Casa Grifone A is a graceful two-story apartment in the characteristic style of the Tuscan countryside. It sleeps seven people. From Casa Grifone A you will have a pleasant view of the Tuscan countryside and of the hills. Casa Grifone A is 110 square meters (1200 square feet). It features a shared swimming pool, a private patio, a shared garden, a reserved outdoor area, winter heating and WI-FI Internet access.
You will be roughly 6 km (3.7 miles) from Camucia di Cortona, where you will find restaurants, shops and public transportation. You will find the closest restaurant and a grocery store at 3.5 km (roughly 2.2 miles). You will reach Casa Grifone A from the garden without having to climb any steps.
To stay at Casa Grifone A you will need a car. You will be able to park it on the premises, inside the entrance gate. Please note that access to Casa Grifone A is along an 800-meter (half-a-mile) unpaved road.
The Grifone apartments are 4 apartments belonging to two separated farmhouse which lies deep in the Val di Chiana, at the foot of the Etruscan city of Cortona.
The apartments, that have been nicely renovated, preserve all their original features. The renovation has not only preserved but it has even enhanced the apartments' original building features such as the floor in terracotta tiles, the stone façade and the wood ceilings.
The houses are surrounded by a large green field which is entirely fenced and shaded by trees and flowers. In this field you will find a swimming pool with Roman steps that seems to merge with the cultivated lands that surround the property.
The vast Val di Chiana, with its corn and sunflower fields, is a beautiful setting for this little corner of peace and quiet. In the backgroung of this lovely setting you will also enjoy the view of the beautiful Etruscan city of Cortona, situated on a steep hillside.
The swimming pool is 6 meters (20 feet) large by 11 meters (36 feet) long, 2 meters (6.5 feet) deep. The area is equipped with a table, chairs, sun umbrellas and deck chairs. From the swimming pool you will have a pleasant view of the Valdichiana (Chiana Valley) and of the surrounding countryside. You will share the pool with the other guests staying at the complex. The swimming pool is open from the beginning of June until the end of September.
The garden is 500 square meters (5380 square feet) large. It is equipped with a table, chairs and two gazebos. Here you will also find a portable barbecue. From the garden you will have a pleasant view of the Tuscan countryside. You will share the garden with the other guests staying at the complex.
The living room is paved with Tuscan terracotta tiles. The ceiling has characteristic exposed wood beams and terracotta tiles. The furnishings are cozy and comfortable. The furnishings include a divan that unfolds into a double bed. There is a nice fireplace made of bricks. In the living room you will find a washing machine. From the living room you will be able to enter the patio through a French door. The room has two windows. It is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
You will be able to enter the kitchen from the living room through a brickwork arched opening. It is equipped with a four-burner gas cooker, an electric oven, a refrigerator with freezer and an Italian-style coffee-maker. The dining table can accommodate six guests. The kitchen is also equipped with a flat-screen satellite television (local channels). The kitchen has two windows.
The first bathroom is equipped with a washbasin, a toilet and a shower. You will be able to enter the bathroom from the living room.
You will be able to enter the first bedroom from the corridor. The bedroom has a matrimonial bed (160 cm/62 inches, wider than a queen-size bed). An additional twin bed (80 cm/32 inches) is available (if requested in advance) to make it a triple room. The room has a window. The bedroom is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
