would recommend anyone going to Italy, to book a villa through you. You couldn't have been more helpful or prompt in your replies and it gave us confidence to choose Summer in Italy.

August 2003 - I must thank you for all of your assistance with our stay in Italy. Our trip was wonderful and we had a great time.

Our stay at Appartamento Elena was simply wonderful. From the moment that we arrived, we felt as though we were in paradise. The staff was so helpful (as you know... lots of steps) in assisting us with carrying our bags to our apartment.

The lush surroundings and sounds of the sea below were calming and soothing after our stay in Rome. It was so nice to be able to hire a boat for the day and to be picked up at the villa's edge. As for the apartment... beautiful furnishings, large rooms and the balcony overlooking the sea! It could not have been more charming.

As for the Amalfi coast in particular, it is beautiful!!! Ravello in particular, is a town of culture and class. The gardens of Villa Cimbrone are a must see for any traveler and there are so many wonderful family owned restaurants with incredible menus.

We will be sure to return for another vacation as soon as possible!

June 2003 - Robert: My friends and I were thoroughly amazed by the lush grounds of the villa. We rented the Appartmento Elena for a week this past June.

The large, airy bedrooms were comfortable, cooled at night by the gentle breeze blowing off the sea. In warmer months, it may be wise to request a fan from the staff at the reception. The kitchen worked well for preparing small meals. The staff meticulously maintained the apartments during our stay. The reception staff is friendly and helpful.They organized an unforgettable private boat trip to Positano and Capri for us.

We had a wonderful time with the other guests, spending abundant amounts of time on the patios by the swimming pool and on the platform beside the sea.

While planning this trip, each of our e-mail inquiries were answered in detail, promptly and courteously, by a gentleman named Luca from the staff at summerinitaly.com. Our stay in this special place was unforgettable.

Michele:  I had never been to Europe before this June. I was absolutely breathless when I walked into the villa. After not sleeping for approximately 24 hours for travel time, I was more excited than I have ever been. I just could not believe that I was going to be in this Beautiful, spiritual place for 2 weeks.

Appartamento Elena was even more exciting to see and when I got to my room off the balcony I had tears of joy. Piero the manager there and Mimmo the night manager were wonderful. The view, access to the sea, pool, flowers, lemon trees and the people were amazing. I have been home for a week and I am in love with the Amalfi coast. I am beginning to think about planning my next trip there.

The other guests became friends and 4 of us became 10 of us and we all spent time at the villa and out at other places together. I really cannot say enough about this place it fare exceeded my expectations. I will go back. I don't feel the same after having such and amazing experience at the villa! Thanks for everything.

Craig: Apartamento Elena was EVERYTHING we could have hoped for.

The first night we cooked our own Penne Arrabiata in the kitchen and ate on the balcony overlooking the sea, my friends and I thought we had died and gone to heaven. The location is perfect, the Villa charming and beautiful and the staff warm and helpful.

Often Internet gambles don't turn out well - this vacation was more than we could have hoped for and the site is more beautiful than the pictures conveyed!

Thank you for your many emails before our arrival and the help you provided to make sure our first vacation in Italy won't be our last!

November 2002 - Kim and I loved the Villa as a base camp for operations on the Amalfi coast. While driving can be treacherous, the parking lot available to guests makes things very convenient. Be aware that there are many stairs to climb no matter where you stay in the Villa for ingress and egress (whether directly to the water or back up to the road).

The service was just enough to make things comfortable without making you feel like you're in a hotel - the staff is like family - very friendly, multilingual. Sheets get changed and apartment gets cleaned every day. The kitchen is adequate enough to be able to prepare light meals in the evening and sit outside an enjoy the views. The neighboring towns of Minori and Praiano, while not the most beautiful for post card purposes, were great for shopping for food and drink to provision the Villa and being less swarmed with tourists, were more appealing to us.

We chartered a boat to go along the coast and to Capri that picked us up at the Villa - very convenient if you have a baby or people who are not inclined to spend the day figuring out ferry departures, buses or other travel concerns. Everyone knows everyone on the coast, so all you have to do is ask for what you want and someone will be able to help. The flip side of this coin is that, as with many hotels, the restaurants recommended to guests were not always the best restaurants (although we had some good recommendations too) - do a little asking around on the food because it can be spectacular - but it can also be touristy mediocre depending on where you end up.

The view out of Appartamento Elena is beautiful overlooking the sea - the sound of the water against the rocks at night is very peaceful. The Villa is quiet so long as the people in the apartment above you are quiet. The Apartment is adequately appointed, but the real pleasure is in the location of the villa and the views and peacefulness. Breakfast on the gardened terrace overlooking the water each morning after a brisk swim in the Mediterranean was wonderful.

The Appartamento Elena had three bedrooms (one small single which is the only one that truly overlooks the water, and two double rooms). The terrace next to the apartments is beautiful and was not crowded when we were there. The terrace outside the apartment itself is narrow but a nice place to sit out, have a drink and a cigar and watch the sun go down.

The other guests present were professionals from Paris & London - at least one family was a repeat visitor. Nice people - family oriented.

We were delighted with the Villa and highly recommend it to others who are thinking of the area. A great refuge from the tourists who mob the other towns of Positano, Amalfi etc., well situated for day trips, nice staff and accommodations. We would be happy to discuss our experience with anyone considering the Villa. We visited during the last week of the season and found that by being slightly off season, the rates were better, guests fewer, and the overall feeling was slightly more intimate than if it had been a fully booked Villa.

October 2002 - This is a gem on the Amalfi coast. I would think there are few villas that are as charming and beautiful as this.

From gazing at the sea from your balcony to picking figs from their fig tree, the villa has much to be desired and is a perfect place for those who appreciate the history and style of Italia. It is like a gift waiting to be opened.

October 2002 - Appartamento Elena is fantastic!  Guests won't believe their luck when they find they get to wake up and see the Mediterranean right from their bedroom!  The villa itself is magical - lemon trees, fig trees, tomatoes, not to mention all the beautiful flowers.  We had to pinch ourselves often to make sure we were really in Amalfi and not heaven... or maybe the two are the same?  The service was impeccable - every need was met with no hesitation.  We could not have asked for a nicer place or better time.  Even the Italian friends we made couldn't believe how beautiful - or reasonable - the villa was.

I can't thank you enough for your outstanding service, as well, and for holding our hand through the reservation process.  We certainly hope to be back again, and also hope to send you new clients, too!

September 2002 - The Amalfi coast is absolutely stunning. Small beaches and coves surrounded by cliffs charming villages blue blue water. Appartamento Elena is located on the very edge of the cliff looking out to the sea.

You can walk to the village for groceries, it takes about 15 minutes. Or the management at the villa will have groceries delivered for you. I would suggest renting a car as we did, the road is a little scary and windy but I felt safer driving on it than walking on it.

There are about three villas on the property and a tower dating back to the 10 century. Very historical and beautifully kept, you can see and hear the tour boats beside the villa talking about it. There is an apartment above and one below, our apartment was very peaceful and private. The apartment is old but in good shape with antique furnishings. Very clean.

We were served breakfast in the garden every morning which looks out over the sea, the pool and the village, 2 kilometers away. Surrounded by citrus and fig trees the gardens and landscaping are breathtaking with old marble statues hidden around every corner. Stunning.

The kitchen was small, clean and functional. I am not sure if I would recommend the villa for families with small children, there are a lot of stairs and honeymooners.

The villa has quite a large pool with sun beds, it also has access to the sea where you can swim and snorkel.

We booked through Summer In Italy on the internet. They were very professional and most helpful. I would recommend this villa to others, and I will definitely go back there again.
