Fantastic

August 2015 - Villino delle Arance was an oasis in an extremely busy part of Italy. Situated just off the main road into Sorrento it provided a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of the fast paced Italian life and traffic consisting of daredevil scooter riders and kamikaze car drivers!

We can honestly say that we have never stayed at a villa that was so spotlessly clean. We had fresh linen and towels every three days and the small pool was cleaned every day and had crystal clear water.

Mrs Serafina [the owner] spoke good English and was completely non-intrusive and let us get on with the holiday but was there if needed.

We would highly recommend this accommodation for anybody wishing to stay in Sorrento but don't even think about using a car. We chose to walk into town each time. It's about a 20 minute walk right into the centre and the old town. You can catch the bus but sometimes the traffic is backed up and it's quicker to walk.

June 2015 - We had a great stay at Villino delle Arance.

The caretaker was great and helped us with taxis to my daughters wedding and also to the airport when we were going home.

I can't thank Summer In Italy enough for all the help they gave me from my initial booking to directions on how to get to the Villino delle Arance. I will use you again when I next come to Italy.

Travel tips

  • There are an abundance of thing to do here but we mainly relaxed by the swimming pool.
  • Weather was terrific and the pool was just perfect.

September 2014 - Villino delle Arance allows you to throw away your worries and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the garden or relaxing beside the pool as well as swimming in it. Whilst the main road is just a short walk from the house (less than 100 meters) you initially notice the noise of traffic however within a couple of hours the noise is there but you just don't hear it.

We will return.

Travel tips

  • Ideal for exploring the locality on foot or by public transport with nearby stores for provisions, bars for drinks, etc.
  • Unless you are used to driving in Italy then do not hire a car, just walk or use public transport. Cost is inexpensive - eg train journey to Herculaneum was approximately 5 euro per person with a journey of about 40 minutes each way.

September 2014 - Excellent holiday.

Pool excellent and wonderful to relax their after a busy day. Will probably go back.

Owner very pleasant and helpful.

Travel tips

  • Moonlight Restaurant and Pizzeria Il Buon Boccone both well worth a visit.
  • Sant'Agnello is a very pleasant area with good public transport connections and much less hectic than Sorrento. Avoid bus trip BACK from Positano as bus is full when it arrives from Amalfi so not a very pleasant journey back standing on twisty road!

Villino delle Arance is lovely and quiet with great air conditioning. The setting is perfect for an active.

Travel tips

  • We found the access to the grounds of the house rather nerve-wracking as it's a very busy road with narrow pavements.

August 2014 - Villino delle Arance is like an oasis on the edge of a major tourist town.

This is the first time that we managed to combine peace and tranquility as well as not needing the car as we were so close to shops, restaurants and bars.

The best feature are the garden and private pool. It has safe and secure car parking and the owner/caretaker is very helpful and friendly. We have traveled extensively in France, Italy, Spain and Croatia and this was the first time that we had a mid-week change of linen and towels! Having a safe in the bedroom is a great idea for self catering.

Communication was prompt, payment was easy, would recommend Summer In Italy to friends.

Travel tips

  • Don't be afraid of the traffic / lack of footpaths! It seems at first glance to be chaotic but the Italian drives are very understanding to pedestrians & foreign drivers. We put a big IRL sticker on the back of the car and this helps!

Travel tips

  • Local pub, decent prices for food. Sorrento has so many restaurants you are spoilt for choice.

August 2013 - We had a wonderful week at the Villino delle Arance.

Serafina, the owner, was very helpful and friendly.

The villa itself is well equipped and tastefully decorated. It has been finished to a high standard and everything 'works'. But the villa pales into insignificance in comparison to the gardens. The swimming pool was immaculate, and there were plenty of loungers for all of us. The gardens were beautiful - full of mature fruit trees and beautiful flowers.

The villa is located equidistant from Sorrento and Sant'Agnello, so is well situated.

The only bad day was our last day - because we had to leave!

The service we received from SummerInItaly was excellent from beginning to end.

August 2013 - Villino delle Arance was absolutely a little paradise on the Amalfi coast. The grounds were immaculate, lemon trees, flowers everywhere. The villa was very clean and spacious. There were staples like olive oil, balsamic vinegar, sugar, salt... in the buffet which was very appreciated.

The kitchenette was very functional, lots of quality pots and pans, juicer, blender, utensils even a toaster. We had all our dinners on the terrace because it had a table and chairs complete with tablecloth. We were there during the heat wave, so the pool was our own oasis. The pool was larger than we expected, very clean and we loved the changing colours in the evening. The sundeck around the pool had lounge chairs and a patio table with two chairs and an umbrella.

The washing machine was great, and you can dry your clothes on the terrace on a portable dryer.

The owner, signora Serafina, was very helpful and kind. She possesses enough English to make communication easy.

The beauty of our surroundings and the privacy we had, made our stay exceptional. Grazie Signora Serafina for sharing your home and property.

We found your website when we started looking for properties in the Sorrento area. Once we had decided on the Villino delle Arance, we gave the information to our travel agent. He booked the villa on our behalf. Your description of the villa was excellent and we were impressed with all the information that accompanied the voucher.

Travel tips

  • The directions to the villa are PRECISE and the entrance to the villa is really IMMEDIATELY right after the mentioned bridge. You have just enough room for your vehicle in front of the wrought iron gates. We missed the entrance because we didn't think it would be so close, just thought you would like to know.
  • The bedding and towels are changed mid-week. I suggest that you bring your own beach towels for the pool, ours came in very handy.
  • Even though you will find everything nearby, if you are driving, consider getting a microchip of Italy for your GPS, that saved us a lot of time.

October 2012 - This was our second visit in 2 years to Villino delle Arance, we enjoyed the garden and excellent swimming pool. The accommodation is clean and well fitted out, the owners are very helpful and friendly.

Travel tips

  • You do not need a car, the local train and bus services are excellent and cheap, you can visit all the area attraction using them, although dont rely on the last bus at night back from Sorrento turning up.
  • Our favourite restaurant during both trips is Il Leone Rosso (The Red Lion): good food, very reasonably priced and friendly waiters.
  • Best day out, chair lift on Capri, expensive ferry trip to get there but well worth it.

August 2012 - We loved Villino delle Arance. We went there after a week touring Italy by train so just wanted to relax there.

It was a very clean apartment and the bathroom was lovely, with an excellent shower.

The swimming pool was bigger that we expected and we spent a lot of time in it.

The garden was very beautiful and well kept, with lovely fruit and flowers.

At the beginning of the week there was no WIFI but the owner let us use the computer in her office. She then arranged for wifi later in the week.

I was a bit concerned when we first arrived, as it is on a busy road, with no pavement. However, when you are inside the villa there is no noise and it is as if we were not in a town.

July 2012 - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villino Delle Arance.

The owner is a lovely lady and made our stay very enjoyable.

The location is a good 15 to 20 min walk from Sorrento on a very busy road, so we didn't find that ideal with our child in pushchair, however the house itself is just lovely and the pool area is gorgeous and private.

Our experience was excellent.

Travel tips

  • Not such a great place if you have a pushchair or young children as the walk into town is on a busy road with very narrow footpaths.
  • The kitchen is small and doesn't have an oven (only cooktop), but is perfectly fine for easy meals.

June 2012 - Villino delle Arance was a great find. My girlfriend and I had an amazing stay. The property is fairly large, private, and quiet with a pool and many lemon and orange trees to enjoy.

The villa is situated just outside Sorrento, but its in walking distance. We would walk into town twice a day.

The landlord was very helpful and accommodating.

All in all we would definitely return and recommend the Villa to our friends and family.

November 2011 - Lovely place to stay with fairly spacious rooms, lots of working appliances including heating, a nice area in or outside for dining and a really delightful garden complete with clementines and peppers available for the plucking. Very quiet.

Very gracious and pleasant hostess whose English, despite here protests, was actually quite serviceable. She really treated us much like a visiting friend and here son was also helpful.

I think you do a really great job. I booked with you because I wanted the experience of staying in an apartment/guest house and you had a very functional website with lots of information. Keep up the good work!

Travel tips

October 2011 - We had a very nice stay in Villino delle Arance.

The location is so peaceful and the garden so nice. We were able to pick fresh lemons, courgettes and tomatoes. The pool was lovely but the tiles needed cleaning.

The walk into Piazzo Tasso is about 15 minutes, not far and quite easy but this walk is a bit wearing after a while. Never saw the owners all week and we had perfect peace.

Keep up the good work. Pre-holiday information was very useful.

Travel tips

  • The villa is very well equipped. No need to bring anything really.
  • There is a small market back up towards Sant'Agnello, about 5-10 mins walk with all the necessities.

October 2010 - Highly recommended. Owner speaks good English. Located by main road, but peaceful. 20 min leisurely walk from town: the road is fine to walk on with a buggy.

We were a couple with one child (one year) and the child slept in the bedroom (cot provided by owner) and we slept in the main room. This worked out fine as bathroom located in a little corridor between the rooms.

The pool is necessary as the beaches in Sorrento are small and at the bottom of cliffs.

On arrival (which was very late at night) we were met by the elegant and friendly Signora Serafina who had placed some food in the fridge and even a (much needed) bottle of beer.

September 2010 - I had vacation with my friends at Villino delle Arance in September 2010. We enjoyed it so much.

The villa is very beautiful and comfortable, it has a great lemon garden and nice landscape. Only one thing we didn't like the railway near the villa and some noise because of it at night. But it was a very small problem.

Especially we would like to say a big thank to owner of the villa, signora Serafina and her son. They are very kind and hospitable people.

I have read about Summer in Italy in some response and decided to try their help with planning of our vacation. We would like to say thank you so much for your excellent and spotless job. Thanks everyone in Summer in Italy from Moscow, Russia.

Travel tips

  • We are recommend to all people who are going to Sorrento to stay at Villino delle Arance. It has a good position, not far from the center of the city, some groceries and supermarkets are near the Villino. August 2010 - It was quite enjoyable at the Villino. The owner was so helpful and kind. The garden in front of the place was beautiful, and lush. The accommodations were clean, and comfortable. The pool, although small, was a welcome respite from hot days of touring.

The location was very good for us, as we did not rent a car, instead we used buses to get around. The bus stop was close to the place. It also was a short walk to the neighboring town, Sant'Agnello.

We were very happy with your service, and efforts to accommodate some of our special requests. When I spoke to anybody at your establishment I felt assured that you would do your best to help. Grazie.

Travel tips

  • A trip to Ravello with a meal in it's Restaurant The Garden is highly recommended. The view of the sea is marvelous, and the food is the best we tasted through out our stay.
  • The community park in Sorrento, near the church of San Francesco, is quaint, and offers a view of the Bay of Naples that is grand and awesome.
  • If you go to the Archaeological Museum in Naples, check before hand if the room with the mosaics and frescoes from Pompeii is open as well as the "secret room." Both were closed when we went, and nobody knew when they would be open again.

Buses that serve the main road, Corso Italia, allow frequent trips into the center of Sorrento, and the nearest bus stop is only 50 metres from the gates to the villa.

Thank you for making everything so easy.

July 2010 - The fragrant flowers and gardens were incredible! We'll remember sitting outside on the patio and watching and hearing yet another lemon or orange drop from the trees.

The pool was so refreshing after a long, hot day of sightseeing in July!

Thank you! We had a great holiday at Villino delle Arance.

Thank you for your great customer service from start to finish! We especially appreciated your help when we arrived in Sorrento and found our cell phone didn't have a signal to allow us to call the owner of our rental. Your help got us connected with the owner and at the property within minutes! Now that's customer service! Grazie mille, and when we return to Italy we won't hesitate to use your services again.

Travel tips

  • There's a grocery store open Monday to Saturday from 8 AM till evening and Sunday from 9 till later afternoon. This market didn't close every afternoon like the supermarkets do in Sorrento. The grocery store is a short distance up this road on the left.

October 2009 - The house was well appointed and everything we expected, and had everything we needed.

Signora Serafina [the owner] was very helpful, friendly and responsive (even brought us a personal bottle of wine!), as was her son, Francesco. They both had enough English to make up for our minuscule Italian! There were a few food items in place, which helped us get settled.

Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate for us to enjoy the garden and pool fully, but that is nobody's fault!

Overall I would say plus for quiet, space, flexibility of 'your own place' for minor cooking and eating, secure parking, friendliness, helpfulness. Negative for location compared to hotels in Sorrento (most nice hotels in Sant'Agnello would be close to the sea and a bit of a walk to get to the bus lines).

The help and service Summer In Italy gave us was very responsive, prompt and accommodating. I would have no doubt about using your company again, or recommending it to others. The response, help and obvious attention to detail gave us good confidence that we were stepping into a good situation.

Travel tips

  • Like others before us, we found the walk along Corso Italia to be daunting! There is nothing that can be done about this, but we suspect that some people would find it so disturbing that it would affect their stay. While the villino is quiet and peaceful, the location is not ideal for getting to Sorrento center because of the walking conditions. Once you get to the first major intersection, Viale Nizza (about halfway to Piazza Tasso) it does improve.
  • We found it easier to walk the shorter distance the other way towards and into Sant'Agnello, for simple grocery and produce shopping. There is a small 'supermarket' along the way on the other side, the entrance is down a couple of steps. It's closer than the bigger supermarket around Nizza.
  • The buses you want to get between Sorrento proper and Sant'Agnello are the orange ones, and the specific route is Line C. There is a timetable for all the lines on the single bus stop sign at Piazza Tasso. Buy tickets at a tobacco store ("arance bus" seems to work) for E1.10 each (I believe they cost more on the bus itself), but note that when you validate it in the machine on the bus it is still good for other use for one hour, so you can make transfers. There seem to be other tickets for two people traveling together? We had a little trouble getting the bus to stop where we wanted to get off, using the bell push, and the driver took us all the way to the Sant'Agnello main square before stopping.
  • We took a taxi once from Piazza Tasso to the villino when it was getting late and uncertain: E15 plus tip for the short ride!
  • We ate at...:
  • -- A 'pub' on the left side going into Sant'Agnello, the closest place. Good pizza one time, hamburger (for a change!) another, cheap, friendly, a little young and loud but okay early on.
  • -- Miccio (a trattoria?) on Via Degli Aranci. Pleasant, good food felt 'local'.
  • -- Da Filippo's on Via Cesarano. Very good, but you need a car to get there, however there is a dedicated parking lot.
  • -- Moonlight, left at the first or second intersection into Sant'Agnello, follow the signs, about a quarter mile towards the sea. Lunch was good (too much food), dinner would have been nice.
  • -- Ciao Toto, again left at first intersection into Sant'Agnello. Not exciting, felt a bit rushed.
  • -- Hotel Corallo, in Sant'Agnello, again left at the first intersection, a little walk to the sea. At first we thought it was the restaurant just across the side street, but we walked out of there into the hotel. We had wanted the view and the food, but it was dark and we saw nothing. We were the only people in the huge hotel restaurant (October, and the tour bus crowd was out somewhere else). Expensive and awkward, but the food was very good and worth it. Perhaps lunch would have been a better idea there.

August 2009 - We had a great time at Villino delle Arance. We were surprised by how much space and privacy you have here - your own pool with sun loungers, deck chairs, outdoor dining table etc, set amongst fruit trees and a well-tended lawn with flowers.

It's all air conditioned and there are nice touches like books to read, a stereo and TV, even a barbeque. In addition, the owner was very helpful, polite and friendly.

The entrance is on a main road, but it is set well back from the road and security is tight with electric gates. The road takes you to Sorrento's main square (15 minutes walk) in one direction, or Sant Agnello (10 minutes walk) in the other. It's a bit scary walking alongside the traffic but you get used to it.

May 2009 - Everything about our stay at Villino delle Arance was outstanding.

Though near a busy road, we could not hear it from the house. The pool, grounds and location were convenient for all our trips to the various sights within the area.

Sara, the owner, was a lovely lady, who did all she could to help us. She even took us to the station when we went home and stayed up until 12:15 am to welcome us! When we arrived, she had even brought us bread and milk, as well as other items of food such as jam etc.

We did not have a car, though this was not a problem, as the train service is nearby and frequent.

Thank you for a very good service. We hope to use you again some time!

Travel tips

  • The best supermarket is located on the main road towards Sorrento (10 mins away by foot.) We managed to get all our food on our way back to the villa on a couple of occasions.
  • If you manage to find the tourist information centre, there is a lovely, cheap and quiet restaurant on the sea front, that serves reasonably sized meals all day.
  • When buying a train ticket, bear in mind that you are charged by the time of your journey, not where you go. You need to put your ticket into a machine before getting on the train to stamp the time. Do this just before the train arrives!
  • If booking a flight I would suggest trying to get to Sorrento early, as taxi transfers from Naples are EUR 85 and public transport does not operate 24/7.
  • If the weather is hot, then go out early and rest in the afternoon! The trains are not busy first thing in the morning.
  • Capri is great and you can get a hydrofoil from the port in Sorrento. The walks are fantastic!

When we were in the Rome airport on our way home, my wife asked my son if he wanted to go home. His response was "No, go back to the 'nilla" (how he referred to the villa). Which is how we all feel. We'll be going back someday - hopefully soon.

Travel tips

October 2008 - We did enjoy staying at Villino delle Arance - the apartment is clean and well maintained and the lady running the place was very friendly. It is not a high specification but served our needs well.

The location is on a busy road, but I can understand that it is not easy to find a self catering apartment so close to the city Centre.

Overall, a good apartment and we had a good time. One note, was that we found the bed to be quite hard and a little uncomfortable.

Summer in Italy were very good and we have no complaints.

August 2008 - What a beautiful little villa this is! We had a wonderful two weeks here and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

The villa itself is modern and well constructed. There was plenty of space for the two of us and it was very well equipped.

Particularly appreciated were the powerful hairdryer in the bathroom, the iron and ironing board and the plentiful supply of English books in the living-room!

The real joy though was the outdoor area. The garden is beautifully set out and was full of flowers when we visited. The pool was great to use during the hot weather and was bigger somehow than we had expected!

There was very little noise from the road and none at all when you were inside. Any lack of panoramic view was made up for by the beautiful garden.

Your website is so much better than most of the others featuring villas in Italy and your prices are very reasonable. Once I booked you were always ready to help out with advice and answer any questions we had. We used the contacts on your website to arrange a taxi transfer from the airport and received excellent service from the polite and helpful Claudio. All in all I would be happy to recommend your company to anyone and hope to use you again in the future.

Travel tips

  • We had some wonderful meals at a restaurant called Il Leone Rosso (also known as The Red Lion) Don’t be put off by the name – no bacon and eggs at this place! Full of locals and very reasonable. Via Marziale, 25 – Sorrento.

July 2008 - We all had a really great time at the villa.

The house itself was wonderful with personal touches that made it feel like a real home. The pool was excellent and everything was well maintained by the friendly but unobtrusive owner and son.

The location was on the edge of Sorrento itself which was fine, however we spent more time in Sant'Agnello, this small town was lovely to shop in for food with many small italian stores and a regular market each week.

Our two weeks were great and we would recommend the villa to anyone who seeks a restful holiday within travel distance of spectacular sights.

Very impressed with the service and we will be using it again.

Travel tips

  • If arriving late on Saturday night - come prepared that most shops do not open on Sunday morning.
  • We arrived late when it was dark and were not sure whether to turn left or right when leaving the villa. Right for Sorrento! Left is the lovely small town of Sant'Agnello where we did most of our food shopping. Sant'Agnello has a great little supermarket as well as numerous little veg shops.
  • Pompeii was well worth a visit but buggy holders beware... also bring plenty of water (maybe a small picnic) and do not expect to see everything in the one day (especially if you have children).

May 2008 - We really enjoyed our stay at the Villino delle Arance. It was much as we had expected from the description. We were given a warm welcome in spite of arriving very much later than anticipated.

The property was amazingly quiet because outside the gates there was heavy traffic all day long and the walk along the main road into Sorrento or Sant'Agnello was a bit unpleasant but quicker than the quiet back streets.

Inside the house was tastefully furnished and clean. We had to deal with a problem of small flies on the first evening but no problem after that. I guess we have become used to finding a basic stock of provisions in fridge and cupboards so that was a bit disappointing, more so because we arrived late. Maybe we have just fallen lucky on this in recent self-catering bookings. Made up for by the super hi-tech shower in the bathroom.

Altogether, we found it a lovely situation though recognise that it may not suit everyone.

I used your web-site a lot before booking and going on holiday and found it very useful and helpful. I think we had good accurate advice which is what we want. Good information supplied and reviews - we knew the road outside was going to be busy and that there would be no view so that was not a problem which it could have been had we not known this.

Travel tips

  • 20-30 minutes walk into Sorrento is on a busy road. There is a back street way but we choose to take the main road, always busy with traffic and pavements no existent in parts!
  • Train station at Sant'Agnello is 10 minutes walk in other direction. This will take you to Sorrento or Naples, Pompeii and Ercolano.
  • We enjoyed eating out at La Pizza del Poeta, on the Corso Italia on the road into Sorrento.

October 2007 - Villino delle Arance is a very modern little building and the quality of construction and decor are outstanding.

The location is convenient (i.e. within walking distance) of everything we needed, though the immediate surroundings (beyond the garden it stands in) are not very attractive.

The owner, Signora Serafina, was very kind in transporting us to and from the station on our arrival and departure.

We enjoyed our stay there very much and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

September 2007 - We were simply over the moon!

All in all we are SO pleased, and we are just counting the days and checking our diaries for when we will be able to squeeze in another trip to Italy.

Travel tips

  • I see from earlier ratings that people are afraid of the traffic on Corso Italia: Don't worry! Contrary to the common belief I find the Italians very considerate in traffic. They might drive like crazy - not respecting speed limits - but the minute a child or another pedestrian steps off the pavement, they come to a near full stop and wait patiently. I both drove a car and walked and I was awed by the consideration shown me by Italian drivers.

We really enjoyed our stay.

Travel tips

  • When walking into Sorrento take the back road as the the main road into Sorrento is very busy and dangerous and the path is poor in some places.

July 2007 - We spent a lovely time at Villino delle Arance.

Our two boys liked the swimming pool- we liked the beautiful garden with the lemon trees.

I think, it´s really one of the best places of Sorrento to make holiday and to reach many sights in the whole area.

We went by train to Sorrento and the owner picked us up at the train station.

Serafina and Francesco are the friendliest owners we have ever seen. Thank you!!

Travel tips

  • If you want to go hiking - the Sentiero degli Dei (from Agerola to Positano)is a beautiful way. There is a bus, which goes from Sant'Agnello to Agerola at 6.20.
  • The pubic vehicles go punctually and they are okay. We went by train (Circumvesuviana) to Vesuvio, to Pompeii, and to Naples, by bus to Agerola and to the lovely beach of Marina del Cantone, by ferry to Capri and by Metro del Mare to Amalfi and Positano. You see, a car is not necessary: it would only be troublesome because of the horrible traffic.

July 2007 - We are a family with two children of the age of 3 and 6 years that spent a marvellous vacation on this spot.

The combination of the pool, the garden, the retreat from the busy street outside and the friendly hosts made this a highly recommendable place to stay.

In addition to all this it was close to all sites of our interest, Pompeii, Capri, The Amalfi cost and the city of Sorrento. If that was not enough the rent is very reasonable - this place give value for money.

In short we would be glad to return someday

Travel tips

  • Do not bring a large car. The alleys are narrow!
  • Corso Italia has a very narrow pavement - and some places none at all - which is a challenge with a stroller and small children. However this can be solved by a keen eye and a firm hand from an adult.

June 2007 - We have just got back from a week staying at Villino delle Arance. We had a lovely time. The Villa was very clean and tidy as well as being very well equipped.

For three adults there was ample storage and hanging space.

The swimming pool was lovely to relax around and in, whilst the lemon trees made the Villa really very pretty.

The owners made us very welcome and could speak excellent English - which we were very grateful for as our Italian is very poor!

People have commented about the road that passes the front of the main house. It is a very busy road but we did not feel it made the Villa less appealing. From inside the Villa you could not really hear the road and even sat next to the pool you would listen to the birds singing more than the cars and mopeds going passed. Our only note of caution would be that walking to and from Sorrento can be a bit hairy – We wouldn't have wanted to walk with young children along this road and pushing a push chair would be a bit of a nightmare!

For adults that want a small self-catered villa a short walk outside the centre of Sorrento we would highly recommend this Villa.

Thank you – You were very quick to answer any questions we had about Sorrento and the Villa. We had a lovely holiday and felt very well looked after by ‘Summer in Italy’.

The description of the Villa was very honest and accurate.

We will be recommending ‘Summer in Italy’ to our friends and family.

The apartment works well, and is nicely furnished.

Sarah (the owner) is knowledgeable, very helpful and pleasant, and lives on on the other side of the garden, which is very useful if and when help is needed.

Sorrento is an excellent base for visits in the whole area (Amalfi, Pompei, Naples), we had a wonderful time, and Villino delle Arance was a big reason!

You were excellent! Your descriptions of the properties were very complete, fair, and useful.

What made us decide to book with you, however, was that when I expressed concern by e-mail about the number of steps in the various Amalfi Coast apartments, one of your staff wrote back suggesting the Villino delle Arance AND at a very nice discount: this personal help supporting the internet site was crucial in making a decision. October 2006 - We have just spent a marvellous 2 weeks from 7 - 21 October 2006 in Villino delle Arance, Sorrento. The accommodation was delightful, even better than the photographs on the webpage.

The garden was very restful & relaxing and looked lovely lined with orange & lemon trees which were just ripening this time of year. We were very lucky with the weather, not one rainy day and temperatures low to mid twenties. The swimming pool was much used by us, it was very pleasant to dive in after a hot day sightseeing!

Even though the villino is off a busy street, and I had some concerns about traffic & noise before going, it was not a problem for us. We walked to the centre of Sorrento every day (about 15 minutes walk); the footpath isn't great for some of it - it is a matter of being careful. There is a quieter route to the centre, by turning first right after Hotel Girasole.

We were a few minutes walk from the train station in Sant'Agnello which was great for travel to Pompei, Herculaneum and Naples.

The villa owners were very helpful and not a bit intrusive. They kindly collected and dropped us to the bus for Naples airport.

We found Summer In Italy a pleasure to deal with and very assiduous in dealing with our queries etc. I would certainly use them again.

We would love to go back to Sorrento and without hesitation would stay in Villino delle Arance again!

September 2006 - A wonderful place to stay! Totally enjoyed our stay there.

An excellent little apartment, perfect for 2 adults and a 2 yr old, although we did have to watch him around the pool area.

Great location, about 15 mins walk from main square. Though situated on a very busy main road, once in the apt you could never hear the traffic (the odd Metro though, but never a problem).

The apartment was beautifully decorated, obviously new, and despite a small kitchen area was very well stocked with utensils, and also some food, so we didn't have to buy all the basics!

Signora Serafina [the owner] was a great help to us, from meeting us at the harbour on our arrival, and driving us to the apartment, to offering us a lift to the bus stop on our departure. We knew we could rely on her if we had any problems.

Excellent service, can't think of any problems. Pictures and description of property totally accurate.

May 2006 - The house was almost exactly what we needed for a 2 week holiday with a 2 year old kid.

The simple but stylish indoor facilities and the beautiful garden full of oranges and lemons suited us well.

The pool was prepared for summer while we were there. It's good for cooling down, not too deep (approx 140 cm), but, like any pool, a potential danger to little toddlers. No problem though if you keep an eye on the small one when (s)he is in the pool area.

The owners were really nice. Always ready when we had something to ask for. They also offered to pick us up when we arrived in Sorrento.

The only drawback was the traffic on the main road and the narrow pavements. This made the walk to the center of Sorrento a trial with a baby carriage. Actually we found it more convenient to walk to the nearby center of Sant'Agnello in the opposite direction. There also were more shops to buy different kinds of food, and it was a shorter walk to the train station there than to the one in Sorrento. A couple of hundred meters away, on the Sant'Agnello square, there was a bus stop for the SITA buses to the Amalfi coast. Tickets to be bought in the shop across the road. This bus stop is not the stop for the airport bus, even though the ticket seller told us so. (The real stop for the airport shuttle is at the square in front of St Agnello train station, or Piazza Tasso in Sorrento).

We also found a nice beach in Sant'Agnello (even though we thought 6 euro for a sun bed was a bit expensive), turning left at the first major crossroad when walking into Sant'Agnello and just walk straight on towards the sea.

May 2005 - Our Holiday at Villino delle Arance, Sorrento

Even though the ten hour journey had been more or less uneventful, Margaret and I were still thankful when the train eventually arrived at Sorrento. The information given to us by ‘Summer in Italy’ suggested we should take a taxi from there to the villa and we were really happy to see a number of cabs waiting outside the station. The short journey through the busy streets of Sorrento lasted but a few minutes and gave us little opportunity to speak our driver. However, as the taxi entered the property through automatic gates, I remember the driver tapped the top of the steering-wheel and exclaimed “Wow!”

We had arrived at the beautiful Villino delle Arance.

For the duration of our short vacation we found the house and gardens to be perfect in all respects. The charming owners live at the property and although they were not in the least intrusive, they were always on hand to answer our queries. These factors combined with the glorious May weather and together they made our stay in Sorrento a truly memorable occasion.

We would highly recommend both the ‘Villino de Arance’ and ‘Summer in Italy’ to any future travellers.
