September 2010 - We were all so pleasantly surprised when we reached the villa. It is beautiful and perfect for 4 couples.

We rented a van and found it easy to get to places using our GPS.

The owner was so accommodating and helpful.

We would definitely recommend Villa Tosca.

July 2010 - It was a great time at Villa Tosca and in Italy.

Nice place, a swimming pool a great idea for our children, nice house and pleasant host.

Travel tips

June 2010 - It was a lovely home, beautifully built. Plenty of bathrooms.

The owner was very pleasant and helpful.

I would definitely book with Summer in Italy again. Prices were fair and a great value. I was very pleased.

Travel tips

  • The villa is in a very small village with narrow streets, it was difficult for 2 cars to pass.
  • The people are very nice. You can buy just about anything you need in Badia Agnano.
  • There is a great winery nearby -- about 2 km, called La Pieve. Good wine and olive oil.

August 2009 - The facilities were excellent and the level of accommodation above the average. Cleanliness was so high that you can't believe the property was renovated 6 years ago.

Close enough to visit major tourist attractions but with enough facilities to provide a relaxing chill-out holiday by a pool.

We would strongly recommend this accommodation.

July 2009 - We loved our stay at Villa Tosca, both of our families.

Fabio [the caretaker] was so nice and helpful and always with a smile.

Great Villa we really loved it . We were a total 4 adults and 6 children.

Travel tips

  • The motorways are the best way to get around if you are travelling over 100 km. The back roads are good if you are travelling only short distances.
  • Siena is a great town and so is Arezzo.
  • Civitella, 15 minutes away at the top of the hill, is a must, too.

September 2008 - Villa was more than we hoped for.

We were 4 couples touring together and our week at the Villa Tosca was a highlight of our trip to Italy. Only wished we had spent a little less time running around Tuscany on day trips and spent a little more time relaxing at the villa.

Only criticism was that the kitchen cooking area and counter space was a little cramped for 8 people. Eating area was huge though.

Everything we needed was short distance away in shops in Badia Agnano.

I would recommend this facility to anyone.

Travel tips

  • Visit Civitella, a hill town short distance from villa - an unadvertised gem.
  • You may need to buy extra toilet paper if you are a large group.
  • An Internet point nearby in Badia Agnano was very handy.

April 2008 - The villa is really well appointed, spacious and exceptionally clean.

We were too early in the season for the pool so I can't comment on that; and the big villa which I think is a number of apartments was empty so we were the only ones there [yes, the other nearby building is divided into the other apartments of the estate]. It was lovely! The only shock was the gas & electricity bill which was most of my 200 Euros (in April) for 1 week! Fabio [the caretaker] was very friendly and helpful.

I have been on holiday with Summer in Italy before, I like your website and find you very helpful. Thanks

One word of advice for guests travelling in the cold season: heating is indeed quite expensive, particularly for large villas. This does not apply to only to Villa Tosca, but to any villa or apartment that is heated by gas or oil. If you have doubts, please do take advantage of our customer service and ask for an estimate of the costs!

Travel tips

  • The people at the local mini market (walking distance) were very friendly.
  • The Ipercoop supermarket is a fair few miles away, massive and heaving on a Saturday afternoon. Maybe get a few supplies to last until Monday then do a big shop if you need it.
  • Be careful in Siena we got a huge parking fine and still don't know what we did wrong!

September 2007 - We had a wonderful time at the villa. It's location allowed us to day-trip to most of the sites we wanted to visit.

The villa itself was very roomy and comfortable. We had as many as seven people there for a few days, and there was plenty of room.

Fabio, the caretaker, was very helpful and friendly in spite of our limited Italian and his limited English.

All in all, a first rate experience. We would recommend it to anyone seeking the Tuscany experience.

We were very pleased with your service. The villa was exactly as advertised, and met our needs nearly perfectly. We have friends who are interested in a similar trip, and we have already recommended Summer in Italy to them.

Travel tips

  • Badia Agnano, although small, can meet most of your shopping needs. There is a pharmacy, fruit and produce shop two small grocery stores and a butcher. Also a magazine and tobacco shop, a coffee shop, and a post office.
  • Bring your phrase book and Italian/English dictionary. Most folks in the small villages have little or no English. They are very friendly, however, and eager to help.

June 2007 - Villa Tosca is not in the middle of the countryside which has its advantages and disadvantages, for us though it was perfect: 4 adults and 4 children under 5 walking distance to the village for daily groceries - fresh bread/milk and gelato trips.

Playground in the village and swimming pool at the house and plenty of space for the kids. What more could you ask for on a family holiday except an hour's peace and quiet to catch up on your book. :-)

Travel tips

  • Civitella is a beautiful hill-town with a couple of very nice restaurants.
  • If visiting Florence get the train from Bucine rather than driving.
  • The Prada outlet in Montevarchi is not signposted and hard to find and if you are a guy definitely not worth being dragged to unless you are into designer gear.

June 2006 - There are not words to describe how incredible our stay at Villa Tosca was.

The boys (9 and 13) loved picking cherries, catching fire flies, building fires in the wonderful 3 bar-B-Q pits, swimming, and playing ping pong poolside.

The location was outstanding all sites were close (Siena, Florence, Assisi, Civitella), my favorite of all was Badia Agnano, the town at the end of the driveway!

The people (caretaker Fabio, daughter Paola, and the grocer Alessandro especially!) were amazing & so friendly.

We were a family of three generations, and we all fell in love with the place.

You were great! Always answered all our questions correctly and promptly.

If I could have magically planned the perfect vacation, I couldn't have imagined a more perfect place and people. I dream every night of returning. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven.

June 2006 - Most enjoyable stay, extremely pleasant caretaker, who really wanted to help in any way.

House was clean with very few ants! Good hot water system -- never any problems having showers!

Kitchen equipped OK, could do with a few more cups or mugs.

Excellent local butcher with lots of local produce and most things that you need when you first arrive -- from bread and butter to dishwasher tablets.

Beautifully clean pool of excellent size, with plenty of good seating and shade around it -- it was May and property not full.

October 2005 - Villa Tosca is a beautiful property. It far exceeded our expectations.

The view and the accomodations were stunning. The location is an easy ride to most all locations in Tuscany.

The people in the town were very welcoming and appreciated our attempts to communicate in Italian. Everything you need is within walking distance of the villa. The local macelleria was the best!

If this is representative of your properties, I will recommend you to everyone I know! Thanks for making it so easy for us.

August 2005 - Villa Tosca was the perfect home base for me and my family. The villa was beautiful!

Fabio [the caretaker] was so helpful.

It was just like the photos on the web site. Wide open views, fantastic pool with a view of the sunflower fields, and most of all, a wonderful home enviornment.

We can not wait to be able to plan another trip and stay there again!

We have used your services in the past and found this time to be just as wonderful! All of the help in finding just the right location was so great. The property was super and we can not wait to plan another trip. We will definately contact you in the future. You made our planning process effortless. Thanks for everything!

Unfortunately, Villa Tosca can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
