Exactly what a Tuscan villa should be

May 2016 - A lovely mountain villa on beautiful grounds. It has been restored with all high end finishes and looks and feels exactly like a Tuscan villa should.

The pool and outdoor seating would have been fun but the weather the week we were there didn't cooperate - cold and rainy. Since this home is on a mountain the air temperature was often much lower than the towns below.

Mr. Rosado [the caretaker] was very attentive and even brought us a breakfast treat one morning.

The town of Monterchi had everything we needed - grocery store, restaurants, etc. The location was perfect for our group of 6 adults to visit many Tuscan and Umbrian towns. We had a fabulous week!

Summer In Italy were very professional and had good communication. We would rent through this company again. Thank you!

Travel tips

  • Make sure you rent an SUV or a car that sits high as the road up to the villa is long, steep and very rough. If driving stick shift is at all difficult for you I'd recommend getting an automatic car.
  • The supermarket on the road from the villa to Monterchi had everything we needed to stock the villa's kitchen and the owners were so friendly.
  • Make sure you see the Madonna del Parto in the town. We visited Arezzo and San Sepolcro to see more of Piero della Francesca's art.

Unfortunately, Villa Va Pensiero can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
