Fantastic

August 2015 - Fantastic, in a wonderful setting with beautiful views. The swimming pool was brilliant, perfect for our family of 5.

Excellent service, would use Summer In Italy in the future.

Travel tips

  • Gelato from Sorano was the best.
  • All of the local hilltop towns and villages were stunning.

July 2015 - I would qualify Villa Lavanda as uno piccolo paradiso. It is even more beautiful than the photos associated with the property.

Think of your dream landscape of Italy in general and Tuscany in particular, and Villa Lavanda will exceed your expectations.

Clean, peaceful, with breathtaking vistas.

The pool is amazing.

Adelmo, the property manager, is welcoming and charming.

I have been very fortunate to have visited some spectacular places in this wonderful world... Villa Lavanda ranks among the finest.

Summer in Italy is what the service industry should be. Luca... your team... Andrea, Melanie... you all know who you are... you are a tribute to professionalism. I have spoken highly of you to dozens of people and I hope this will generate more business. Keep up the good work.

Travel tips

  • Get a cold drink and go relax by the pool. You will soon forget all your worries.
  • Take the A12 and E80 to Montalto di Castro, then follow signs for Marciano and Pitigliano. It is faster than the A1.

June 2013 - We loved Villa Lavanda so much that we didn't want to write a review for fear many others would come there and it wouldn't be free when we want to return.

Travel tips

  • Don't miss the sulfur springs in Sorano! Pitigliano is wonderful too! Siena is not too far and fun to visit.

July 2012 - Our stay was more than excellent.

Mr. Adelmo [the owner] was charming, accommodating and helpful. Villa Lavanda sits on a beautiful mountain top with gorgeous views and refreshing breezes, not to mention the amazing sunsets! Everything from the villa to the landscape is well kept and clean. The pool was clean and perfect during those Tuscan summer days. The surrounding towns are friendly and quaint. We especially loved Pitigliano. We would highly recommend this villa and location. No place is more beautiful than Tuscany!

Travel tips

  • You must have a GPS to help with driving around.

June 2012 - I was travelling with 2 kids. We had the most funniest time at the swimming pool, taking long walks at the hillsides and barbecueing.

Neignbourhood villages are worth of seeing and people in Elmo are friendly.

I strongly recommend the Villa Lavanda for the people who enjoy peace and quiet country holidays. And to those who like to spend cottage feeling vacation like oldtimes. The place is worth all the money you pay it :)

And Mr. Adelmo [the owner] is a very good guy :)

October 2010 - Villa Lavanda and its owner, Adelmo, were both unforgettable. Adelmo is a funny banker who dabbles in wood artwork. He displays some of his work at this property.

Adelmo is an excellent host and his property has been the best maintained property we've rented through Summer in Italy so far. Keep up the good work!

Villa Lavanda is perfectly maintained. One can enjoy the Tuscan panorama from the pool.

We had a great time and hope to visit Villa Lavanda again someday.

Travel tips

  • We recommend visiting the nearby towns. The scenery, food, and wine are just incredible. Make sure to eat plenty of lamb and pizza in Pitigliano.
  • The grocery store in Elmo has everything one needs and then some.

June 2010 - The location of Villa Lavanda is stunning. It's like an artisan's retreat in the hills - great metal sculptures, art on the walls etc. Very rustic and quirky - full of charm.

It's an adorable little place with fantastic views, peace and quiet and lots of sunshine!

Travel tips

  • We went to Siena for the day - 2 hrs. Distances can be deceptive - places are further than you realise on small twisty Italian roads!
  • The local village of Sorano is great - we only realised this when we visited on the last evening!

July 2009 - We did enjoy our stay at Villa Lavanda. The cottage/house was even better that we expected. Wievs were splendid, local people hostile and friendly.

Our housekeepeer was polite and warm. Our warm regards to him.

Thanks Luca and Summer In Italy... I will be back :)
