Very good

June 2012 - We liked the villa very much! Comfortable, clean, quiet place with excellent garden and swimming pool. We enjoyed it!

You are the best! We necessarily will use your site next time! Best wishes! Grazie mille!

Travel tips

  • A wonderful, cozy, quiet villa with a nice green yard and a wonderful Jacuzzi pool.
  • The kitchen is equipped with everything you need, the only thing missing dishwasher.
  • The car is parked in front of the gate.
  • Beach small and rocky, at 100-200 meters, but not crowded and very cozy. A little further on there is a large well equipped beach.
  • Several restaurants in the center of the village and a small shop with basic goods things.
  • Rented a boat for the day with a captain, sailed to Capri and Amalfi.

October 2011 - We enjoyed our stay in the villa very much. The whole development was very nice and our apartment in particular was very clean and well equipped.

The management company were very helpful and took care of all our needs whilst we were in Italy.

For the money we thought it was exceptionally good value and would recommend it to others

Overall we were very pleased with the service we received and wold definitely use your company again / recommend you to others.

Excellent

September 2008 - Overall we enjoyed our stay in Villa Ritanna B. It is a very nice location, the property is very spacious (especially for us as we were just 2).

Great little plunge pool, very close to the nearby beach which is quite secluded.

Summer in Italy were very helpful, communicative and would definitely consider using them again to book properties.

Travel tips

  • A car is essential as the nearest shop is several km uphill in Nerano... and even this is quite basic. A proper mini market is in Sant'Agata which is a 20 minute drive.
  • Nice selection of restaurants in Marina del Cantone from cheap to expensive with some great seafood and pizza... and you can walk there in 5-7 minutes.
  • Bring everything from salt and pepper to washing up liquid and laundry powder... and mosquito repellent.

Excellent

July 2008 - We had a wonderful time at Villa Ritanna B!

Our children LOVED the private pool. It was tiny, but perfect for a week-long stay. They loved going down to the beach and being able to swim in the beautiful water, and we had plenty of room for all of us (2 adults and 5 children).

We hardly ever had to use the car because we could walk to so many places - even though the location is really just a small fishing village. Still, the local restaurants were excellent and fun, we could take various trips right from the downtown area to Positano, Amalfi, Capri and even snorkeling, and there was a local bus (SITA) that took us into Sorrento. Thus, even while remote, it is actually quite convenient.

The property manager, Piero, was EXCELLENT! He was so helpful and kind. Here are some of the things he did that made our stay so pleasant:

1. He came out to the road and met us and led us to the property when we got lost. Then he cleared the traffic away so that we could squeeze our huge van down the narrow road into the tiny parking space. [urgh! you were brave to negotiate the small roads of the area with a big van - we recommend a small car to future guests!]

2. He walked us to the beach and explained the access to all of us.

3. He walked my husband (who speaks no Italian) down to the village and explained the layout, etc.

4. Advised us to take a city bus to Sorrento as a big cost saver (from having to park our huge car there) and showed us where to buy tickets, etc.

5. When asked for his advice, he recommended a wonderful boat trip to Capri - the best I have ever had!

6. Encouraged us to always, always ask for a "family discount" or a discount for our children, since 3 of them are still quite small. That always worked! It was a huge cost-saver for us!

7. Told us exactly where (in Sorrento) to find an office that serviced our specific phone, and also explained each bancomat location.

8. He was always available by telephone and was very kind to all of us. My husband was so pleased that Piero could explain everything in English (although I speak Italian, my husband does not). And Piero was especially nice to our children, which made them feel very welcome!

Overall, the property is very pretty and convenient and fun, but having Piero there to help us made the week exceptional!

We spent almost 7 weeks in Italy and stayed in a variety of villa rentals, monasteries and tourist villages, and we enjoyed yours the most because we felt we had a family member there helping us!

Travel tips

  • Get some type of shoe that you can wear while swimming. I know that many American companies make them. The beach is all rocks and it's tough to get in and out of the water without swim shoes. We didn't bring any because of space reasons, but I would take some next time.
  • Rent a paddle boat and go out and swim. If you wear goggles, you feel as if you are snorkeling - the water is so clear and the location is lovely.
  • Buy your groceries up at Sant'Agata dei Due Golfi. We so much wished we had done this because it was very hard for us to get our huge van back out of the Villa. In fact, even if you have a small car, the roads are windy and twisty and steep and filled with traffic and it would have been MUCH better if we had brought some fruit, cheeses and meats before we came down to the villa. You can buy bread in the village or even at the nearby campsite, but other foods are harder to find.
  • Be aware that, as advertised on the web site, there is no view, so don't expect to be looking out at the water. For us, having the pool and all the outdoor space for dining and playing made up for this.
  • Eat at the wonderful, tiny restaurant on the beach for lunch - Restaurant La Perla. It's the one down the steps to the narrow little beach across the street (not the one down the hill in the fishing village). We had one of our best meals there! Very simple, but the children loved it and the seafood was very fresh. Also - the bar attached to the restaurant makes various cakes (usually only one a day) and they are very, very good. We wished we had bought some every day but we didn't have much cash.
  • Bring plenty of cash! No bancomat within walking distance - you have to get cash up at Sant'Agata. Very annoying for us because the exchange rate was so bad for Americans. We could hardly withdraw any money, and most places we wanted to go (boat trips, La Perla, ice cream shop) only took cash.

Unfortunately, Villa Ritanna B can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
