Very good

July 2015 - Overall Villa Ritanna C is very good. We especially enjoyed the large terrace and beautiful view.

The nearby beach is beautiful and much quieter than the main beach at Marina del Cantone.

Fantastic

May 2012 - As a family of 6 our stay at Villa Ritanna C was comfortable and suited us all. The villa is well equipped and the views are outstanding.

The welcome from the owner/property manager was lovely and he very kindly showed us to the nearby village.

The kitchen is small but suited our needs as it has most things you would think you'd need. The only thing it didn't have was a kettle but that was fine as we just used a pan to heat water.

The terrace is wonderful, it has the most amazing views.

The apartment is so close to the village and beaches, you can leave your car and walk.

And finally, after the hustle and bustle of Sorrento it was lovely to return to the apartment each night and just sit outside listening to the waves crashing. It's so peaceful!

Your booking service was very smooth and easy to understand. And taking a deposit, then requesting the balance was helpful (saving us having to pay it all upfront).

Travel tips

  • Although there is a bus that stops in the village nearby, a car is essential for getting around the Sorrentine peninsula. The apartment is approximately 30 minutes drive from Sorrento (depending on the route you take).
  • We found that the drive through Massa Lubrense was just lovely, you got great views of Capri and the coastline.
  • The shops in the village are very small and we found that they were a little more expensive than a supermarket, so stock up in Sorrento before you arrive.
  • If you do park in the village, we found that the pay and display car park was cheaper than the manned one at the back of the shops.
  • There is a small beach close to the apartment (go out of the parking area and turn right, there's an opening about 10-20 meters on your left) with sun beds to rent and a small bar, but be prepared to walk down/up a lot of steps!
  • The ice cream shop in the village sells the most delicious ice cream.
  • Our favourite restaurant in Sorrento was Bar Ciao on Viale Nizza. Excellent service, lovely fresh tasting food and they made a fuss of our 5 year old.
  • The best supermarket we found in Sorrento was on the corner of Via degli Aranci and Via San Renato. There is a parking garage to the rear of the supermarket (on Via San Renato) and we also found that this was the cheapest place to park all day (and you also get money off your parking if you buy groceries and show your ticket).

Very good

May 2012 - Villa Ritanna C was spacious and well presented. We enjoyed our time there very much.

The service provided by Summer in Italy was excellent. Thank you very much.

Travel tips

  • You don't need a car at Villa Ritanna C. You can walk down to the shops and restaurants at Marina di Cantone, lower Nerano. Everything you need is there.

Fantastic

April 2012 - We really enjoyed Villa Ritanna C. The location was fantastic and the view was amazing!

The property managers were extremely helpful and made us feel at home.

We would definitely stay here again.

Your customer service is fantastic! We have been very impressed.

Travel tips

  • Take the boat that leaves from the nearby fishing village to do a tour of Capri and/or Amalfi coast - well worth it!
  • The restaurants and the nearby village were all good quality for their price.
  • Go for a walk/run around the peninsular (behind the restaurants) for a great view.

Excellent

October 2011 - Overall we enjoyed Villa Ritanna C very much. The kitchen was very small but manageable. The terrace was great as the weather was unbelievably wonderful.

Windows and doors all worked very well. Some of the louvers (blinds) on some of the windows need attention.

Clothes hanger on terrace was very useful.

Beautiful sunrise! Gorgeous view.

The description and photos of the villa online proved to be very accurate. I would book through Summer in Italy again.

Travel tips

  • Take the boat cruises offered in Marina Del Cantone.
  • Good restaurants and great beach in Marina del Cantone.

Summer In Italy: keep on doing what you are.

Travel tips

  • The beach: have never seen such clear blue water anywhere else. In fact there are 2 small beaches, one where snack bar La Perla stands and another adjacent, connected by a narrow pass by the wall. The latter is more spacious and convenient for swim. Good option especially when the former is crowded. One thing I don't know is whether umbrellas and sunbeds are available there. Swimming slippers recommended - walking barefoot might be painful for rather large pebbles (but that's what keeps water clear).
  • La Perla offers only very simple stuff, for something more sophisticated go to Marina Cantone - there's a plenty of good seaside restaurants.
  • Halfway to Marina del Cantone (3-5 min walk) on the left side, in the premises of a camping site there is a store with basic food and household goods. So no need to go all way up to Nerano for something simple.
  • Transportation: rent as small a car as you can. It's rather about parking than driving - parking lots are narrow and sometimes tilted. As for driving - take care: roads are good, but narrow and winding, too many local cars have traces of side collisions.
  • Going by car to Positano, don't hurry to park at roadside uphill, like many visitors do. Instead go all way down to town center and use the spacious "Central Parking". It won't cost much and definitely worth it.
  • Private boat transfers are astonishingly expensive. 150 eur for 15-min ride to Capri and back - if hired at Marina del Cantone, somewhat less at "La Perla". Good option is to buy a seat in a larger boat at the campsite (see above) reception. Capri, around and back with enough free time in between will cost only 30 eur - if You don't mind sharing the deck with 100 other passengers. They also arrange sea trips to Amalfi and Positano. Check beforehand for departures and bookings.
  • Train Naples-Sorrento is jammed and slow. Maybe there are better trains, but that needs further investigation.
  • Driving in Naples has been an experience which I won't recommended even to bitter enemies (myself living in Moscow with acute traffic problems).
  • All in all a beautiful and very romantic place. Good for someone like myself who was quite happy to celebrate 25th wedding anniversary there. Amalfi, Positano and the road there with wonderful views of coastline - must see, a 1-day trip for both. Between 2 towns there is a small community Furore with especially beautiful fjord - an excellent place to stop for lunch.

Unfortunately, Villa Ritanna C can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
