September 2012 - The house was beautiful. There are 76 steps to climb to get to the street, 5 of us are in our late 70's and found it very difficult to climb the stairs at least twice day.

July 2012 - We enjoyed our stay very much. The villa was great.

The owners was very helpful, first day they gave us a lift to the store, they were very nice.

Summer in Italy has been great. Good service, very helpful! I have already recommended you to my friends and I will contact you next time we will go to Italy.

Travel tips

  • We can really recommend this villa. The small village of Massa Lubrense and the Marina were so nice.
  • You must visit Angelo's bar in the Marina, the whole family was nice and so helpful.
  • We also went to Capri from the Marina, a great trip!
  • We shopped almost all our food in the Marina, the little store just beside Angelo's was great.
  • You don't need a car. If you want to go to Sorrento or Positano you can just take the bus from Massa Lubrense.

March 2010 - We had a wonderful time at Villa Malvarosa! The location was awesome and you cannot say enough about the view off the roof top deck.

We had 4 married couples and each having thier own room and sharing the three bathrooms was extremely easy and private.

We cannot wait to plan our next trip to the Amalfi Coast and stay at the Villa Malvarosa again.

Excellent job and great communication. We will definitely use your website again.

March 2010 - We loved it! The view from most rooms was phenomenal and that is what made our stay there so wonderful.

We also found the owner, Mrs. Margherita, and caretakers, Luigi and Assunta, to be very helpful. They attempted to help in anyway possible.

Summer in Italy did a fabulous job of responding to all my emails. You provided me with accurate information. I would use Summer in Italy again!

Travel tips

  • I would probably make future guests aware of the number of stairs needed to access the house from and to the road/parking lot. While we had no problem with the number of steps, this could be a drawback to some people.
  • Parking is very tight for 3 cars and really only accommodates 2 cars.

May 2009 - We had the most wonderful time at the Villa Malvarosa. It was very hard to leave.

There was loads of room for the 8 of us and the garden and outdoor space was just lovely. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the living room was huge.

We spent most of our time outside in the garden and on the patio's. The Table Tennis was a big hit with the lads.

The view of the sea and the surrounding landscape was beautiful. The scent of the flowers in the evening was to die for. You could not do anything but enjoy a stay at the Villa.

The owners of the Villa are lovely people. They helped us with our bags when we were leaving. You cannot improve on perfection.

I would just like to thank Summer in Italy. Everything went really smoothly. No problems whatsoever. Keep up the good work.

Travel tips

  • If you take a right from the villa it is a short walk to Marina della Lobra. The quickest way to get there is to take the steps that go down by the church. Its easier than the road.
  • Tony in the small grocery shop is very helpful and will do his best to get you anything you need. He also does deliveries.
  • If you take a left from the Villa its another short walk to Massa Lubrense. This is a little town with a good butchers, a lovely bakery, a fishmongers and a couple of grocery shops. The girl in the tourist office is lovely, you can buy Bus & Train tickets from her.
  • We went to Capri on a day trip. We got the tickets for that at Marina della Lobra. There is a kiosk at the marina and the boat leaves from there.

May 2009 - We loved Villa Malvarosa and had a memorable holiday there.

The view was magnificent, the rooms were spacious and cool and nicely furnished.

Despite arriving very late the owners remained welcoming and helped with the parking and the luggage. We had requested a small amount of shopping for breakfast, but they had filled the fridge with lovely fresh foods and even provided us with a pot of homemade strawberry jam.

One of the best things about the villa is its location in Massa Lubrense. To us any holiday is all about experiencing local culture, and we definitely shopped, ate and lived like Italians during our stay.

Travel tips

  • Avoid the supermarket and buy from the local shops. Visit the fishmonger to see the live squids, the greengrocer who has lovely wine for 1 euro and the bakery which has delicious cakes.
  • If you want a boat trip go to the tourist information and ask about trips with Mario and Franco. Not cheap but well worth it.

October 2008 - The amount of space was incredible. We all had enough space and, with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, our own bathrooms.

The views from the rooftop deck were incredible, especially in the evening.

During our stay, the temperature was just right. It was cool enough during the day that we could walk up the hill to the town or down the hill to the marina in comfort. Yet it was warm enough in the evening to sit on the deck until well after dark with just a light jacket or sweater. Much wine and cheese were consumed watching the stars come out!

I honestly can't think of anything Summer In Italy could do to improve. Communications with your staff was easy and quick. The monetary transactions were handled as advertised. The property exceeded the expectations we had based on its description on your web site.

Travel tips

  • One of the highlights was the courtesy and helpfulness of the caretakers. They couldn't have been more kind.
  • We didn't try many of the restaurants but the best one we did get to was Angelo's in Marina della Lobra. Angelo was very friendly. You could sit outside all day and watch marina life go by without feeling any pressure at all. If you go, be sure to get a salad - they're great!

August 2008 - For our family (parents and 3 children aged 20, 23 and 25 plus boyfriends and a girlfriend) Villa Malvarosa was more than we expected.

Location was excellent, local food-shops had everything we needed, people in Massa Lubrense were very friendly.

We didn't have a car during our stay and didn't even miss it at all. Bus connection to Sorrento is OK. We also used taxi-boat from harbour to Capri and some days also to nearby beaches. That is something we highly recommend.

In evenings we made Italian dinner, according to Italian cookbook, had some wine later on in marvellous garden and enjoyed ourselves. Just amazing!

We'll be using your services in the future, whenever we need help in planning something special in Italy.

Travel tips

  • Hire a taxi-boat from the harbour and make a trip to Capri or hire a boat to take you to nearby beach and then back in the afternoon. You won't regret.

July 2008 - It is a wonderful place with a beautiful view and spaces. All 11 of us enjoyed it very much and we didn't feel that the house is full. Still a lot of space left.

The owners, although leaving closely were extremely discreet and very helpful and nice.

The villa is equipped with everything you can need.

Simply beautiful.

I think your services are professional. Compared to other web sites, which I used to use, you are more trustworthy. What we found was even better that we expected and all my friends are professional architects (the best in Bulgaria) so their look was professional.

Travel tips

  • The restaurants and the sailors recommended by the owner are good, so follow his advices.

June 2008 - We loved it!

Beautiful house and view! Better than your pictures showed on the internet. Sitting on the terrace in the sunset is magic!!

We found it much better to be at this house a little bit off the touristic towns. You must have a car, the smaller the better for the parking lot.

Nice swimming from rocks a bit from the marina.

We are very pleased with your fast and personal service. We would like to come back to you in the future.

Travel tips

  • We wrote some tips in the guestbook.
  • You have to walk a lot up and down to the marina, so you should not have walking problems. We took it as an exercise. And it was a beautiful walking tour.

May 2008 - We had the most fabulous time at Villa Malvarosa. The villa is charming and the accommodations were as described.

Sitting on the terrace in the evenings with the views to Capri and the village of Massa Lubrense were something we will remember for ever.

The climb up and down the steps to and from the villa proved to be a good work-out for us!!

The owners were very welcoming and made sure we were very comfortable before leaving us on our arrival, offering us coffee and chats.

Keep doing what your doing. Then you will continue being successful. THANKS AGAIN.

Travel tips

  • A car is essential to see the sights.
  • Make every effort to get to know the locals they are so wonderfully friendly and will go out of their way to help.
  • Consider the information given regarding the steps to villa, especially with suitcases when you arrive or leave. But remember these steps add to the character of the place.

May 2008 - We had a wonderful two weeks at Villa Malvarosa. It was all that was promised and more.

Great location for seeing Pompeii, Capri, Amalfi coast, Paestum and Sorrento as well as the lovely little local towns and churches!

The villa was light and beautiful and very comfortable for our family. Magnificent views from the decks, gardens and rooftop!

Many thanks to our gracious hosts!

Thanks Summer In Italy for your immediate availability when our arrival was later than planned, it was dark, raining and we thought we were lost. We had been traveling for close to 24 hours so things always seem worse in those conditions! But you were immediately available, contacted our hosts for us and everything was fine. Very much appreciated!

Travel tips

  • The many steps may seem daunting, but it's worth the trip.
  • Also be advised parking for only one car.

May 2008 - Our week at Villa Malvarosa was a magical week that we will never forget. We enjoyed a glass of wine and the sunset from our rooftop patio each evening while being serenaded by guitar music played by our two sons.

The views from all the outdoor terraces were positively enchanting. This was our forth trip to Italy so it was more than just being captivated by Italy itself. The villa is feels very secluded and private.

The owners were very accommodating and the house was in good order when we arrived.

Summer In Italy offered excellent service and good communication. Use of credit card to pay both deposit and balance simplified the process immensely.

Travel tips

  • A warning about the driving in Campania: you need strong nerves and as small a car as you can possibly manage with.

Travel tips

  • Get a small car (we did!) as parking will be much easier. Also you'll fit through the local roads better.
  • If it is cold be aware that the air conditioners will also act as very efficient heaters.
  • The restaurants at Marina Della Lobra are well worth a visit, and easily walkable from the villa.

October 2007 - Villa Malvarosa is a gracious and spacious home, immaculately kept and well-appointed.

The view is beyond compare! The pictures on the web do not do it justice.

Based on Villa Malvarosa, I can only assume that you screen the properties you rent and present only those that meet high standards. We appreciated finding the villa to be all your web page said it was and more! Your web site relies heavily on pictures of the view, which concerned us somewhat about what the actual villa would look like, but we were very pleasantly surprised by how beautiful it is. The owner was gracious in every way. Thanks for all you do.

Travel tips

  • There are local shops at the top of the hill that offer fresh meat, seafood, produce, and local wine, and a snack bar at the bottom whose owner speaks excellent English and who is very helpful in any way he can be.

September 2007 - Great Location, breathtaking views. The owners were great to deal with! I would stay there again.

You guys were great. I appreciate everything! I will book with you again on my next trip to Italy.

Travel tips

  • There is parking for 3 cars, I really recommend having a rental car. It is very easy to get around, all the towns are marked very well.
  • Positano is a must, it may be the nicest place I have ever been!
  • Ristorante Tritone in the town center is priced great with very good food and a friendly staff.

September 2007 - It was an awesome experience. Well worth the 83 steps!!

Everything was very satisfactory. Maybe some more visible indicators of how to deal with the external lights would be helpful.

I'll definitely recommend it to my friends.

Travel tips

  • The local taxi service was prompt, reliable and cheaper than renting a car.
  • The local small boat service to Capri was amazing and the tour around the island was a highlight of the week's tours.

May 2007 - Absolutely wonderful location.

Very nicely furnished.

Excellent value for money.

Much better than we had hoped for.

We found your Company to be very efficient in all respects.

The property was correctly described, payment taken at the times stated and emails were answered swiftly and helpfully.

We had no previous experience of your Company or of booking a villa in this way, but have been impressed and would do this again.

Travel tips

  • Many everyday essentials were already at the villa - cleaning materials, garbage bags and dishwasher/washing machine detergents.
  • There's a small grocery shop a short walk away at Marina della Lobra (as well as a few good restaurants) and its owner was especially friendly and helpful, giving advice on best days to visit local attractions.
  • There are more shops in Massa Lubrense and we found most shopkeepers there to be very helpful and chatty too. Be aware that many people do not speak English in these parts - but a spirited attempt at Italian is always appreciated.
  • If catching the bus into Sorrento from Massa Lubrense centre do not wait at the obvious bus shelter - it does not stop there, but instead sails straight past and stops on the final corner as you leave Massa - opposite the cafe.
  • Sorrento by car is a bit of a nightmare - complete chaos. Take the bus - it's cheap too.
  • Don't bring a huge car to this property - there's only a medium parking space for one vehicle.
  • Be aware too that the drive from Naples airport is horrendous on a Saturday evening - allow plenty of time.
  • Possibly not a very child friendly property - quite a climb by stairs to get from the car to the front door.

Unfortunately, Villa Malvarosa can not be booked at this time.

We would love to help you find a suitable alternative. Please be in touch for personal advice from our staff!
