PalinuroPalinuro is a beautiful village in the hearth of the of the Cilento National Park. The town is located at the foot of the promontory and, alike a scenic outlook, mirrors itself in the typically Palinuro blue sea. From the sandy beaches rises the imposing Capo Palinuro, as if protects this heavenly place jealously.
On the top of Capo Palinuro there are the wather-station and the white light house. The Lambro river, which debouches near the cove of Marinella, separates the promontory from the hill of Molpa, which is the seat of an ancient village and according to the legend, the home of the mermaids; on the hill you still can see the ruins of a Medieval Castle.
At few miles from Palinuro, from the grey and pink rocks overhanging the valley of the Mingardo River, rises on ancient Medieval Village like magic: it’s San Severino di Centola. This village was left 35 years ago, when the in habitants removed to the plain. But in the Middle Age the village had a fundamental strategic significance, as testifird by the powerful castle. You will go into raptures at the beauty and mistery of that place. Our Favorite Restaurants in PalinuroDriving distances and approximate driving times
