Fabulous stay at Positano villa

September 2019 - This villa was exactly what we were looking for. Great location, outside of the Positano town. Water taxi available to take you into town, or if you prefer you can walk along the narrow, windy, busy roads into town center.

Loved the accessibility to the sea. Keep in mind though there are a lot of steps down to the sea, also a short elevator ride.

Gorgeous views. Large terraces and plenty of seating on terraces.

Absolutely stunning terraces and the view is unsurpassed

September 2019 - Absolutely stunning terraces and the view is unsurpassed. Took our breath away when we walked out on the terraces. Very quiet and relaxing on the outdoor terraces.

The villa is located outside of Positano, but we had no trouble getting to and from town.

The villa was beautifully kept and we were met by Paola [the property manager] and a valet to carry our luggage and show us where the villa was located. Paola was available 24/7 for any questions or problems.

Very pleased with Luca and the staff at Summer In Italy. The booking was very easy and they were extremely responsive to any email questions I had. Would not hesitate to use them again.

Travel tips

  • We did a boat rental for a day with Valentine's Boat Rent in Positano and had a fabulous time with Captain Peppe and First Mate, Francesco. Tiziana made the booking very easy.
  • We used Mandara Car Services and Patrizio was wonderful to work with. Highly recommend.
  • Had a private Amalfi Coast and Pompeii tour. Would highly recommend Enzo (our driver) and Lello (our guide). Fantastic job!
  • Ate at Restaurant Zass, La Tagliata, Il Ritrovo and Buca di Bacco. All were great... Views at Zass and La Tagliata were amazing. La Tagliata and Il Ritrovo will arrange a shuttle to and from the villa for dinners.
  • Had an amazing dinner/cooking lesson in Positano, was a truly fabulous night.

Fabulous villa, breathtaking views of the sea and coast from multiple terraces

September 2018 - Fabulous villa, breathtaking views of the sea and coast from multiple terraces. Wonderful quiet location. Daily housekeeping services of the entire home, pool and terrace. Sleeps eight adult guests very comfortably. Funicular (elevator) to street and beach which cuts out thousands of steps per day. Perfectly adequate kitchen for breakfast and snacks. Spent almost all time outdoors on terraces.

I read many reviews regarding companies booking villas. Summer In Italy received consistently high reviews so I decided to book with them. I was not disappointed. Excellent communication and follow through by Luca and staff. Great tips and newsletter. Transparent regarding costs and policies. Very highly recommend. Would not hesitate to use them again.

Travel tips

  • Fine restaurants around. Try Restaurant La Terra, Restaurant Next2 and Restaurant La Tagliata.
  • Wonderful private charter of 6 hours to Capri to visit grottoes, swim, and have lunch.
  • Day trips to Pompeii, local winery, 6 mile hike, and Ravello. Villa Isotta is so beautiful, however, you don't need to leave.
  • Market is about 1 km away downhill, then uphill with the bags. Our property manager, Paola, was kind enough to drive us. The store will provide delivery.

Perfect in every way

July 2018 - Villa Isotta was perfect in every way.

The views, the food, and the people of Positano were the most friendly and of course the staff and in particular Paola, who helped us in so many ways and she truly made our family vacation a joy. Grazie.

Travel tips

Just an amazing spot

October 2017 - Villa Isotta was fantastic. The bedrooms were very comfortable and every room had an amazing view. We did not even use the living room as we spent every minute on the main terrace. People have said it before but I will echo it again, the pictures on the web site do not do justice to the views you will have. Best views of Positano, Praiano and the coast!! Just an amazing spot.

Mr. Giovanni [the caretaker] was very helpful as was the local staff. The villa was cleaned daily and done very professionally.

This is the second time I've used Summer In Italy and will only go thru them again when I return to Italy. The company is fantastic to work with and everything was perfect. Highly recommend Summer In Italy.

Travel tips

  • The one small downside was the walk to town. The villa sits up high so it is a healthy walk to the center of Positano. By the end of the week though we all were in better shape and did not mind the walk.
  • There are a couple of small stores to get groceries about a 5 minute walk.
  • Favorite restaurants: La Tagliata (a must), Da Costantino, Da Vincenzo.
  • Taxis are expensive to get around Positano so walk when you can. The three restaurants mentioned above all have free transportation to and from the restaurant. A great perk!!

Better than it appears in the photos!

September 2017 - Villa Isotta is incredible and I cannot wait to return. Absolutely beautiful villa which is much larger and even better than it appears in the photos!

During our stay, we explored Positano and visited all of the major hotels and tourist attractions, and Villa Isotta has the best views by far! We almost never used the indoor living room because we spent most of our time on the huge, incredible outdoor terrace taking in the breathtaking scenery. I went with a group of 8 adults and the villa fit us comfortably.

The villa location is very convenient -- just minutes from Positano and the funicular provides seamless access to the beach bar/restaurant, which has lounge chairs for the guests of Villa Isotta. The local manager was extremely helpful in arranging taxis, dinner reservations and even arranging for a private boat tour which picked us up right from our villa, at the bottom of the funicular!

I booked this villa through Summer in Italy because of their great reviews, and I would definitely use them again. They were extremely professional, friendly and helpful -- before, during and after our stay!

Travel tips

  • I recommend eating at La Serra restaurant. Sit on the outdoor terrace for dinner and you will have one of the most breathtaking dining experiences of your life.
  • La Tagliata was another great restaurant. It is up the mountain above Positano (a ~20 minute taxi ride from the villa) but has amazing, authentic home-cooked family style Italian food and great views of Positano and the water. You can even spot Villa Isotta from the restaurant if you look closely.
  • We used "Renato Cuomo Limousine Service," recommended by Summer in Italy, to transport our large party from the Naples airport to the villa. The driver was waiting for us at Arrivals and we were transported to the villa in a large Mercedes sprinter van.

The view was amazing

October 2016 - The view was amazing and the location was perfect for getting around the area on foot or via local transportation. Would highly recommend Villa Isotta.

Giovanni [the caretaker] was always available and checked in to see if there were any problems. The local staff were very helpful in fielding questions about transportation and directions as well. Anna did a wonderful job in keeping the villa clean and tidy on a daily basis.

Well done, found Summer In Italy online and would definitely use their services again.

Travel tips

  • Enjoy yourself -- it is not difficult.
  • Make use of the elevator when on the property because of the many steps.

Stunning view

July 2016 - Stunning view. Especially appreciated the fact that all four bedrooms had terraces and views of the Mediterranean. The location was fantastic, just at the top of the street filled with shopping so we could walk or drive to the water front (decent walk though) and we had easy access to driving to other towns. Overall one of the best trips I have ever taken.

Summer In Italy, that we worked with prior to our arrival (via email), were unbelievable helpful. If we had any question, they responded in absolutely no time!!

The staff at Summer in Italy was very responsive.

Travel tips

  • The local staff was very helpful for making dinner reservations and arranging transport.
  • The walk into and back from town is quite a few steps!
  • There are several restaurants that will pick you up and return you back after dining.
  • Our two favorite days were a cooking class with Mamma Agata in Ravello and renting a boat to see Capri and lunch in Nerano at Il Cantuccio.

July 2015 - What a remarkable villa, perfect location and views (far enough from town to avoid the bustle and hustle, but close enough to get there easily), and walking distance from all the key provisioning shops (butcher, grocer, greengrocer).

We thought of Villa Isotta as our Amalfi Coast "Headquarter" and we found ourselves gravitating back there all the time.

Very prompt and personalized service from Summer In Italy. Well done.

Travel tips

  • Plan on cooking from home (if you enjoy cooking).
  • The views from the deck make this the best eating spot on the coast!
  • The local butcher, greengrocer and grocer are an easy 400 meters walk from the villa.
  • Avoid hiring a car (parking and driving is a hassle).
  • You are better off hiring taxis or charter vehicles through agencies.

May 2015 - Villa Isotta is so beautiful that you almost don't want to leave it to go into town.

The rooms were very comfortable and roomy. The pool and cleaning staff were reliable and friendly. The location was wonderful and offered undoubtedly the best views of Positano. The availability to the beach made it perfect. Perfetto!

Thank you Summer In Italy for your quick responses to all our questions and your wonderful service.

October 2014 - Villa Isotta was surprisingly better than we had expected.

The view is amazing, the rooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms were nice. The villa was cleaned daily. Other than the Wi-Fi connection being weak, Villa Isotta was outstanding in all areas.

The management and staff were extremely attentive to all of our needs.

If we ever return to Positano, Villa Isotta will be our first choice for accommodations.

October 2014 - Villa Isotta was a beautiful villa with incredible views from every terrace.

It was very comfortable and there was plenty of privacy for 4 couples. We spent most of our time outdoors, so we never used the living room. The villa was spotless, cleaned daily by very friendly and kind people (most of the villas we have stayed in were only cleaned once midweek).

Mr. Giovanni, the property manager, was very helpful. He even called restaurants and made dinner reservations for us!

Summer In Italy is an awesome agency. They respond to any question or request within 24 hours. Everyone I dealt with was very friendly and helpful. I look forward to renting another villa from them.

Travel tips

  • One of our favorite restaurants was Da Costantino (make sure you have the ricotta and pear cake). They have a free shuttle service to take you there.

September 2014 - We thought Villa Isotta was a lovely unit with great outdoor space.

Not a convenient location with relation to shops and restaurants. But great views and very quiet.

We were happy with the service provided by Summer In Italy.

Travel tips

  • Be aware that the beach section for villa guests is not much. You have to move your own chairs and umbrellas and provide your own towels.
  • The two best meals we had were at Restaurant Max and Restaurant La Tagliata (call for a reservation and they will come pick you up at the property).
  • We took the jet boat trip to Capri and would totally recommend that, it was great fun.

I'm not 100% sure why I decided to book with Summer In Italy, but I am very glad I did. You were very helpful and informative. When we will return to Italy you will be my first stop checking for accommodations.

Travel tips

May 2014 - I couldn't have picked a better villa.

Villa Isotta was situated perfectly and had more privacy than others. The terraces were all amazing and we spent most of our time outside. The view was amazing and the elevator to the beach was great.

The location was great, within 10 minutes easy walking distance to the market where we got all our food. Along the way there's a fish market with fresh fish every day and a butcher with fresh meats!!!

Villa Isotta is the best villa in regards to location and views.

The staff was very warm and friendly.

Summer In Italy did a great job. Everything was perfect. I look forward to working with you again.

Travel tips

  • Late May was ideal. Not crowded. We had the beach to ourselves.
  • The villa is so convenient to market and to the bus.
  • The bus to go to town can be picked up near the market, a 10 minutes walk.
  • We dined at Restaurant Da Costantino 3 times during the week. Great food wonderful people!! Luigi is the owner, his sister is the cook and her daughter is the hostess!!! They even come and pick you up and bring you back. You can't ask for more.
  • There's a fruit stand and a little gift shop at the street level. After shopping in town for gifts, I ended up buying all the souvenirs from her, best prices by far.

Travel tips

  • Go to restaurants that provide a shuttle to eat at their restaurant... our favorite restaurant was La Tagliata... the food was amazing and the entertainment was the best.
  • Go to Pompeii and Herculaneum.
  • Go to a mozzarella cheese farm and have lunch there.

September 2012 - There were seven of us at Villa Isotta and it provided plenty of outdoor space so that we could all enjoy our quiet time - not that we had much as there was so much to do and see in Positano.

Our first impression was that the villa was a little too far out of town, but we soon found that we could go down to the beachside cafe and order a water taxi, however at night it was necessary to catch a taxi as the lift to and from our villa stopped at 6.00 pm and it was a long hike up the steps. The taxi service was very good.

All in all we really enjoyed staying at Villa Isotta and would recommend it to anyone as part of a small group. We didn't see any of the other smaller villas, but I am sure they were great too.

Summer in Italy were extremely helpful in our decision to stay at Villa Isotta and tried very hard on our behalf to secure our stay from the Monday to Saturday rather than the usual stay of Saturday to Saturday. I couldn't recommend Summer in Italy highly enough and hope to use you again when next we visit Italy.

Travel tips

  • Getting the water taxi into Positano was very quick and highly recommended, however be aware that the lift down to the beachside cafe closes at 6.00 pm and there were many steps down.
  • The taxi service is very good.
  • There are many great restaurants in town and we took advantage of the fantastic view and bought food to have on the large balcony overlooking the bay. A very relaxing time was had by all.

There was plenty of outdoor furniture and seating options, and the awnings were very much appreciated and used!

Very much appreciated the quick response from your staff for all our questions prior to our visit. Your website is very user friendly and helpful as well.

Travel tips

October 2011 - We had a marvelous time staying at Villa Isotta. Great views, great location and great service with daily maid service, etc.

We had two extremely windy days that prevented us from using the decks, as cushions, chairs, etc were blown all over the place. It was a bit too cold to use the pool, but none of this dampened our enjoyment of the villa and town of Positano. Wonderful people, food and scenery.
